❤️💚💙💜Ren just turned 34. From age 19-26 he was mostly bedbound at home suffering from undiagnosed/misdiagnosed Lyme disease that ravaged his body, then mind. A stem cell transplant in 2016 slowly brought him back to about 70% or so. Since then he's been making up for time playing and rapping as well as trying to cure many of the other ailments related to the Lyme going untreated for so many years. He's a solo independent artist that sings, raps, directs produces, and mixes and masters his work on most of his music so far.
In all of the reactions I’ve watched for this song, which is a lot, nobody has asked why “next Jimi Hendrix”. Jimi was part of a giant coincidences where famous people, usually musicians, died at age 27. Jimi, Janice Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Mama Cass. There are more, but they’re from genres I don’t listen to, so I can’t recall their names.
Also "next Jimi Hendrix" could also relate to his busking where like Hendrix he plays with the creative freedom of a guitar. Like the busking video he has with Sam Tompkins, (Falling, Earned it, Mans world) where Ren played the most Hendrix rendition I've heard outside of Gary Clark Jr.
@@goatkiller666He’s straight up talked about his admiration for Jimi’s ability to channel his playing from somewhere beyond this world. It’s ironic that even before I knew that I’ve thought Ren had that same ability more than once. Watch his freestyle jam session with Liv Sangster to see it in action. 💜
I think the renegades would really appreciate you going down the rabbit hole. With a few exceptions we are a supportive and rather passionate little cult. Ren had a couple of successes and a couple of viral videos before Hi Ren, but his description of his music following in this song was true. He had about 300 000 followers on youtube when Hi Ren came out. They had taken a lot of time rehearsing and setting up for the video, but by the time they were ready to shoot, the owner of the building came in and told them to leave. They got half an hour from him and managed four takes live in that time. This is number four. Ren thought he'd messed it up, but the video spoke to people, and he didn't stop growing since. I remember the first million views, which were followed, funnily enough, by it being played on the radio. His fans grew like crazy, many of us grateful for being heard and spoken for. He produced an album called Sick Boi last year with next to no conventional publicity, no live performances, almost no TV, bandit beat Rick Astley to number 1 in the UK. Ren is hugely versatile. There is still the tale of Jenny and Screech as a masterful performance piece, and the rest are more typical songs. What genre? Well you can never know before he opens his mouth. His latest shoutout was Russel Crowe who spoke very highly of him. Fanbase is between 5 and 90 years old, all musical tastes, all walks of life, all political orientations. Glad you found us and we found you. Enjoy the ride.
Wow! Thank your for the putting all of this awesome information into the comment section. I can tell you really love Ren to take the time to share this with us. I'm a big fan, but I also have my hands full with my own creative projects so, yeah. Thanks for this. I've watched Hi-Ren probably around 300 times just to see others reactions. It's is a once in a life time master piece and that's coming from a guy that will turn 75 next month. Thanks again. 😜😜😜😜😎😎😎😎
What's next? That's the question 😁 If you wanted more theater, guitar playing, great acting by Ren, I would choose Tales of Jenny and Screech (choose the full version, over 13 minutes long). Would you prefer Ren rapping, I would choose The Hunger, Sick Boi, Illest of our time, Genesis, Murderer, Wicked Ways, Nas Retake or his latest, very important song Troubles. Or maybe you want to hear Ren's vocal abilities, I would choose Chalk Outlines, How to be me or one of the newer ones Back to 74-message in a bottle retake. Ren was also in a band called The Big Push, they performed mainly on the street and their live videos are amazing, I recommend I shot the sheriff, Paint it Black, War Pigs (choose the video where Ren has red suspenders, better quality) Wade in the water /Nina Simone. Ren also plays the piano, Mackay's song is must. Great reaction, looking forward to the next one😊❤
@@JulitaPio I really do appreciate you for making this excellent list. I just wanted to add my favorite one to the suggestions for an upbeat rap. It just blows my mind how he can be so fast while remaining so clear in it. Anyway, thanks for all of your excellent and very helpful advice
Definitely Humble and Ocean, both Ren ft. Eden Nash. Excellent example of Rens Reggae/Ska influence and vocal abilities to LITERALLY sound as soulful as all us Brits loved and completely influenced our music since the early 1940s. The genre we became half siblings to and kindly accepted as such, for just the soul that it is 🫶 and our common love for our brothers from another mother, and sisters from another mister! 🇯🇲 🫶 🇬🇧
This doesn't follow the format.... yup, that's Ren. The amazing part of Ren's music is you've watched 2 so far, both 9+ minutes long and you were engaged the whole time. Most of Ren's videos are done with less than $1000 budget (at least to date) with the exception of Money Game 3. A large majority, like this are live and 1 shot. (he's had video's that have taken over 100 attempts to get that 1 shot). Ren is his own production team. He writes, performs and produces his own stuff. There are some he even did most of the filming (or set up all the shots and directed the whole thing.) That's why his stuff resonates. He is in every part of all of it so you see his unfiltered vision.
