We have belt conveyor with 150 meter length ( c to c ) , we face problem after 6 month in operation. Top section extremly tracking when there is no material on the BC but ir will be center if material coming. Is this related with the tension ?
Typically, when a conveyor belt lifts out of the troughed idlers when unloaded but sits into the troughed idlers when loaded, the belt has too much tension. When the belt is over-tensioned and elevates out of the idlers, it will be very difficult to track properly because the idlers cannot influence the belt to track correctly. You may want to reduce some of the tension on the belt in order for it to lay into the carrying idlers, which should correct the problem.
Thanks for the question! Either system will apply tension to the belt. Added tension to a belt will not necessarily correct a belt mistracking problem. Too much tension can actually make tracking a conveyor more difficult. The type of tensioning device used in a conveyor belt is irrelevant to tracking a belt properly.

for 50m belt conveyor line is it advisable to used the screw type belt tensioning mechanism or VGTU system
