Well I can see that littering is not just a stateside thing! it appalls me the things that people throw away with no conviction or thought. thank you for policing the area Sandy. and you Mandy and family have a Merry Christmas! and to all watching. ECF
Litter is an ever present feature of our modern world. Its so depressing to visit what you expect to be a beautiful location only to find litter everywhere. I live in Co Kerry in southwest Ireland in a small coastal community. I am part of an active local group who with the cooperation of our council carry out regular litter picks in the surrounding countryside and we also maintain the village throughout the year. I am proud to say that our community looks so clean and tidy. its great for tourism but its nice for ourselves too. I would encourage community groups everywhere to approach your local council and put an arrangement in place where volunteers will pick litter and the council will remove full bags and pay for their disposal. Wishing you and yours a happy healthy Christmas and 2024..
Thanks Ivan, it sounds like you have created a little bit of Paradise. It is not nice seeing litter and there really is no excuse for it being left there. All the best to you for Christmas too:)
Good to see you have recovered, Sandy. Hope you had a good Christmas. Thanks for the videos throughout the year. Always watchable. Best wishes for 2024.

Aw man, pigs in blankets under a tarp. Superb. I’m off to the solstice at Stonehenge in 6 hours. Seeing this, I wish I’d planned ahead and got my Kit together to cook a bacon butty in the kings barrows beforehand. Well done on the litter pick

Hi David, I have a seat like that with legs but they aways sink in the mud and also just a bit too tall for some of the smaller hot tents. The ground chair will be fine for now.
Great video Sandy. But please always get the landowner permission as they might have a problem with deer and the stalker needs to know if anyone else is on the land. Just be careful
It is always best to seek permission I agree but there's not a chance of anyone stalking deer with a centre fire rifle in this woodland, the angles of fire from adjacent private land would mean the shooter is shooting towards public park land. In any case the chances of catching a stray bullet are so extremely rare. A good stalker will always know where his bullet will stop

I am very glad to see that your health has come back to the point of you being able to get back to what you love to do in the outdoors. It just shows that you can still enjoy an outdoors adventure and not have to spend the whole night out in order to do so. It is always a pretty good idea to scout out your camping possibilities before you head out fully loaded with camping gear and supplies. It is not always feasible to do this but a great idea if you do happen to have have the opportunity. The area that you chose looks pretty promising though so it was great to give it a look. Thanks as always for letting us join you. Have a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year (both you and your family and friends!) See you on the next one wherever it might be.
All the best for Christmas and the New year Terry, a scout out is wise, I need to reacquaint myself with these woodlands again before camping here, they were trashed a while back which is so sad, but it's looking better again now

Sandy thanks for sharing this video and all the other great videos regardless of their content in 2023, and that shelter is great, nice to have something a bit different. You cooked a lovely meal which makes the videos more interesting more so than the readymade ones and that little table helped a lot, have a wonderful Christmas and new year with your family not forgetting the new addition 👋
Nice little day shelter that, W.M. Good job by that Mr. Tightwad. A fine meal, a fine little camp, and good deeds done. Perfick! All the best to the Wiltshire Man household, and hope all are well. First Xmas with the first grandchild, right? Nice! The old Opinels do the job, don’t they? I use one as a kitchen knife in the house. I’ve often wondered whether one of your long handled Wasps(?), with a flat grind of some sort, might make a good ‘camp utility’ knife, but even if you did that I’d stand more chance of getting an Opinel 😂 ! Cheers!
Thanks Rob, the shelter made it quite a cosy experience, I think I'll always pack a shelter if I intend on being out for a longer time. Have a good Christmas and New year Rob. Sandy

Merry Christmas to you and yours, glad to see you are better, your last vid set up would make a great future whisky and fireside chat edition
Ah, a nice Whiskey a single malt would go down very well
Glad to hear you're on the mend , Sandy. Love the shelter - might have to buy some rip-stop and dig-out my sewing machine! Hope you, Mandy and your family have a great Christmas and New Year.
If you can work out the geometry Steve this shelter is worth it, I think I shall use it a bit more going forward. Are you doing any Winter camping in your woodland?
@@WiltshireMan Camping on-hold at the moment as Mo (my wife) managed to break her wrist quite badly last week (slipped on a wet pavement), so I'm needed around the house. As soon as she's healed, I want to try out my new hammock set-up. Look forward to camping with you in 2024.
Steve, That's awful, sorry to hear about Mo's accident! I hope she is soon fit and well. Sounds like your going to have to stay hunkered down for the next few weeks. I hope you are both still going to enjoy some Christmas spirit though.
See you next year!

Nice time out in the woods video. Thanks for taking us all along with you. Any chance of a Hamshack Sunday vid? Must be going on 2 years since the last one. All the best from Tasmania. Cheers.
I quite like the camo on the trap 👍

Merry Christmas Sandy. Great video and very nice meal all in one bowl.😊😊😊
Merry Christmas Stan:)
Thanks Philip, Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the New year also:)
DD tarps have a simple shelter that is similar to this, cheers from New Zealand and have a carefree Christmas
They are very versatile tarps John
Cheers!
Cool day camp Sandy. Merry Christmas to you and yours. All the best.
Thanks Rob, the shelter made it quite a cosy experience, I think I'll always pack a shelter if I intend on being out for a longer time.
Have a good Christmas and New year Rob.
Sandy
Looked a lovely outing bro and a hot meal to boot. Finally got a week of fine weather here but the 27c days were not pleasant. Back to rain tomorrow but 18c over night. Safe travels over the festive season from NZ. Ken.
It looks like we are going to have a very mild Christmas day tomorrow Ken, They forecast 15C but turning colder afterwards.
Merry Christmas.
