It's rarely mentioned, but you can tell Adam Sandler really is a natural athlete. Even Michael Irvin was saying he was surprised at Adam's throwing ability. Said he was throwing tight 40 yard spirals all day, and every throw is real.
Apparently one of the most expensive parts of this movie's production was the catering to feed the cast each day, which looking at the size of some of the people in it, doesn't surprise me. A story from behind the scenes is that The Great Khali (the >7ft guy who was headbutting the wall) ate over 100 boiled eggs in a day and took home 3 chicken for dinner
So many big names were in this movie: Adam Sandler, Nelly, Goldberg, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Michael Irvin, Chris Rock, The Great Khali, Kevin Nash…oh man I could go on forever haha, def one of my favorite casted movies
A movie that definitely fits your own description of a banger, is "Crank" starring Jason Statham. If you have the ability to do a reaction to that movie at some point, I highly recommend it... you won't be disappointed... guaranteed!!!
I love this movie. You should watch the original that came out in 1974 as well. I personally like that one more because it has my dude Burt Reynolds in his prime. So it would be cool for my dude DevinG to react to my dude Burt Reynolds. Any Burt Reynolds movie would be fine. Love your reactions keep it up.👍🏻
Hey man a fellow army veteran here, and I absolutely love your channel because you react to some of my favorite movies and you remind me of one of my best army friends. If you want to do an absolutely fantastic military movie I would 100% recommend Master and Commander with Russell Crow and Paul Bettany. It's one of my absolute favorites.
Burt Reynolds is cool and badass; Adam Sandler not ... not even close. Of course, the real badass is Jack Nicholson as "Badass" Buddosky in "The Last Detail."
Such an underrated movie with a great cast of comedians Hollywood icons and wrestlers. What else can one ask for from a movie. And the tall guy Khali legit killed not just one guy but two. ( on accident)
Lots of big names.. michael irvin, nelly, kevin nash, steve austin, brian bosworth, tracy morgan, joey diaz, the big man went by the wrestling name the great khali..
You know a movie is good when I, someone who hates most (not all) comedy movies and finds sports boring, loves it. I'm not even an Adam Sandler fan, but I found him funny and relatable in this film. Shout out to Bill Goldberg! Love this guy! He played the evil Santa in Santa's Slay, a comedy horror (one genre of comedy I do tend to like).
This was a remake from a movie in the 70s, which also had a lot of former NFL players in it. Burt Renolds, who was the old coach for the convicts, was the quarterback for the convicts in that movie. And when Adam went to the golf course, the guy who said his wife had slept with him, and that he must be doing pretty good if she had an affair with a big-time football star, he was the quarterback for the guards. 88 for the convicts was Michael Irvin, retired wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. And the linebacker who ALMOST stopped Krewe at the end, was Bill Romanowski, who played for several teams in the NFL. But in a REAL situation, Adam against Bill, head-to-head at the goal line, I'm putting my money on Bill.
Fun fact Burt Reynolds who played the old man coach / running back on the inmate team played played the part of Paul Crewe (Adam Sandlers role in this one) in the 1970s original of this movie.
Great reaction! They did a british version called mean machine but for futbol / soccer with a lot of great cast too. (Jason Statham plays the part of the big indian wrestler guy in solitary) Same storyline but soccer in prison.
I haven't seen this film in years. Glad you reminded me about it. Can't believe Joey Diaz was in this and I never knew him before. JRE filled me in lol.
Hope you are doing well Devin! Thanks for the reaction! Haven’t even watched it yet, but thanks for making the days and evenings better with your videos!
My man Devin, I subscribed a while ago but I haven't been the most diligent subscriber. Every time I watch one of your videos though I'm blown away by how good an eye you have for detail. Like, you get everything the writers are putting down, you see the whole message of the film without any pretentious chit chat, but then you also put yourself in the character's shoes, and sometimes the way you describe how the characters are feeling help me understand the film better. I really enjoy your content, and am glad you started doing this. You add a lot to the conversation surrounding these films, and you're one of the most humble guys out there. I always leave your videos feeling like I got a great understanding of your perspective, and I never get bored. Keep being you, brother. ✌️
Fun Fact: The Teams Name "Mean Machine" is the title of the movie the Longest Yard is based on. In Mean Machine its not football, but soccer and Jason Statham plays the goalkeeper for the prisonors team and hes brutal :D
Ex NFL players, guards, Bill Romanowski, Brian Bosworth… prisoners, #88 Michael Irvin…. Big black guy, MMA fighter Bob Sapp… prisoner’s RB, rapper Nelly… estrogen guard, Kevin Nash, WWE wrestler… sooooo much superstars in this movie… golfers, ESPN analysts. Tall cop at beginning, ESPN legend, Dan Patrick……
Hard to believe the warden played the farmer in Babe (the sheep herding pig movie). In that movie he reminded me of my Pap (Papaw). I've seen this guy as a bad guy a few times since and he's despicable. My Pap was always a caring, fair person. I hope James Cromwell is a nice person in real life.