Really like your insights. I've watched a bunch of Ren reactions and you guys are in the top 3. Would love to see you do a reaction to Ren's The Hunger.
I'd like to recommend something that shines a light on Ren's rapping skills. "Genesis" or "the Hunger". Ren is a real talent. Singing, multi-instrumentalist, beat boxing, rapping, beat making (most of the beats he has are his own, though some overzealous fans try to say otherwise), directing, writing...you get the picture. He's also got an animated video that reminds me a bit of that video of yours that you sampled here. Really nice work from both of you on that btw.
As regards to originality, Ren has often said that nothing is original and that he borrows from the past, but pays homage to the artists who inspired him to make his "new" sound. Many of the Renegades are from a generation older than Ren's - possibly partly because a lot of his influences (hip hop, reggae, punk) are from the 80s/90s, but also because his values represent an earlier time i.e. compassion, integrity, authenticity, empathy (with a side order of healthy rebellion)
Has a lot to do with the festivals that he attended as a youngster too. He bought the rights to troubles and their was magic in the air when he presented the family of the original singer with his production. He is The Bard (in my opinion)!
One thing to consider about this music is that this is the music that blew him up on the internet. He had been doing music for a very long time, he had even been signed to a subsidiary of Sony when he was about 19, to which he couldn't keep his contract obligations because of his illnesses and they parted. Nevertheless after several years constantly bed ridden he had gotten himself a small but dedicated following. And he a was well known street performer in Brighton (UK). This music catapulted him, but when listened to, one has to consider the lyrics are from someone who is and knows he is a relative unknown artist.
Ren was never in any institution, but he spent like 7-8 years stuck in bed, mostly at his mom's house. His mental health issues were a side-effect of being repeatedly misdiagnosed. Turns out he has Lyme Disease, an infection that can be caused by a tick bite. Years of leaving that infection untreated, coupled with medical treatments he didn't actually need ravaged both his body and mind. He finally got the right diagnosis and when treatment started, he started to get better. He still lives with daily pain and probably will for life.
WELCOME ABOARD THE RENAGADE EXPRESS 🚂🚂🚂. Ps you're not on the train until Hi Ren. I don't think you totally felt MG3 but saw the numbers you got from it so I hope you fall in love with Rens artistry and music as all us Renegades have... He has so many Easter eggs, artists and styles he looks up to, amazing lyricist and all around musician. He is the first artist who does it all in my lifetime. And My fave part- HE'S INDEPENDENT 🔥🔥🔥
10:48 a true Renegade will NEVER kill you. All of us went through the rabbit hole at some point and we do not judge those just entering. We only welcome you to the Reniverse. Your misconceptions are part of your growth. Your errors become the way to truth. Learn. Grow. Relax
This boy aint flexing at the start, he sets the tone. Raw and sightly off key. This boy has a BIG catalog and they are all good and never the same, all genres, hell he even has one from 8 years ago that is a sort of country rapping. But you have ot understand, he has been through hell, misdiagnosed with Limes disease for so long, and writing material all that time. Dropped by Sony because of it.
Oh my god you are the first person I have ever seen react to him and mention the two shadows... Such a powerful choice. I fucking love that you all noticed that right away
Please Sirs…..consider his recent Back on 74/Message in a Bottle and this band (The Big Push) live mashup of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop - the one with ren wearing red suspenders
Yeah, that was awesome gents - really appreciate your learned and insider perspective on the music and filmography. Prof and Ren collab out any minute - recommend jumping on that one as soon as it lands! If you want more of this, I’d go the Tales of Jenny and Screech (complete 13min video) or for some more true rap…. I dunno, maybe Losing It as it’s a good mix of his rap skills, producing and just a fun grassroots film clip.
Ren had just signed a contract with Sony for his first big album. Then he was bed ridden with pain. Sony dropped the contract and for the next several years he was bounced around from doctor to doctor who continually pushed stronger and stronger psychoactive drugs on him. Non of them worked. He eventually went back to live with his mom and was wasting away. 23 out of 24 hours a day were in bed. He still had full body pain and the drugs would often leave him in psychosis and hallucinations. Eventually he found a doctor that correctly diagnosed him with Lyme Disease from a tic bite. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that affects your nerves and even your brain. He is now in a stem cell treatment program in Canada to help him recover what the Lyme disease and they years of psychiatric drugs had done to his body. Sick Boi covers the problems he had with doctors. And Troubles covers a bit of what he went through. Hi REN covers the internal struggle he went through once he was well enough to start singing again. He is a truly unique artist that has changed lives and has made a difference in this world.
