Surely the tune would have been better after everything was fitted? Preventative maintenance is something that should be highlighted more often (even if it doesn't normally mean good content) we know how important it is! 👍
Nice refresh of the build. Really should of sent it to Chappy at Evolution Tuning for the final touches after the airbox, injections and Gturbo! Hopefully Ultimate Diesel kept the AFR's down to deliver that increased power to allow for reduced EGT's even with that bigger cooler. Cheers legends

I would agree on Turbo Yoda's opinion on the ZD30. It's not a bad engine. It is quite under powered for the weight of the vehicle. It is working really hard most of its life. The TD42 would have that extra capacity for what you are using the vehicle for. Still no replacement for displacement.
Rubbish. An underpowered engine does not "work hard". The TD42 is a part of history, and as for power and torque the TD42 makes far less than a ZD30, meaning in your terms it works even harder.
We have increased the ZD's performance and reliability so that it easily outperforms the td42 for relatively little money. Displacement is great when utilised in a efficient motor. The TD42 is anything but that.

If you have a brand new turbo and it’s smoking it could be because it’s got to much oil pressure to the turbo seals and it’s leaking through the seals and into the combustion chamber and lowering the pressure to it with a restricter will help and not blow the seals on your new turbo