I just want to say that I really dig your reaction, very genuine and entertaining, haven’t seen many people react to this movie, for me is a classic from Adam Sandler
Y'all should UA-cam the food they got to eat on the set. Goldberg would eat like 40 eggs for breakfast. Big guy was eating 4 whole chickens and taking some home . The steaks etc etc
The top 3 expenses in this movie: Burt Reynolds+ Adam Sandler+ The Soundtrack= Half the catering budget for millions of calories these guys needed every day.
Banger movie mang. I know you enjoyed this movie. Decibel level for this reaction was high enough to turn down the volume to where I can barely hear you when you are calm.
theres a british version of this, its a bit older and a bit nuttier, but "mean machine" is a good one, mostly for jason statham playing a murderous kung fu scotsman
Some other sports comedies to watch if so inclined; for football - “Necessary Roughness” and “The Replacements”, for baseball - “Major League”, and for hockey - “Slap Shot” and “Goon”. 👍🏻
Makes sense for bill Goldberg to be in the movie, saw him do the football tackle in the ring. Stone cold Steve Austin, probably did college football before he was a wrestler
Hey Devin I really think you would get a really good kick out of a couple really good comedies I enjoy wedding Crashers, or super troopers. Guarantee your stomach will hurt from laughing so hard
I remember the guard in the old movie, after the warden warning of the shooters, put his head through the wall, then an elbow smash making another hole. Don't remember much of this but a few jokes, and Holyfield saying he think he swallowed a finger.
It's rarely mentioned, but you can tell Adam Sandler really is a natural athlete. Even Michael Irvin was saying he was surprised at Adam's throwing ability. Said he was throwing tight 40 yard spirals all day, and every throw is real.
Forreal though he be hooping too
That poor ref.
Joey Diaz is the most underrated comedians actors, “can of corn, can of corn and I’ll be fine” 😂😂
Yeah i find his podcast hilarious
Joey Karate*
Let's keep him underrated. He just mumbles and grumbles out s**t that fat, drunk guys do at bbq's.
Yes!! lmao
His stories are hilarious!

Burt Reynolds as well, in fact he's probably the best casted considering his role in the original.
As well bill romanowski and Brian bosworth
Fun Fact: Deacon was played by Michael Irvin, an actual 3-Time Super Bowl champ. He played for the Cowboys.
Haven’t even seen the reaction yet but already know it’s gonna be 🔥 just like this movie selection keep it up bro!
Definitely fam! Appreciate you.
@21:24 The ref is Sandler’s childhood friend and writing and producing partner - also star of Grandma’s Boy.
Having some former WWE/WCW stars as well as a former Oklahoma Sooners player (Brian Bosworth) as the guards was genius.
Few nfl legends and players as well
Bill Romanowski's crazy ass fit his role well too.
the fact that you’re reacting to this just makes me sure that you’re the best in the game!!!!!
^^^
A movie that definitely fits your own description of a banger, is "Crank" starring Jason Statham. If you have the ability to do a reaction to that movie at some point, I highly recommend it... you won't be disappointed... guaranteed!!!
That movie was *intense*
You better make that request with a health warning.
Yes I love both crank films
Yes! That movie is awesome!
I absolutely hated crank lol.
I love this movie. You should watch the original that came out in 1974 as well. I personally like that one more because it has my dude Burt Reynolds in his prime. So it would be cool for my dude DevinG to react to my dude Burt Reynolds. Any Burt Reynolds movie would be fine. Love your reactions keep it up.👍🏻
The originals a good one!
Also, the actor who played the warden played the captain in the original.
The OG Longest Yard, Deliverance, Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, all great.
@@eddiecollison 100% yes to this!
@@juliodavila424 I didn’t catch that. Now I need to watch it again LOL
Thank you for your service! I've heard of that film . Ill keep that one in mind.
Master and Command doesn't get anywhere near as much praise as it should, it's a wonderful film.
Oh its fucking epic.
