Can a Syma X8C X8W handle a 4S battery? Part 2 - Motor Limitations

- Many people have successfully used a 3S battery with their Syma X8C or X8W. So what happens if you use a 14.8V 4S battery? This video shows the limitations of the motors. More volts puts a lot more stress on the motors, and can help you identify a weak motor.
i use 3s battery on my symax8 hc works perfekct for my 2 axis gimbol. No point to stepp up to 14.8v engines not handel that power tells its self.
I agree! I saw a lot of people on UA-cam using 3S batteries and I was trying to figure out why I didn't find any 4S battery videos. I figured I would create my own to discourage others from attempting the modification. Thanks for watching!
please help me with my setup I can't get mine to fly right with the 3 cell battery pack. It is not fail safe enough to fly it . Sometimes it just stops resets in the air and and it drops. It seems like after about two minutes that then I can fly the drone correctly but when the packs are fully charged I can't run anything past 25% throttle.
Ulises Batalla Two things: (1) Check your control board for any components that might be fried - as you can see from my other video, a capacitor exploded when exposed to 15 volts, even though it was rated to 16 volts. (2) If you can fly for 2 minutes before it drops, it sounds like the Mosfets are overheating. The Mosfets are the four tall black and silver components. As the voltage increases, so does the current, and that creates a lot of heat in a small space.
ITS REALLY A AWESOME TEST.
have you tried the same things adding the batteries in parallel.
may this help the syma x8c to mod adding more battery in parallel and will get more air time, near about 30min.
parallel circuit will help to keep voltage same as needed and only thing might possible is amp might hit the machine to blow up. but it can be handled by current protection circuit
hope you try and give some more readings to get some good conclusions.
Thank you for your kind words! Please look at my other videos, I did actually parallel 2 batteries. The results were about a 50% increase in flight time. It was not that much more because the added weight caused the X8 to work harder. 10 minutes of flight instead of 6-7 minutes. The higher voltage and better C rating did allow the X8 to fly strong even with the added weight.
hey guys i need help with my syma x8w one of my motors burn (heat)out and dont know how to fix do i need to buy a new motor or put silicon grease on it.
If it is really burnt out and does not turn, then you need to buy a replacement motor because the brushes are shot and are not replaceable. Grease is something you put between the motor and the gear. When you get a new motor, be sure to grease it up.
+Rendus4 ok tx.
Rendus4 will it handle a 3 cell
nice vídeo my friend. who barety recommend for the upgrade syma x8. Saludos from Chile.
FEÑA BICIADOS You could use a 3S battery for more power, but some people have reported problems even with a 3S. Safest battery upgrade is to use a high capacity 2S battery with a 30+ C rating.
something like that / ¿Turnigy 3000mAh 2S 30C Lipo Pack? thank / Thanks friend, very good your videos! Desde Chile con cariño!
Yes, but you may have to mount the battery outside because it probably won't fit inside!
raise the voltage of all the caps to 25 volts
syma x5hc board can take 7.4v 2s battery?
Sorry, I don't have an X5 to test it on.
Can it handle a 3s battery or do I need to change something on the board for it to work
It should work, but some people report problems even with a 3S battery. It's hit or miss.
That is like putting 220 volts on a 120 volt motor .
use the LM2696 step down module to make it safe. thats it
So clever
Try on every other drones you have
