I think even if Sterek won't end up being in the show, this is still the furthest we have come as a fanbase to make our voices heard and the pairing recognized (in a non-negative sense). This is the best chance we've had so far for a fanon slash ship of two main characters to become canon. The sort of 'approval' it's gotten from all kinds of sides is amazing, really.