It was unlucky enough to come out the same year as LOTR cleaning up at the Oscars... deserved so much more than it got
Man this movie has such a great cast! I forgot Joey D was in this, with so many other greats!
the most underrated Sandler film imo, great reaction mate.
This movie has one of the best, manliest casts ever. Man, I just miss those times when people were cool and badass.
Agree. Miss seeing real men
Burt Reynolds is cool and badass; Adam Sandler not ... not even close. Of course, the real badass is Jack Nicholson as "Badass" Buddosky in "The Last Detail."
@@chrisbowling4060 You know Sandler isn’t the only other dude in the movie right??
You say that like it's a 100 year old movie
Yeah, Tracy Morgan and the cheerleaders were my favorite characters too
So many great actors, legendary wrestlers & badass football players in one movie. I’m a woman & this is one of my favorite movies.
My kind of woman! Great movie, full of Big Men, have you seen the original from 1974?
Such an underrated movie with a great cast of comedians Hollywood icons and wrestlers. What else can one ask for from a movie. And the tall guy Khali legit killed not just one guy but two. ( on accident)
I think you'd like the British remake too. It's called Mean Machine and had Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham from Snatch in it 🙂
FYI Burt Reynolds was the actor that played Paul Crewe in the original Longest Yard
Some of those guards and prisoners are former pros. Romanowski, Irvin, even Crews played in the league.
Bill Romanowski, Michael Irvin, Brian Bosworth…some good NFL inserts…
Lots of big names.. michael irvin, nelly, kevin nash, steve austin, brian bosworth, tracy morgan, joey diaz, the big man went by the wrestling name the great khali..
Yes sir! Irving played for the cowboys back in the day.
I am surprised you haven't done a reaction to Hacksaw Ridge, one of the best war movies out there based on a true story. Highly recommend it Devin.
That library scene was the turning point for cons having a good solid team
My favorite scene is there at the end. "That's a week in the hotbox!" "Who gives a shit?!"
This was a remake from a movie in the 70s, which also had a lot of former NFL players in it. Burt Renolds, who was the old coach for the convicts, was the quarterback for the convicts in that movie. Oh this is great! The exchange while they're watching the other team's tapes is priceless 😂 good choice ❤️🇨🇦
One of the greatest movies ever in my eyes 🙌
I haven't seen this film in years. Glad you reminded me about it. Can't believe Joey Diaz was in this and I never knew him before. JRE filled me in lol.
I always watch The Longest Yard and The Replacements at the start of every NFL season.
This movie was filmed in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the old state prison. Which had one of the deadliest riots in US history.
Hope you are doing well Devin! Thanks for the reaction! Haven’t even watched it yet, but thanks for making the days and evenings better with your videos!

Peter Segal is a great director... He did great comedys with many actors .... Many of them with Sandler...
Always thought it was awesome that old Burt Reynolds put the pads on and really took that hit.
Damn they got a bunch of WWE stars
...Stone Cold, Kevin Nash, Great Khali...🤔
Ex NFL players, guards, Bill Romanowski, Brian Bosworth… prisoners, #88 Michael Irvin…. Big black guy, MMA fighter Bob Sapp… prisoner’s RB, rapper Nelly… estrogen guard, Kevin Nash, WWE wrestler… sooooo much superstars in this movie… golfers, ESPN analysts. Of all the people on the field, Nelly asked Bob Sapp to take him out. When I first saw this, I got chills when meggit said that
Hard to believe the warden played the farmer in Babe (the sheep herding pig movie). In that movie he reminded me of my Pap (Papaw). I've seen this guy as a bad guy a few times since and he's despicable. My Pap was always a caring, fair person. I hope James Cromwell is a nice person in real life.
Courtney Cox was Adam Sandler’s girlfriend in the beginning of the movie, she played Monica in Friends
"Tank top screaming, Devin I don't fit you!"
The big dude is Bob Sapp, a juiced up ex football player that went to Japan to do some MMA and K1 early 2000's.
I just want to say that I really dig your reaction, very genuine and entertaining, haven’t seen many people react to this movie, for me is a classic from Adam Sandler
Bob Sapp (Switowski) actually has had a big carrier in Japan. Some of the things he's done over there is just hilarious.