Ren's regular DP and co-director on most of his videos is Samuel Perry-Falvey. They've been working together for years. He's a master of making an amazing video with nothing. Like, zero budget stuff. MG3 was the first video they ever made together that cost more than about $1000.
I’m 62 never seen an artist like ren since I followed music in the 90s sure someone will come out with a good song but he delivers the whole package continuously restores my faith we may get thru the glut of meh music that bombards the radio
Seems to me that Hi Ren is largely, but not exclusively, one take. When they switch to the handheld shot from the wide shot there’s a pretty definitive break. Otherwise the handheld operator would have shown up in the wide shot. Am I wrong?
@@tayloryoung8336 ren explains quite well in a few videos if you really want to know. I have zero investment on whether you know what you're talking about or not. Go forth and be wrong 🤷♀️
Looking forward to more Ren reactions ♥️. If you're interested in more of his theatrical pieces then you want 'the tale of Jenny and screech' (full version is about 12 mins I think) and 'money game part 1'. Other than that, happy travels down the multi genre rabbit hole of Ren! But might be a good idea to watch 'sick boi' next to get some context of his life
Welcome to the Ren train. Thanks for watching and sharing his talent far n wide. Ren is a legend . Mega talented man. Should be more famous than 98% of music stars out there
FYI: _Ren_ does his musical art pieces like this and 'Money game part 3' but he also has plenty of mainstream content with verse/pre-chorus/chorus etc. With beats, singing, rapping and so on...🕳🐇
It was only a matter of time before you went down this rabbit hole, the way you guys reacted to money game 3 I knew you would do more ren. I cant wait for this one!
(The tales of Jenny and screech full 13 min. version). After you watch that and your minds are blown, you will definitely say "No one has done anything like that or to that caliber before." He is a full blown musician that can jam hard with his bass guitar or shred his favorite Fender Telecaster (or sound like any singer he wants). His band is super. Great reaction and I love you have musical and camera/video knowledge together. Nice job😎
He has since had a #1 album in the UK, lol. He's got tons of very famous fans, got an invitation to Glastonbury Festival a few yrs ago (had to turn it down bc he still wasn't well enough to do live shows), his music is in at least 1 tv commercial, it's on the radio now & Money Game 3 has won a bunch of music video awards internationally. He's come a long way!
Your video is gorgeous… the colours all blending into each other, your outfit, car & background sunset , great job, your movements have a great flow into the rapping 🤛🏻🔥. So glad you are enjoying REN you will enjoy the journey 🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️ new subscriber from the UK 👍🏻
@madebyTHVS i just found you guys with a prof reaction. You will find out the RENEGADES ARE MANY AND VORACIOUS, ,,,,, AND THE BEST SUBSCRIBERS YOU'LL EVER SEE!!! There is good reason for it. Talent like this doesn't even come about in each generation. I can't think of any artist of any kind ever in my life that compares... but thats just me. There may have or be someone that can do 1 thing as well, maybe something somewhere "better"..Hopefully he has a looooong future in entertainment. Hes made it public that his dream from here is to make a show for Netflix.
If you guys into Rap Here are my suggestions 1.Money game pt 2 2.Hunger 3.love music pt2 , pt3 and P4 4.down on the beat( edm rap) 5.wicked ways 6.what you want 7.hold on
@@Desmond.TuTu.really? You’re just being funny? I hope. do you know much REN? Have you went down the REN rabbit hole more than three songs? I know that answer because out of the thousand and thousands and thousands of reactions ad viewers that have went down it, none would say to not protect the one-day. gOAT
Loved you guys seeing the lights set up so early. Throughout the video the lights are still when his more vulnerable side tries to be positive and the lights flicker when the devil on his shoulder is speaking, at the end though he is up and dancing with the lights, in an acceptance that the dark side will always be there and yet he can be still standing and dancing, his final ooos are cathartic and also triumphant. In closer detail on his "good side" the light/lamp is brighter but the shadow on the floor is darker and his "dark side" the light/lamp is smaller but the shadow on the floor isnt so strong - its a physical representation of the pendulum he talks about at the end "the more intensely the light shone the darker the shadow it cast"
Rens last single Troubles, goes into the yrs of 19-26 and has🔥production. I would stick to reactions from his Sick Boi hip hop album that went #1 in the UK and the last 5 or so drops since then for now. They're all different.
