Can't jam a couple 12" augers into that pile to feed both the carts at the same time? Keep it pushed up with the skid steer... excavator just seems real expensive to run
Along with WHT was already said. Doing it that way is hard on gear boxes, we tried it that way one year at the elevator I worked at. An excavator or a big loader is the most efficient
@@koryleague8833 Now I'm imagining a PTO driven one, powered off a hydraulic motor to get rid of the angle box. Imagine they're still a roller chain up at the top end... Set up a gravity wagon up on a stand so the guy running it over to the pit can fill in seconds for a quick turnaround. But I'm just full of mickey mouse solutions, haha!
Wheel loaders are good but they do cause a lot of FM cause they crush the corn that they drive on. We can load 1300 bu in four and half minutes so it’s pretty quick
It’s like a combination lock you have to go so many to the left and then a couple to the right. Otherwise your hydraulic hoses will snap and then you’ll be broke down. 🤪🤪🤪🤪
@@groeupfarms interesting. I’m from south east sask and it’s mainly cereal crops here, we actually have the biggest inland grain elevator in Canada (which was locally owned by farmers for generations until about 10 years ago) and are the largest inland grain gathering point in Canada. And I have never even heard of that. Then again I’ve driven by maybe 50 crops of corn my entire life around where I’m from. Great to see how different places do things
Two reasons we don’t use a cb. One is the excavator is 24 system would have to get a 24 volt cb. And 2 is it’s hard to use a cb when both your hands are busy running the excavator. The excavator has a horn button right on the joystick so real easy to hit it 👍
Got to love the elevator. They nail you if you are 1% off on your moisture or FM, but then they dump it all out back on the ground 🙄
When they charge you for drying but do not dry it is what gets me 😣
But......if the elevator didn't dock for fm and moisture, can you imagine the junk they would get?
Retired from the grain business after 45 years.
Great job loading wagons
Thanks. Filled so many I feel like I could do it in my sleep
Great video
Thanks

Excavator runs pretty efficiently. Beside safety reasons with an open auger be hard to get power to the augers without cords everywhere

@@groeupfarms Suppose a cord on the ground would be a pain when pushing it up, and a PTO one would be difficult too.

Would a wheel loader not be more efficient

How do you keep track of the left and right rotations to keep from unscrewing your top from the bottom? 😂
Good job out there 👍👍👍

Offda, can’t afford break downs, millions of people on welfare are counting on you to keep a swingin’
Why do you pile it? Not enough bin space?
The pile is at a co-op elevator. It’s their over flow when they go full at harvest

I dont know how much of this work you do but u may check into a speedloader bucket. They are faster and less work on the operator.
We looked in to that bucket. But for what we do we thought it was to expensive so we built this bucket thanks for the idea though 👍
Need a bigger bucket!!
That would be nice but then I would need a bigger excavator 😎
Why even cover it ?
@@rengoetz sometimes they wait till summer to pick it up. So could be 5-6 months
At 100 bushels a scoop that will be 20,000 scoops to get that pile gone
Ya it’s a lot of swinging
Imagine if that was all candy corn? Commenting for the 10 year old child hiding in this 65 year old man.
I would mix peanuts in with it 👍
Well a guy can get quite a lot done but looking at what you guys got done don't make it look like I got anything done that's a nice pile
It’s definitely not going to get done in a day. Can take over a month sometimes. Waiting on trains and storage space
The old CB’s would be handy instead of the horn

Congratulations on the daughters wedding 😊
Thank you It was a great day
Good boj brother
Thanks 👍
Well I have 2 sons so I'm hopeful the Weddings some day won't be too Expensive
I think weddings are way over priced. But how does a guy say no to a daughter. Time flies to fast enjoy your time with your sons.