Ok, I gotta pause for a minute and go listen to that Nelly song. 😁
Finally someone reacting to this🔥🔥👊
Y'all should UA-cam the food they got to eat on the set. Goldberg would eat like 40 eggs for breakfast. Big guy was eating 4 whole chickens and taking some home . The steaks etc etc
Burt Reynolds had this little part in this movie cause he played the Quarterback in the original, its cool they brought him in
you definitely gotta watch the movie called The Benchwarmers, its an absolute classic XD
The top 3 expenses in this movie:
Burt Reynolds+
Adam Sandler+
The Soundtrack= Half the catering budget for millions of calories these guys needed every day.
The Blind Side a good ass sports movie too bruh.
The look Torres gave that guard...
Banger movie mang. I know you enjoyed this movie. Decibel level for this reaction was high enough to turn down the volume to where I can barely hear you when you are calm.
He loves giving out them “4’s” lmao
The greatest film of all time
7:39 It's not even warm when they give it to you out the window, so no probably not 😂
25:48 that's rob Schneider. He's in all of Adam Sandlers movies. My favorite is his role in 50 first dates
Hey Devin , you should check out the original with Burt Reynolds (1974) it's brilliant but also a lot darker.
Great to see all my people's together.
The one convict Turley (the guy they said got the chair 3 times) used to be a cop in the Punjab State.
This was a remake I was totally behind, burt Reynolds was the original Paul crew, I loved that they brought him back.
This is an awesome movie. Its amazing what a difference he plays as a warden in this movie, compared to in the Green Mile. Polar opposites lol
Micheal Irvin (Cowboys legendary reciever) is the dude that is in the basketball 1v1, he wears 88 cause that was his number in the NFL
Hacksaw Ridge is good, hope its on the list somewhere down the line.
As much as I do love this movie, Friday Night Lights is still the best football movie ever made.
In the Original "Longest Yard", Burt Reynolds was Crewe!
This was a Who's Who of WWE/WCW Wrestlers, From Goldberg to The Great Khalie.
Great vídeo and great movie fun ! Congrats from Brazil !
Haven't rewatch that movie in years I'm hyped!!
This movie is a certified hood classic
I saw this in theaters with my dad when I was 15. My introduction to the great Joey Diaz
Burt Reynolds played in the Original movie The Longest Yard.
theres a british version of this, its a bit older and a bit nuttier, but "mean machine" is a good one, mostly for jason statham playing a murderous kung fu scotsman
Life (Eddie Murphy)
Hell or high water
Rounders
Fallen (Denzel)
Conan the destroyer
Remember the Titans
A man apart
Cliffhanger
I'm voting for The Replacements with Keanu Reeves.
After seeing u react to water boy I couldn’t wait to see u react to this.
Man you have to watch Gridiron Gang in the future. Solid movie you’d def enjoy
Some other sports comedies to watch if so inclined; for football - “Necessary Roughness” and “The Replacements”, for baseball - “Major League”, and for hockey - “Slap Shot” and “Goon”. 👍🏻
Switowski and Turley were wrestlers. That’s why they are huge
Love these reactions! Every movie reaction I've seen on this channel is great!
Im not the biggest Sanders fan, but this was funny.
Real funny movie with Jim Carrey: Liar Liar.
Other movie suggestion: Lord of War 2005
Makes sense for bill Goldberg to be in the movie, saw him do the football tackle in the ring. Stone cold Steve Austin, probably did college football before he was a wrestler
Hey Devin I really think you would get a really good kick out of a couple really good comedies I enjoy wedding Crashers, or super troopers. Guarantee your stomach will hurt from laughing so hard
The big guy you saw banging his head against the wall is also a former WWE superstar known as the Great Khali.
My guy D has put out another great reaction, showing why he is one of the best!
What up G, happy Sunday y’all.
…Way Of The Gun
Loved your reaction to this awesome movie, Brother. 6.5 awesome score 🙏🏾✝️✌🏽☮️💖💯...
This is a remake of a Bert Reynolds movie and Bert Reynolds's is in this movie
The big guy banging his head on the wall was a WWE superstar. He went by the name “The Great Kali”
I remember the guard in the old movie, after the warden warning of the shooters, put his head through the wall, then an elbow smash making another hole. Don't remember much of this but a few jokes, and Holyfield saying he think he swallowed a finger.
You always picking bangers to react to my guy. 👌
You're the best Mr.G in glad you enjoyed this classic!
AWESOME movie, but the Original is just as good. I bet that Burt Reynolds would agree. LOL. Nice Post.
Big guy that said I'll play. Then broke dudes nose in the next scene was the Great Khali
Just a good, fun movie with an excellent cast and great music.
I loved this movie thanks for the upload! 🙏🙌
youre on fire - keep it going. bunch of classics
