In Breakthrough you could save all the paratroopers though. I was 24 when that came out and I had like an entire platoon of saved paratroopers in Sicily it was really hard to keep them alive but once you got enough of them together the fire fights where epic as hell
I never bothered saving the nameless npc's. The only mission where i bothered to keep most of the npc's alive was the Nebelwerfer mission. Fucking Ramsey and his suicidal charge into the open.

So so so many good memories from my childhood from this game alone, playing in my uncle's internet café with the neighberhood kids, 1v1ing my trash-talking cousins, during ramadhan, we would fast the entire day, at night we would go pray in the mosque this special prayer that last +1 hour in one go, imagine, just preying for one hour straight, then after the prayer is finished, we would all flood into my uncle's internet café, that place would be PACKED at 11pm in the night, and people would be playing one round of TDM, after the other, sometimes rifle only, other time all guns are allowed, the shoutings, the teams forming and sitting next to each other so that the enemy team won't see them, and me, not having money, and my uncle not being able to ditch customers and give me their spot which they paid for it, I'd just sit there and watch the world go by as a kid waiting for my turn to play. Some nights I'd get money and be able to play, most of the nights I just sit down and watch, I watched a lot when I was a kid, you can say I even still watch now as an adult at the ripe age of 28. I'm crying thinking about my childhood, how innocent I was, how naive, not a care in the world, having everything I ever needed and never ever came to question it or be grateful for it, I've been living abroad for the past 6 years now, and all I could ask for is just one another fucking night at my uncle's internet café with not a single care in the world and the only problem I have in my head is to play a game of fucking Medal of Honor to shut my cousin't mouth for good. God, I miss my childhood. I miss this game. I still remember the sense of bewilderment just seeing other people play it on LAN and having the time of their lives. In a way, I envy them, they had the pleasure of experiencing gaming at its finest, when it was a method to bring people together, now everything is online... Sorry, I hope you see this. I would also love to hear how this game relates to your childhood.

"Powell, look for a plunger. We believe the enemy has the bridge wired for detonation. You've got to stop them from pressing that plunger at all costs."
I know I'm late to responding to your comment, but you need to get it right for everybody is incorrectly attributing this score to Michael Gicchino when they should be given thanks to Aaron Copeland who came up with the FanFare For The Common Man which everybody who plays this series is hearing as the theme.
@@frankrodriguez6998Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man is an amazing piece, but it is *not* a part of this game’s score. That being said, John Williams paid homage to Copland with many of his scores through the 80s and 90s - none more than with his score for Saving Private Ryan. This game series was made by a division of Dreamworks, the production company of Steven Spielberg, who also made Saving Private Ryan. I’m sure Michael Giacchino was told to mimic the tone and feel of William’s score, which channels Copland to a degree also.
