    A strong hive will corral and combat the hive beetle. Adding additional population to a weak hive and a smaller space are time tested techniques to combat this pest. Did you know grub x is from the same company (Scott) that is well known for their bee killing chemicals? The hives you display on your channel are classic organic substitutes to the modern Lang which was developed for commercial honey purpose and bee cultivation. Dr. Leo a major proponent of natural bee keeping and the modern father of layens would cringe seeing you use this chemical!

      @@jkd0114 you are 100% correct. This was not an easy choice. Hive beetles have grown each year in numbers the past three years in our area. I have lost a hive the past three summers being slimed out and the bees absconding. Couple of those were from high heat index temperatures, and comb collapse. I thought it would be wise just to try this this season to see if it would make a difference. My hives at this location are all very strong, but as you can see, you can still have beetle problems.       @@simplytopbarbeekeeping2107 only the strong survive….these are the genetics you want to promote and the best thing you can do for the bees
