Wow! Great final match. Both team captains bowled the 10th frame superbly (Frilingos' clutch conversion on the split & Hayes' pressure-packed must-strike on the first throw to win).
Hollywood put himself over Jared multiple times even though Jared was on the whole time and is a much better bowler.
I agree. Hollywood made a critical error in his judgement in the 10th. He has not been as consistent as Jarrod in striking. But, he is the captain and, as such, he has to swallow the defeat. All in all, it was a good final event. And they should not be playing solely on one lane. They should be alternating lanes as in regular bowling to make it more fair for each team. i was surprised to see Belmo's team go down so quickly. The Aussie's truly have some talented bowlers.
THey should have used Langford in the last 10th frame, The kid's a stud!
I think that Hollywood chose badly twice... 1st Choosing that lane to play on. 2nd He should have let Jarrod throw in the 10th frame. Other then that, it was a great and very close game! That all said I do have 2 questions here.... Can any American bowlers enter in this event and play? If so, do they have to be professional bowlers or can they be amateur bowlers?
It's why George is an ordinary captain. I'm a Queenslander, and I was rooting for the Victorian team in the final lol In that situation, surely you pick Jarrod, who has basically struck everything, except a couple unlucky breaks. But, typical George chooses himself.
BTW George did not pick the lanes the captain of Vic allstars did just to correct Mr Krafts comment. However i must agree on having Jarrod bowling the 10th instead of himself.
ALBERTO MADEIRA JR Why did the Vic captain get to choose the lane? The Qld team should have picked as they were the first team in the grand final. And yes I agree I would have liked to have seen Jarrod throw the tenth frame too.
I think whoever was the higher seed gets to pick lanes
I think they need to bowl on alternate lanes just as you would in any tournament or league. It's only fair they both teams bowl on both lanes. Also I suggest that they make the 10th frame more interesting. Have all 3 players bowl one ball each in the 10th in the same order as they bowled the first 9 frames. This would mean the captains would need to carefully consider the order as the 10th frame could be crucial (as it often is).
@Michael Duncan The wait and the lane changing before you next time up is very challenging. It means you have to communicate with your team a lot. Its not like one person is just bowling on one lane.