He's not classically trained. He taught himself how to play by slowing down videos to replicate the finger placement. This guy's talent and genius really knows no bounds.
great reaction guys really enjoyed it and your comments and thoughts about it. you should check out something a little different, the Ren rabbit hole is very unique so as many have suggested try 'The Hunger'and/or 'Genesis' next before Jenny and Screech.
If you want a fairly concise summary of his medical journey, check out Troubles (better still check out his Chapters 1 - 8 - these are spoken word and lengthy)
The Chapters on his channel renmakesstuff will give yoy the complete detailed truth from his own mouth rather than sonetimes inaccurate comments. He did indeed suffer extreme pain and fatigue and brain damage and dtll suffers from MCAS which explains his allergies to food. I think you would love the Tales, then go ahead and do some rap. Hunger, Genesis, Murderer. Hold On. Seven Sins.
Lol, you guys are entertaining and satisfy me physically... ugh let me rephrase that 😂😂😂 Really enjoyed your insights. You two picked up on a lot especially the two shadows. Haven't seen many talk about that. I subbed for more Ren ❤ I recommend The Hunger and if u haven't gotten into The Big Push (Ren is part of that band) try What Kind of Woman is This. Have a great night!
Makes me think of yin and yang ... how on the light side.. there is still a little bit of shadow... and on the dark side.. there is still a little bit of light. It brings to mind once more how nobody is entirely dark or entirely light.
Good reaction. This is live one-take with multiple cameras but with 1 cut. The monologue at the end was from the 3rd take. It took 4 takes in total. He is a rapper and a Bard. He's Bardcore. Also- just saw you reacted to Sam Tompkins. Ren and Sam have some incredible busking videos on Ren's channel. I would recommend their busking Blind Eye, Improvising around Stevie Wonder, but to me, the best, is the mash up of Earned it/Man's World/Falling. You're right- Sam is incredible. Amazing voice. Anywho- basically...Ren can't be boxed in a genre. He's just an artist who loves what he does and does what he wants. Music and creating is his therapy.
Wow you fellas are in for a great ride. As a Renegade it’s so exciting to know what’s ahead for ya. The rabbit hole is deep. Great reaction. Just subbed.
I just found your channel and I'm digging the positive vibes and breakdowns. You noticed the shadows, they were indeed a cinematic choice, but there is a subtlety to them. The shadow on the right is much lighter than the shadow on the left. When he is "dark Ren" he looks to the right as if he's talking to the lighter shadow. When he is himself he is looking to the left towards the darker shadow. This is also alludes to the pendulum in his monologue at the end, eternally swaying from the dark to the light.
Sometimes it better to just listen especially when it comes to REN fortunately REN is reactor freindly no pauses needed & He's very original that why he has the most diversity of a fan base since Micheal Jackson.
Pretty much all I watch are reactors and so I've seen them all. It's so refreshing to have someone down to earth who don't appear to be faking their reactions for views so I would predict your channel doing very well if you keep that in check. As you seem like nice people, I'm going to give you a few very specific tracks/singles on UA-cam that are well known to blow your channel up and make you a lot of money. I've not yet worked my way through all your videos yet (which I'm just about to do) so apologies if you have already done some of them. So, from a high artistic value perspective, anything else from Ren but definitely glad you almost started with the best, 'Hi Ren.' Now going up level but this time, from a high music & video production value, anything from Falling In Reverse from 'Drugs' onwards is in a brand new incomparable tier of its own and in particular, the best ones from a video production prospective are 'Ronald' and 'Watch The World Burn' as those video alone tipped them over into greatness. Also, from an arrangement perspective, be sure to then do their beautiful 'The Drug In Me Is You Reimagined,' then 'I'm Not a Vampire Revamped' and then 'Last Resort Reimagined,' then any/all the other few from 'Drugs' onwards. (Like Ren, the frontman Ronnie even loves reactors and so also reacts to them reacting to him, which can be fun from that inception angle. I think he'd really like you guys so maybe someone will suggest you to him at some point.) Now up a level again but this time from a high singing skills value, a super special one would be 'Creep - Vintage Postmodern Jukebox Radiohead Cover ft. Haley Reinhart.' This is my most watched video/listened to single of all time and I have therefore seen it many many many hundreds of times over the nearly decade since it was released. Finally to the pinnacle and from a highly evolved human perspective, a true one off for likely many hundreds of years, Harry Mack. This might not suit your channel but if you compare the two best people in the world at any other discipline, whether that's tennis or car racing or cooking and everything in between, the two best people are always very close in abilities. This is not true in freestyle rap. The greatest freestyle rapper to ever live, Harry Mack, is many many many magnitudes greater than anyone that has done it before or who is likely to do it again in the next century or few. It is a truly remarkable feat of human evolution and so linguistically advanced, it sends tingles down one's spine. I have run an in depth scoring algorithm since he exploded back on