Just a word of thanks for all of your videos, different voltage than we have in Northern Ireland, but that's ok lol, i have enjoyed and also learnt a lot from your videos; so thank you so much, its all excellent. especially the electrical!
Can you do a video on how to "wire" the CerboGX Relay 1 to an onboard generator. There are many videos showing how to "configure" the Cerbo but I have found very little regarding the physical wiring and components needed between the Cerbo and the generator itself. Thanks!
Do you have a link to a fancy tank geometry calculator? I have the s&b 35 gallon over the wheel well tank but not sure how to do the custom percentages
I have a similar sender unit in my 130L tank and I bought an analog meter for it. Very handy 😃 The cerbo system is great but I think I don't need it. It is not cheap ☺️
Just a point, the step resolution on most of these units is 21mm. So if you expect to see your tank measurement moving in 1 or 2% steps you will be disappointed just as I was. Apparently there are 4.5mm step units but I can’t find one.
Got this to work with the system I purchased from you. Thanks so much! The screen will be in the front of the van. I'd like to add an analog gauge in the back near the gravity fill. Is it possible to connect the Cerbo and an analog gauge to the same sending unit? If so, what would the wiring look like? If not, is it better to just add a second sending unit for the analog gauge, so two in one tank? Thank you.
Hi Nate , excellent video as always , have you a video on getting theVictron cerbo gx to display the watts when connected to shore power or do i need a ct clamp also my cerbo dosent obey my max amperage from shore power eg when max is set to 10A i could be getting 17A measured with multi meter , are these two items related thanks, Phil in Ireland.
Hey thanks for this! I’m experiencing an issue where my cerbo says the tank is “disconnected” - i had to wire up an extension using butt connectors could that be an issue?
Thanks for all the great videos. I was programming a sensor just this morning. with GAS. I ran into a problem with the "custom" setting. it would only read two of them.. like when it showed 65 it wa really 62%.. and at 55% it was really 48% but when I added the 3rd, pair, it never read it... tried several ideas but the when 3rd was at 41% it should have said 35%. but it always just showed 41. any ideas? It deos have the latest Cerbo build 3.00~42 wondering if there is a bug? THanks again for the Blogs and Videos.
For volume; I'd probably just calculate as if the baffle balls weren't there. As for them getting stuck on the sensor and not letting it float correctly? I have no suggestions there. 🤷♂️😂
Totally off-topic, but I think I want to add one of those sensors to my sump pump. It would be nice to know the water level without having to look down in the pit.
@@onionhead5780 Since the output is a resistor I could use it as part of a voltage divider to monitor the level, although it wouldn't be linear. I could hook that up to a microcontroller with a 20 line program to re-linearize it and display fill % on a display. Several more lines and I could have it text my phone if the level gets too high, before it overflows. I have a similar setup on my waterheater monitoring temperature because it overheated once.
Great stuff, ive had an issue finding a sensor for my house water reservoir which is more of a cistern that a water tank, measures 3.20 meter deep.. anyone know of a sensor that can be hooked up to the cerbo gx? Yes i bought the sensor full version not the lite version, as i anticipated doing this. Thanks
Your videos are amazing and very helpful. I'm sure I missed it, but what did you select a transit for this project? Do you prefer the transit over the MB Sprinter? Thanks
Transit is more powerful, a heavier payload, and there is a Ford Dealership about 5 minutes from our house where the nearest Mercedes dealer is about 3 hours away.
@EXPLORIST life - DIY Campers thank you for the quick reply. Totally make sense. I did pull the trigger on a new 2023 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter all-wheel drive 170. Diesel engine and resale value was my motivating factors. I'm ingrained in watching your videos. Thank you for all you do. I'm sure I will be in touch for the items that you offer.
Sure! Just program and code it all in there! Or if you prefer the easy solution, just get the cerbo and follow the videos instructions. Shop.explorist.life
Realistically, you should get the screen. That would be like getting a computer without a monitor... sure you could connect to it like a remote server, but ultimately for 99% of people; the screen is going to be a must; if for nothing else; for configuring the device.
Hey, Esteban M! I appreciate you taking the time to ask your question, but unfortunately, I don't have enough info about your specific question to provide an accurate answer, but here is a playlist that, if you watch all of the videos start-to-finish (and take notes 😉), you'll have a REALLY good idea of how to design a solar array: ua-cam.com/video/Jkbs84sBHsg/v-deo.html Alternatively, I have some of my most common solar array setups pre-built here: shop.explorist.life/product-category/all-products/camper-wiring-kits/solar-charging-wiring-kits/
Hello, excellent video. By this means I am contacting you to make a consultation. I am from Paraguay and more or less in November of last year I set up a mini generation system with EV equipment, currently I would like to implement sensors for ambient temperature, surface temperature of panels, humidity and solar radiation, but no matter how much I search I cannot find it. the local market. That is why I want to appeal to your help to see if you can provide me with the number of a company that is dedicated to the sale of sensors compatible with EV equipment. Likewise, I would like to appeal for your help in relation to some technical data that I do not know regarding the Cerbo GX and the Quattro Inverter. Cerbo GX. What is the current range in which the terminals for resistive sensors, temperature sensors and digital signal sensors operate? Lots of videos talking about this but none explain as well and make it look as easy as Nate. Thank you
Awesome! Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
Perfect timing. I was just starting to look into this as an add on to my cerbo.
Thanks

