The legendary Persolaise and they only gave you small bottles?? LOL My gut tells me this is going to be a more French-ified interpretation of Amouage in scent character. I think the new direction of Amouage would be like a reformulation of a fragrance you love. On their own, each fragrance may be great. But to see something you love get changed, you can feel very disappointed. Appreciate you bringing these to us.

I just small Crimson Rocks and I love it in my mind Material was going to make me feel hugged by nature and did not happen that I have so much expectations for Matirial that was a NO for me, then I found Crimson Rocks and I feel that hug from nature 🥰 more I smell Amouage more I love it
I love Meander very much and will buy that one I think, but I have to say I’m disappointed by the rest (to be fair I didn’t smell the Jasmine) but for me personally they just smelt average. Nothing sadly to match the creativity of the likes of Interlude, Epic, imitation man etc. But of course that’s just my opinion, and others will naturally feel different. Amouage is something close to my heart, I certainly hope to be wowed in future 😊 Now having said that, let’s get back to my shopping cart and grab Meander 😅 ❤
It’s disappointing seeing one of my favorite brands take a turn for the worse, and by that I mean the mainstream and the unoriginal. Crimson Rocks was a shoulder shrug at best. Ashore was nice, but “nice” isn’t a word I would’ve normally associated with Amouage prior to the recent releases (Journey, Reflecfion, and Honour were the exceptions). Enclave was an abrasive woody-amber (as are most Julien Rasquinet perfumes with AmberXtreme) with a minty, Roja Enigma top. Meander was a drier, less sweet, incensy Lost Alice (also made by Mackenzie Reilly). Boundless immediately reminded me of something from the past, and then I realized it was Kenzo Jungle Homme (same concept too). Initio did a better leathery vanilla with Absolute Aphrosidiac than Amouage did with Material. I never thought Amouage would make less interesting perfumes than Initio. The only positive: Interlude 53 was great. But I think that’s kind of my point, none of the recent releases will ever come close to Gold, Interlude, Lyric, Epic, Jubilation, and perhaps not even Myths, Fate, Portrayal, etc. Moving away from the perfume side and going into the “experience” side: they now call themselves the “House of Amouage” on their website. Very Creed of them. Mentioning oil, resinoid, and absolute in the note breakdown was never an Amouage thing, because whether it was natural or synthetic, what came out of the bottle was something almost always unique with high quality. I can’t say the same about the newer ones. And now, every major reviewer (not including you) gets samples, if not bottles, of the new releases so they can give them glowing reviews. You talked about losing classic perfumes not too long ago in the Miss Dior video, and in this case, I think we’re getting close to losing a classic brand. It’s one thing to move away from the Christopher Chong aesthetic, but it’s another to lose your identity, and especially with these 4, behind the facade of Omani landscapes.

Yes, never experienced anything like it on youtube before. Every few minutes, even worse than watching telly in the US. So sorry they butchered your video Persolaise. Nevertheless, always a pleasure seing what you have in store.
Surely this collection should have a 'wadi' added to it. When I remember Oman, other than the Souq in Muscat, I remember Wadi's. This is how I would imagine it. Top notes: Orange, incense, violet leaf, cumin Mid/heart: blackcurrant, rose, fig, iris Base: Myrhh, frankincense, Oud/agarwood, cederwood, Ambergris I have sat and thought about this for a while and wondered how that would smell, and I think in the right hands that could evoke the scene of a dusty, warm Wadi as you walk down into the cooling shade to be greeted by turquoise waters mirroring the light beige walls of rock surrounding you. The incense and cumin in the top give a dry earthy feel, but a hint of orange and violet leaf evoke the freshness of cool breeze in the shade. The heart is burst of lush fruits and rose that is refreshing, like dipping your feet in the cool waters of the wadi. The iris should add a slight powdery vibe, to evoke the dusty desert surrounding but, not so much that it spoils the moment. The base should be woody and earthy (Oud) but slightly salty (ambergris) and fresh (cederwood). The incense and myrhh add the warmth of the sun, on a clear day in the Mountains of Al Hajar. This warmth should be lurking from the top note, but should gradually lend to make the scent warmer and warmer as it dries down. This would replicate that moment when you're in the water laying back and you are facing the sun and you are being warmed up and you finally relax. If Amouage could pull this off, I would buy 10 bottles. I wish they could bottle this moment that I am sure many who have spent time in Oman can relate to. And I think the notes listed above lend to a beautiful fragrance if well blended. I wish I had Renaud's ear as I would be harassing him 😂 They should also make a gourmand that smells like coffee with lashings of cardomom and Halwa (dates, saffron, rose). These two are quintessentially Omani. Needs to be done.

How similar you think meander to epic man?? And which one has more incense in it?
This didn't remind me of Epic Man at all. The incense here is softer, and changed considerably by the iris.
