I basically learned the game by making good contact and curving the ball both ways. I learned the short game, and learned to putt, both by feel. Golf is not a difficult game, it's golf instruction around the board that screws people up. In fact I had a 7 year lean-period because I listened to other people, and instructors. Tiger got rid of his coaches because to be frank, they sucked. I think we all know what Tiger's done with his career since then, so I'll stick with that.

Champion's Path I'd be curious to know how old you were and how long it took you to "learn" those skills. It doesn't come so naturally to many of us who start the game later in life. Would you agree that Tiger is not a typical example?

@@fredgreene It took me a year to master ball striking. I started at 15, and was 16 when it came together. The 7 year difference was taking online advice and a bit of mental coaching to improve. I don't know, but I guess I figured hitting handmedown 1 woods 295 in the air and controlling it to a high level wasn't good enough. Naturally, taking instruction, I lost 70 yards on my drive and a good bit of control, and went searching for 7 years. I've returned to my old form, and carry around a scratch to plus figure handicap. I'm not saying it is easy, but to be honest it's not nearly as complicated as some instructors make it. I'm not criticizing anyone however, and while I disagree highly with their methods, It's not my place to tell them what to teach. My entire point was that of disagreement, and not necessarily criticism. If I came across as abrasive, I apologize. But I will post some videos on my channel of me playing and hitting shots, if people really want proof I know what I'm talking about. But thanks for the reply. I hope your day goes well.
