There's a pretty simple explanation actually. Recorded versions give you the ability to explore your creative without limitation. A live performance is such a limited environment (especially on a low budget) it's almost impossible to perform complex music with only a few musicians. In the studio you get to take advantage of the textural qualities of a wide variety of instruments and production techniques. This is nearly impossible live.
Best. Band. Ever.
This is crazy. I love their style of songwriting. This is easily as good as the album version.
One of my favorite videos on youtube.
life is romantic and beautiful with those musicians!!!!! so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you know where Fleet Foxes' "English House"-intro comes from. This is amazing right here.
this is one of the most insane live performances ive ever heard. un-fucking-believable.
I wish I knew of grizzly bear three years ago... I'd kill to have seen them live

Of Montreal and Grizzly bear on one bill is a tasty little morsel.
Awesome.. I get a nice peek into Good Records too!
They overproduce their CDS, unfortunately. I saw 'em live a little while ago and I couldn't help but wonder why they do it.
this is before they got big right? cause nobody in there is paying any attention..
