I too prefer the longer versions. I enjoy the storytelling and 'peeling back' on the House and the creativity involved...but I know that not everyone does, so the 2 Minute Breakdowns, help to get to the point fast!

I think I had mentioned it in the previous video, but Gris Charnel Extrait was absolutely beautiful on my skin, I just didn't get some the violet that you got when you sprayed it. I've smelt Tabac Rose before, and I haven't seen many tobacco + rose fragrances before, do you have any other recommendations of that combination?

I was turned onto Un Nuit Nomade last year and I think Jardin de Misfah is an incredible scent. In terms of the BDK, I just purchased Gris Charnel Extrait and Pas Ce Soir Extrait. Love the house. Nice episode! I'm new to bdk, have been playing with a discovery set with pas ce soir, gris charnal and rouge smoking. Absolutely love all 3, especially gris charnel. However, i have an issues with longevity. Maybe its just this set! PSC lasts 5 minutes on me! I'm really disappointed. I have to try the extrait next.
Pas ce soir confuses me. Many people like it, but I am of two minds about it. I’m waiting to smell the extrait version.
I'm a bit of a fan of Tabac Rose, and I'd say it's an easy one for the rose shy as well. To my nose, there isn't a distinct rose note, rather a rosy tone to the slight syrupyness that envelops the other parts during the opening and mid (with the plum as the lead player in that followed by the chocolate and the rose). The tobacco and woodiness emerges more as it dries down and that dissipates.
Just a personal impression... might wear it today!

I just got my very first niche sample yesterday. My wife and I are waiting to be awake at the same time before I try it, and sample it together. It's Xerjoff Naxos, and I'm excited to give it a go. Thanks for the informative videos, and I'll look into BDK for a future purchase
Excellent choice! Naxos is a good thing to try, as the quality and nifty construction are very much there, and it is easy to like. There is a complexity in how it is put together, but the overall effect seems fairly straightforward, so simply enjoying it as a beautiful fragrance is easy to do.
Glorious, accessible, rich, and uplifting. A personal favourite and staple. I hope you and your spouse enjoy!

Afternoon Marcelo Une Nuit Nomade stunning house. My favorite as follows Click Song dedicated to South African songstress who inspired lots of young Women to music, she's from Eastern Cape province or states language dominated by clicks dialect(Xhosa) when they speak, that's Nelson Mandela village, 2.Khandja amber 💣, 3. Love at first sight was left speechless because one note acacia which wild thorny tree in South Africa with bright yellow flowers, smells creamy can't wait for summer to sit under the tree and smell aroma under the tree. Great content as always 👌 from South Africa 🇿🇦 Joburg South
Cyril, I LOVE your breakdown on these!! It's clear that I'm really late to the party on Une Nuit Nomade!!! I've already read a number of comments here complimenting this House. It's one that we don't have in Australia and felt really special when I came across it in Paris.
I am testing currently the rest in the discovery set and will zero in on Click Song as this one caught my attention when I sprayed (loved the back story on this!)

@TheNicheFragranceCollector pleasure my friend summer just in the horizon for Southern Hemisphere.
I just wish that Roads did a more full (and more reasonably priced) discovery set.
The set you showed only has 5 fragrances in it (out of 18), and it’s £60 ($75 US, $117 AUS)... so not only is it a somewhat expensive way to try the brand but you can only sample less than a third of their lineup and there doesn’t seem to be any other way of trying the rest... 😅
After hearing what you’ve said about them I would love to try the brand, but I’m not one for blind buying and a number of the ones I want to try aren’t in the set they offer... they must be missing out on a bunch of business because I can’t be the only one with this problem... 😢

Velvet Tonka is my fave BDK so far. It is sweet, boozy, and sexy to my nose. I tried Vanille Leather in Harrods a few days ago. It smells like butterscotch in the opening to me (yum!). However, the drydown did not impress.
I normally do 3 to 4 sprays sometime more or less like today i got a 5 mill decant of nemer fro boadicea the victorious and well its strong but sits close to skin so 3 will be max i hate it for first 2 minutes but after love it lol.
I only have one from the house BDK, Sel d'argent, a nice fresh scent of the sea.

I truly adore BDK,, I own three fragrances: Gris charnel, Pas ce soir and Tubereuse imperiale,, everytime when I wear these perfumes I feel very feminine and sexy.

Congrats on 30k. I remember finding your channel at around ~5.5-6k with a Xerjoff video via the YT search function.
I'm pretty much done with BDK. Put them into the doghouse because their current creative direction is embarrassing - it has gotten so bad that they are outright copycatting designer now and it's not even a secret because the perfumers themselves are designer ones too. I think overall Benedek's work does lean feminine, don't find that much of a problem though. Just to play along: must haves are Gris Charnel EDP, Rouge Smoking. Necessary: Velvet Tonka, Gris Charnel Extrait. Hidden gems: Tabac Rose, Citrus Riviera.
Edit: Regarding Pas ce Soir Extrait, it was a bit less feminine than OG imo as it dries largely chocolatey pear. Loved the blending on it, but again - plenty of women all over the web from Fragrantica to IG are comping it to scents from JPG, Lancome, Mugler... it is a joke to price that at €240. Also, performance absolutely blew.
Could you turn up the volume a bit in the next Maté talk? Becomes a bit unproportionate compared to other videos when I have other sounds on my computer as well :D

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector I am not sure, I don't think I have experienced the same problem with ohter Mate Talks but I noticed it in this one. Usually the sound is perfect.
I tried a sample of Tabac Rose … I luv but I’m worried about the tobacco being too overpowering when sprayed from the full size bottle ,Your thoughts?
I find that for me the tobacco note is very moderate and extremely well tempered with the other notes.
If anything, I feel that the rose has more presence.
For me, this is a very ambery, almost tinging on gourmand, style of fragrance.
My recommendation is see if you can go into store somewhere and spray from a full bottle and see how that performs for you 💫

Great question but one that I'm not really equipped to answer. Since 2017 I've doubled down on all things 'niche' to the point that I gave away the massive collection of designer fragrance's that I had (I did have Sauvage at the time, but since haven't experienced any others in this line up)

If you’re able to get your hands on those 2 L’Orchestre Parfums fragrances - I’d recommend it!

I like the new idea of making videos with discovery sets, and for sure by making it available for shipping worldwide.
I want to check out Roads once I get Sahraa, also because the remark you made that the fragrance smells different from the scent of the sprayer (haven't expierenced that so far) and that they have a rich evolution.
I dislike the discovery package of Roads, 5x4 ml (If I empty a 2ml I know it's a winner) and no options to try more of the collection, only those 5 available, which makes the other collections blind buys?
