A great quality video, hearing that Valenta "scream" again! I'm lucky enough to have worked a few of the power cars featured here, although they certainly don't sound like that nowadays 🤣
Another great film, covers the rails I travelled over so often in the 80-90s. To think we took these great machines for granted (!) almost disappointed when it wasn't a loco hauled train. What price now seeing/hearing a Valenta engined HST pull away from its station stop. Thanks for editing and sharing - much appreciated.
What lovely looking trains those HST's were; particularly adorning the 'executive' and the later 'swallow' liveries. They were never quite the same though in later years with their new engines. And the Cornish countryside, what a backdrop! I'm not sure what these Hitachi units are like...quite a few poor reviews! Oh, and btw, amazing filming!
Brilliant, really miss Valenta vibes, more please.
Absolutely superb. Bravo and thanks so much for posting this. It's brought back some very happy memories.

Glad you liked it, got another 5 on the way of HSTs in Cornwall

St Erth footbridge has now been completely replaced my gosh the railways are getting more depressing every day😭
Yep not seen it yet, got some video common of the old St Austell bridge I need to post soon
Outer bogie of the rear power car on the first one seemed to be smoking a bit 🤔
Yes looked like the brakes were dragging
7:00Boy, those are shiny china clay tanks! The days when they were called the Silver Bullets