the scene following my discovery of him back from his Venice Beach fame, this time with series called Guerrilla Bars, which I luckily picked up on the first one with before he introduced Omegle Bars too. There are typically 3 or 4 different freestyles per video. You'd be best starting with Omegle Bars 52(first two,) 45(first two,) 42(first one,) 18(last one,) 76(first one,) 86(second one,) 96(second one,) 50(second one,) 93(second one,) ... and then any of the others, especially the more recent ones, and don't forget Guerrilla Bars 25(first & last one.) Finally, just some general tips for reactors that were the result of a poll amongst several sizable communities, hence, some may not apply to you: - Remember to not even have a tiny peak at any videos first before recording the reaction as it is impossible to hide that fact no matter how good a reactor thinks they are. - Ensure the video being reacted to occupies at least two thirds of the screen at all times. - Push the mouse cursor to the far right of the screen in the middle (or left depending on if your output is mirrored) and permantly leave it there off-screen so the seek bar is never showing. - Use the 'K' key on the keyboard to pause/play and the 'J' key to skip back 10 seconds. - Before the video begins, press the 'C' key on the keyboard to deactivate the closed captions as no one wants to see words if it's already in their native language. - Even if a reactor believes they're good at acting, viewers can always tell when a fake reaction face is pulled so it's better just to pretend you are not making a video. - Unless a reactor happens to be an expert in a particular related field such as being an esteemed vocal coach, viewers generally are not interested in much commentary at all as are primarily viewing just to witness if any natural facial expressions, etc. occur. Uncontrollable verbal outbursts of admiration are also accepted. (Never forget, many will unsubscribe if the reactions are ever fake.) - Remember, some or all of those suggestions above may not directly apply to you but might be helpful to keep in the back of the mind. Enjoy the channel blowing up (assuming you don't have a peek at any of the above first.) All the best and greetings from England.
Another fantastic reaction! I'll spare you Ren's story because I see below that others have told it. Just a few days ago he had his final in a year and a half long series of experimental treatments for his extraordinary host of conditions, and he reported that he's doing much better and ready to finally leave Canada and move home to Great Britain, to stop those regular treatments (with boosters now and then), but that he's far from "cured" and still has big health struggles. The thing with Ren is, he is fucking strong. And he makes us Renegades stronger every day. Oh, and by the way -- all the latest songs and videos you'll find from Hi Ren to Money Game 3 and dozens in between, and his album, Sick Boi, which debuted at No. 1 on the UK charts and is winning all kinds of film festival awards -- were written or recorded in that year and a half of extraordinary pain, illness, and several times a week IV treatments. I mean, seriously? The term once-in-a-lifetime artist gets thrown around too much, but in this case it fits. I can't wait to see your future reactions to Ren (and the rest of your stuff, of course). I only wish I could afford to make it to England next month and The Secret Garden Party concerts, where Ren is headlining (and meeting up with a few close personal friends like Chinchilla, Romain Axisa, and Scarlett Fae).
This is art of transcendent beauty and an *important* song. Artists often struggle with imposter syndrome. There’s a movie starring Olivia Munn called “Violet” that rings of this and was a transformative experience for me-much the same as this song resonates. As a person who’s never been able to escape negative self-talk and imposter syndrome, *realizing* that I can exert the strength that destructive voice questions-strength that already resides within me-was sooo important. It takes time to push past the negativity-to make your own voice stronger, but if anyone out there is struggling with this, please please please *know* that you can do it. *Know* that I believe in you… but you don’t need me to-just like you don’t need the shroud of doubt that feels first of protection and then as a prison. You are *stronger* than that voice. You are stronger than you can *possibly* know… until you push back with softness or aggression-your choice.
I loved y'alls Money Game 3 reaction. The two of you play so well off each other that it makes for such a great reaction. I'm glad that you are going back to Hi Ren where a lot of us Renegades got our start. I can't wait to see y'alls journey down the Ren rabbit hole. I look forward to your reactions to some of his rap heavy videos. Honestly I've loved everything Ren had put out. For a full on Flex of different rap cadences, look at Hunger. And i fully agree with another comment of all the video's you must try. If you could react to the whole catalog, that would be superb. Lol. Thank you for your time
Ren was misdiagnosed for years as he was literally wilting away. Bed ridden for nearly a year, he felt his body just dying and they had him try this med, and that med. Finally someone tested him and found out he had Lyme disease. He was bitten by a tic. It had ravaged his body because he was left misdiagnosed which ultimately left him with bouts of psychosis as he mentioned here. He went to Canada (he is now heading back to the UK) to receive stem sell treatments. His health is so much better and he is finally feeling somewhat normal again!