I second this request 😊
Agreed. I’d love to see this for the Cerbo and a Onan/Cummins
This is an excellent video loaded with detailed, clear step-by-step info. Thank you for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Thanks for this concise and informative video, well-explained without unnecessary tangents.
Thanks Nate. Helpful to see it done
Hey Dan Peerbolte, No problem! Glad it helped! :)
Is there a way to wire a single sensor to *both* an analog physical gauge and the CerboGX?
Awesome as always!👏🏽👏🏽
Great, Thanks!! 👍
How about doing a video on sensors that stick on the outside of the tank. Those ones with the floatie part don't work well in black water tanks
Do you have a link to a fancy tank geometry calculator? I have the s&b 35 gallon over the wheel well tank but not sure how to do the custom percentages

Loved it!!
Thanks! 🙂🙌
Great video! Do you maybe know if that levelsensor also works on the GX Tank 140?
Super clear video... thank you! BTW does the voltage of the sensor (strange that it has a voltage as it is only a resistance) matter?
HI Nate. Where do you get the plug block that the sensor wires connect? The block that has the 4 plugs on it.

Great video! I wonder if you can help. My tank sensors on my verbiage GC are suddenly showing “disconnected.” How do I reconnect them!?
I am trying to understand if the Cerbo Gx or the GX tank 140 can be used to monitor tanks that have the Acu gauge Ultra 8 strips on them. Thanks

Nice video . What is the resistance of sensor I should look for ?
The sensor we used is listed in the pinned comment. 🙂👍
Hey Nate can you do a video on how to connect a wind Anemometer to cerbo?
I want to use it to park up a solar tracking unit, TIA 🇦🇺
Nice job Nate. I’m wondering if such a tank sensor can be wired to both an analog meter as well as the Cerbo GX at the same time?
Haven't tried that one. Bench test it and let me know how it goes!
How did the bench test go? I have the same issue. WEMA resistive sensors (0 -1 80 ohms) connected to analogue gauges that would be nice to retain.

where is the actual video of the install of the float valve? Can't find it on your channel. You reference it, but I can not find it.
Look for the 'Plumbing' video we released in our van build playlist in 2022/2023.
Do you have any tips on how to use those levels if you are installing baffle balls?
For volume; I'd probably just calculate as if the baffle balls weren't there. As for them getting stuck on the sensor and not letting it float correctly? I have no suggestions there. 🤷♂️😂
@@EXPLORISTlife thanks! It nay occurred to me after watching your video that the slider could get stuck. I might have to put it in a tube…
Totally off-topic, but I think I want to add one of those sensors to my sump pump. It would be nice to know the water level without having to look down in the pit.
That’s a lot of expense with all the different items needed and labor to complete the project just to be curios. 👀

What size wiring is recommended to extend to the sensor to the Cerbo?
16 is fine.
I already have a raspberry pi and these float sensors any way to get this connected with venus w/o a cerbo?

If it is filled with fuel, is it safe because there is electricity?
If the sensor is rated for fuel; it is appropriate.
But I have 5 tanks on my boat that I need to monitor. 😢
