“these women actually belong together. and it's terrifying.” just like i thought that simone's turning around to face the viewer in the trailer for the season spiritually defined the season itself, i now think that this quote of hers is an incredibly apt description of the whole show, top to bottom. that's the heart of it, these women's connection to each other, however sinister in its origin. also, beautiful coverage of yellowjackets coming from collider lately! perri, you're killing it. and so are the actresses, of course.
It's really wonderful that Simone and Juliette managed to find such gung-ho scene partners with each other. Their closeness translates on-screen and makes for some really elevated material. Once again, fantastic interview!
I’ve just realised that Juliette Lewis doesn’t appear in interviews much about Yellowjackets as much as the others, so it’s nice to see her. Although quite frankly I wouldn’t blame her, she hasn’t been given much of a storyline beyond being sad about Travis. Natalie wouldn’t pass the Bechdel test, it’s all about Travis. I’m not sure I can see the actress being happy about that.
@@kshamwhizzle6544I don’t think it has to do with the simple fact Travis is a man. I think it has to do with the fact he’s a terrible character. He’s not even nice to nat- literally pointed a gun at her- and serves no purpose in the show other than to be nats love interest. I get he lost his dad and brother (for a bit) but he was an asshole before all that too. He just brings a lot of negative energy and it’s not enjoyable
The moment Laura Lee’s teddy bear went up in flames before anything started going wrong with the plane I knew there was something supernatural so I don’t know how anyone else can talk themselves out of it unless the whole freaking show ends up being one of their delusions in a mental institution somewhere which I really hope is not the direction they go.
I feel sorry for Tawny and the lack of clarity about what "the other" Taissa is. Obviously she feels nervous about doing anything disrespectful to people with Dissociative Identity Disorder, and she is hedging tentatively in this interview. But if it ISNT supernatural then the only other option is that it is DID. It shouldn't be Tawny's responsibility to handle this, the writers need to address this.
Agreed. It’s funny because to me she and Lottie are two sides of the same coin in many respects. And the show fudges on explaining exactly what they experience. Lottie seems to undeniably have premonitions that you can’t explain away, visions/hallucinations (sometimes hearing/speaking in French), but also has been given the cannon schizophrenia diagnosis. By contrast, we have this whole thing going on with Other Tai, the Man With No Eyes, the symbols on the tree, and no diagnosis of any sort. It’s actually hampering adult Tai’s character development now, but hopefully they prioritise her stuff and explore it through Van, at least (if not a doctor as well) next season. But I’ve been worrying about how the show walks the line between mental illness and the supernatural with these two characters in particular.
I think Juliette is so much happier this season with how the writers and creators of the show are portraying Natalie this season. Because in several interviews last season she made it known she wasn't happy with how they portrayed Natalie. In one interview her attitude was so awful and you could tell she didn't want to be there. It was a group interview the interviewer wasn't even finished thanking them all for coming when you see Juliette bolt it from her seat. 🤣 So although it's taking longer to get to the core of who Natalie is all about this season, you can tell Juliette is so much happier this season with how they are portraying Natalie this season.
I'm not sure if it's the writing or if it's the performance but adult Nat is really the least convincing to me as a progression from teenage Nat. Juliette Lewis seems to be both physically flailing (weird body movements completely out of teenage Nat's closed and poised body language) and metaphorically flailing. Her answer to the question about Nat's memories/trauma/overdose = "I don't know". This is very telling. I don't think Juliette Lewis understands the character progression of Nat at all, which is probably not her fault but the writers/directors/showrunners. Melanie Lynskey wrung some clear answers out of the writers regarding her character's trajectory and that has clearly informed her performance in an very effective way. We need the same for Nat!
Holy falcon crap did she really just say what she ends up doing to Simone? Does this mean she's going to hurt or kill her as bad Tai? Omg I'm literally dying right now!
They made it seem like bad Tai deliberately crashed the car on Simone's side to hurt her. She then drew the symbol on her hand which could be either protection or being marked for death.

I always think of that first season needledrop at the reunion, with that opening line: “You gotta keep ‘em separated!”

Simone saying "These women belong together" hit me in the feels. I hope nobody dies :|
these three actors are absolutely brilliant, I love their performances this season
collider love you for always giving us yellowjackets content
This interviewer is so good , and doesn’t ask stupid questions
really enjoyed the interview and the mention of Simone's movie Muru at the end was awesome
Amazing cast and fantastic interview can’t wait for season 3
Such great questions , great interviews thank you !

Woah, they look gorgeous
All 3 of them
Juliette looks especially good here
im really unhappy how creators handled juliette’s character in season 2. she’s bumbling around for whole season with nothing to do.
hopefully it’ll pay off in that finale
I think Juliet’s character is getting more information about the cult. She’s trying to blend in so as not to appear as if she’s bringing Lottie down.
I’m quite curious to see if the cult is helping her to heal or if she’s there for the intel (or both??!!).
@@cheri7054 she seemed on drugs walking up at the reunion - whats in the smoothies.

I think she means the car crash from Episode 2! This interview was filmed before it aired, press had screeners of the six episodes