Fantastic Review, If you guys didn't catch it he was misdiagnosed with lyme disease which really messed with his head. So I would say Sick Boi next and then after that Tale of Jenny and Screech FULL 13 mins.
After the Jenny and Screech trilogy, you will definitely enjoy seeing Ren and Sam Tompkins collab on a song called Blind Eyed. Multiple versions exist out there, but I think the Music Crowns (MC Sessions) version is the best.
One of my new favorite things is artists showing love to other artists and then being able to share their own work. Such a great way to get your stuff out to new eyes. Loved your thoughts on this piece and your clip was great. I will check it out.
I love that this is all done in one take. Different camera angles and fantastic lighting, even down to the light play with the shadows on the floor. OH, some of that amazing theatrical talent comes from the fact that Ren is a street busker in Brighton Beach. He also has a band called 'The Big Push.' WELCOME to the Ren rabbit hole! It's warm and cozy and we have cookies to share. 😃
Noticing two shadows before he's even gotten into vocals is such a great sign, you're already feeling exactly what he's going for without an actual word. Great visuals from him, fabulous recognition from you
Never seen you guys before, but ya'll are something else. You two have obvious talent and intelligence that I haven't seen in similar channel and reactors. Thanks guys!
Great reaction, guys. If you want some rap flow switches and lyricism plus a bit about his physical/mental issues you should check out Seven Sins lyric video or the fan-made visualizer video.
Amazing work with writing, production and music. What Ren does in this song with his vocals reminds me of how someone reading a book to children will change their voice to represent the different characters.
Sometimes you're gonna get roasted, bro; that's part of putting yourself out there. But, as a longtime Ren supporter, I'll tell you that the truth in this community is about love, learning, and great music. Glad to see y'all doing some more Ren reactions. Have fun and get what you'll get out of them; that's yours, and nobody can take that. Cheers for sharing, though Edit: listened to the clip of your own stuff in the mid-part of the video. Really nice. Y'all have some skills. Gonna check out some more

Thank you for this, there are a million layers to this song!
Thank you for pointing this out to them
The tales of Jenny and screech is a must watch! You will not be disappointed
yes the "full" version (13min).
Especially with one of you being a videographa 🇬🇧😊
Yip, this for sure. The tales of jenny and screech with the added on Violets Tale (which is the full version Dalmen mentions that is 13 minutes long.
Trust us, you don't want to miss this performance!
Let’s discuss if he’s original after this one.
Well said😊
@@TheNomaer Thank you. you are so right. he got me to change to a creative career as well.
If you haven't already watch The Tales of Jenny and Screech. It is a trilogy. Play all 3 in order and at one time. It is best that way.
We are not a passionate little cult, we are an over-zealous huge book club!
Under rapping, I think you missed a great one when omitting Losing It from your list. I love his beast mode
@@StephenDamroth I just gave them a few ideas, we all know there are many more good ones🙂
@@JulitaPio I really do appreciate you for making this excellent list. I just wanted to add my favorite one to the suggestions for an upbeat rap. It just blows my mind how he can be so fast while remaining so clear in it. Anyway, thanks for all of your excellent and very helpful advice
@@StephenDamroth my pleasure 🙂
Definitely Humble and Ocean, both Ren ft. Eden Nash. Excellent example of Rens Reggae/Ska influence and vocal abilities to LITERALLY sound as soulful as all us Brits loved and completely influenced our music since the early 1940s. The genre we became half siblings to and kindly accepted as such, for just the soul that it is 🫶 and our common love for our brothers from another mother, and sisters from another mister! 🇯🇲 🫶 🇬🇧
It has to be the tales of Jenny and screech and violets tale trilogy. Must be all at the same time.
13 minute version!
YESSSS❤
"THE HUNGER" NEXT
Absolutely crazy to go from Hi, Ren to The Hunger. You gotta do that next. Nate Ross will appreciate it.
I went from Bittersweet Symphony to Hi Ren to The Hunger. Would recommend.
It’s definitely high on the list of first watches for sure!!
The Hunger and Illest Of Our Time are both great tracks for a rapper to hear!
Hi Ren is not a one-shot video but a combination of the four takes they filmed for it. Audio is one-take though.
@@declanmoore9005 Maybe this is confusing the story of Ren playing "For Joe" to Joe's parents, with him paying to use the Vera Hall sample.
Greatest musical performance I've ever seen
You obviously never saw Alternator.

Learn. Grow. Relax

He's the best story teller I've ever read heard anything! An amazing actor as well bro🌶️💥💥🫶🔥❗
The tales of Jenny and screech (full version that’s 13min) is the next one for sure.
Yes! I love the mashup of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop - the one with Ren wearing red suspenders, too!
“Hospital gowns with socks is the new sandals with socks” 😂
I got the black, yellow, and blue pair.
Ren doesn’t show off… he’s just that good!
Ren's regular DP and co-director on most of his videos is Samuel Perry-Falvey. They've been working together for years. He's a master of making an amazing video with nothing. Like, zero budget stuff. MG3 was the first video they ever made together that cost more than about $1000.
Absolutely. Samuel Perry-Falvey is a genius
I’m 62 never seen an artist like ren since I followed music in the 90s sure someone will come out with a good song but he delivers the whole package continuously restores my faith we may get thru the glut of meh music that bombards the radio
1 take as well. Rens videos are like 92% live and 1 takes.
Ren produces/makes his beats, his lyrics, and does everything!
Additionally, this video was recorded without permission to use the location. They only got 4 tries to record. They uploaded the third take.
Seems to me that Hi Ren is largely, but not exclusively, one take. When they switch to the handheld shot from the wide shot there’s a pretty definitive break. Otherwise the handheld operator would have shown up in the wide shot. Am I wrong?
@tayloryoung8336 the video is one shot.
@@michaelthony9525 Thank you for that trenchant analysis of my sincere question. Me: this doesn’t seem to be X because of Y. You: it is X.
@@tayloryoung8336 ren explains quite well in a few videos if you really want to know. I have zero investment on whether you know what you're talking about or not. Go forth and be wrong 🤷♀️
Damn dude, caught the 2 opposing shadows off the bat. Good shit man.
The tale of Jenny and Screch
gotta watch "troubles" next so you can understand his life story and after that every song from him would make perfect sense
Ren is never showing off. He's always showing off because he can. 😂😂 😅
All of those things are exactly what makes him original!
She sells sea shells line in this is a reference to Money Game Pt2 so definitely hit those up still.

Great reaction! Thanks for that. The Renegades are lining up for more! Enjoy the roller coaster ride that is Ren. ☮️❤️😎
I'm at 4:05 and he hasn't even really started yet but already you are picking up on the two shadows. Foreshadowing. So cool.
You do know that this video was shot live and done in one take!!! Unbelievable talent ❤❤
Making us wait 5 more days? Sadists!
Patience is a virtue 🙏🏼
Welcome to the REN-aissance!
The fact he did this live and in 1 take…amazing. 100% original in the best way ever
'Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full)' is a 3 part (in one video) story. Watch that and get freaked out as much as Money Game 3.
If you guys into Rap
Here are my suggestions
1.Money game pt 2
2.Hunger
3.love music pt2 , pt3 and P4
4.down on the beat( edm rap)
5.wicked ways
6.what you want
7.hold on
Plus Nas - Halftime Retake 😊
Add in Animal Flow
🌟✨Murderer also.✨🌟
Don’t forget Seven Sins! It’s a Banger!
Ren must be protected at all costs 😊🥹💜
Why ? 🤔
If you like the theatrical aspect of his music id suggest the tale of Jenny and screech
He's not classically trained. He taught himself how to play by slowing down videos to replicate the finger placement. This guy's talent and genius really knows no bounds.
Been following Ren for just over a year and still finding new tunes, his work ethic is off the charts all while being unwell .
One of the most important pieces of art to come out in a while.
He did this whole video all in one take
great reaction guys really enjoyed it and your comments and thoughts about it. you should check out something a little different, the Ren rabbit hole is very unique so as many have suggested try 'The Hunger'and/or 'Genesis' next before Jenny and Screech.
Hold On. Seven Sins.
I've listened to countless reactions to Hi Ren, and I can honestly say this has been the most enjoyable. Thanks, guys. ❤
Lol, you guys are entertaining and satisfy me physically... ugh let me rephrase that 😂😂😂
Really enjoyed your insights. You two picked up on a lot especially the two shadows. Haven't seen many talk about that. I subbed for more Ren ❤
I recommend The Hunger and if u haven't gotten into The Big Push (Ren is part of that band) try What Kind of Woman is This. Have a great night!
I cant wait for more reactions of Ren from you guys ❤
sic boi, the hunger, losing it, and murderer is my starting list
Down the rabbit hole that is Ren Reactions, and I loved this one!!! (Subscribed)❤
I also noticed that the 2 shadows are supposed to represent the 2 sides of himself
Makes me think of yin and yang ... how on the light side.. there is still a little bit of shadow... and on the dark side.. there is still a little bit of light. It brings to mind once more how nobody is entirely dark or entirely light.
Great reaction, y'all! Liked & Subscribed 👊
Really dug the color palette in the clip you showed from your own song, too
Good reaction. This is live one-take with multiple cameras but with 1 cut. The monologue at the end was from the 3rd take. It took 4 takes in total.
He is a rapper and a Bard. He's Bardcore. He is a Lyricist. He also produces most of his own stuff.

Great reaction! There is so much more to love.❤
Great reaction to the Goat....thanks guys appreciate you👍👍
I just found your channel and I'm digging the positive vibes and breakdowns.
So many good ones, here for them all! Great reaction
Great reaction team guys! Enjoyed youre rap video too. Thx!
Great reaction guys can’t wait for the entire REN journey
Sometimes it better to just listen especially when it comes to REN fortunately REN is reactor freindly no pauses needed & He's very original that why he has the most diversity of a fan base since Micheal Jackson.
Enjoy everyone😁
My favorite part about the lamps is how hi tech they were. There was just a person plugging and unplugging it 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Pretty much all I watch are reactors and so I've seen them all. It's so refreshing to have someone down to earth who don't appear to be faking their reactions for views so I would predict your channel doing very well if you keep that in check. As you seem like nice people, I'm going to give you a few very specific tracks/singles on UA-cam that are well known to blow your channel up and make you a lot of money. I've not yet worked my way through all your videos yet (which I'm just about to do) so apologies if you have already done some of them.
So, from a high artistic value perspective, anything else from Ren but definitely glad you almost started with the best, 'Hi Ren.'
Now going up level but this time, from a high music & video production value, anything from Falling In Reverse from 'Drugs' onwards is in a brand new incomparable tier of its own and in particular, the best ones from a video production prospective are 'Ronald' and 'Watch The World Burn' as those video alone tipped them over into greatness. I think he'd really like you guys so maybe someone will suggest you to him at some point.)
Now up a level again but this time from a high singing skills value, a super special one would be 'Creep - Vintage Postmodern Jukebox Radiohead Cover ft.
You'd be best starting with Omegle Bars 52(first two,) 45(first two,) 42(first one,) 18(last one,) 76(first one,) 86(second one,) 96(second one,) 50(second one,) 93(second one,) ... and then any of the others, especially the more recent ones, and don't forget Guerrilla Bars 25(first & last one.)
Finally, just some general tips for reactors that were the result of a poll amongst several sizable communities, hence, some may not apply to you:
- Remember to not even have a tiny peak at any videos first before recording the reaction as it is impossible to hide that fact no matter how good a reactor thinks they are.
(Never forget, many will unsubscribe if the reactions are ever fake.)
- Remember, some or all of those suggestions above may not directly apply to you but might be helpful to keep in the back of the mind.
Enjoy the channel blowing up (assuming you don't have a peek at any of the above first.)
All the best and greetings from England.
Ive watched pretty much ALL the reaction videos to this and your the first ones that catches the two shadows... Great insight! Thanks!
You are stronger than you can *possibly* know…
until you push back with softness or aggression-your choice.
Lol. Thank you for your time
Wait until the videographa sees jenny and screech his life will never be the same again 😅😅 🇬🇧😊
He seems classically trained.. lol he learned it the classic way of the 21st century. UA-cam.
Great reaction! I can't wait for more Ren from you guys.
He also has a band called 'The Big Push.'
WELCOME to the Ren rabbit hole!
He is definitely his own genre❤love your true reactions ❤️
19:52 *AWESOME* only the 2nd reactor out of the 110 I have watched to actually STAND. YES!!!!! Sweet. You get it!!
Great reaction, guys. If you want some rap flow switches and lyricism plus a bit about his physical/mental issues you should check out Seven Sins lyric video or the fan-made visualizer video.
The crazy thing is there are 30-40 tracks from him where each one leaves you questioning what you thought was an "artist".
Amazing work with writing, production and music. What Ren does in this song with his vocals reminds me of how someone reading a book to children will change their voice to represent the different characters.
Amazing comment, “REN reminded me what it’s like to be human!’
Cheers for sharing, though
Edit: listened to the clip of your own stuff in the mid-part of the video. Really nice. Y'all have some skills. Gonna check out some more
Ren is independent-he and Samuel- hi Ren, Jenny, screech and Violet’s tale are all live and one take- that’s IT…amazing
