Something I really appreciate about this comic is that they don’t treat being left behind to take care of children like it’s a bad thing. In My Pride when nothing is left behind to care for the Cubs everyone jeeres and laughs at her, but hope seems eager to care for young! After all they are the future of the pride. It’s very similar to how a lot of jobs in society are kind of looked down upon, despite being incredibly important. I appreciate that Hope it’s not just some generic adventurous female protagonist. She actually has her own goals. Hope doesn’t have to be the biggest scariest Lionesse in the pride, she doesn’t have to be the greatest hunter, she doesn’t even have to really be a hunter or scout. All she wants is to be appreciated. This is a lot more relatable to people who struggle with the lack of societal appreciation, whether it be due to physical or mental disabilities, then Nothing’s blind ambition. The want to be appreciated and valued is something everyone wants, but physically, mentally, or learning disabled people are told we will never really get. I also appreciate the way that Hope’s mother is portrayed. Tbh she’s a selfish abuser who wanted a trophy daughter that she didn’t get. I’m sick and tired of the “I just want to protect you 💕✨🥺✨💕” narrative that’s always portrayed in these kinds of stories. They always try to make the abuser seem sympathetic and conflicted, which ends up undermining and in validating the damage that they cause. I really hope her mother doesn’t get a redemption arch.
This was so nice. I like how her sisters and aunts aren't meant to her. They still try to encourage her which in turn gives her more hope lol. The little mini-stories are interesting too!
I love that her aunt refused to add the less unto her name. I get she couldn't abject because it was clear it was the mom's right to pick the name but just using hope when she's talking to her is clever

I love the detail of the spots on the cubs, and them disappearing when they grow up, very nice detail!! Loving this comic a lot, and loving the voice acting❤️
Hey, and thank you so much for coming to watch Episode 2! For a few reasons, there have been a few people who have mentioned that this story is very similar to "My Pride!" Let's clear this up for anyone wondering! I Hope So started out as a My Pride AU, where Detective Calico decided to present in comic form, but ultimately decided that building their own world and characters from the ground up was a better way to tell the story they wanted to tell. They have done their best to do things as differently as they could - but obviously, they knew from the beginning that there would be similarities between the two stories. This is inevitable, given the origins of the comic, which is why the show is cited as an inspiration and has been since the comic began almost two years ago. Of course, we are not too concerned that people point out the similarities because they are there! However, please remain aware that this dub is a fan project and a lot of individuals worked super hard to put this project together. All we want to do is bring Detective Calico's work to life - and I have zero control over the comic's plot line or characters (which do develop into their own thing entirely in time.) With that being said, thank you for your ongoing support! Here's to the wonderful VAs!
It's ok because all stories usually are based off of other stories also yes just clearly see the similar things but I mostly see is how the characters roles are played out so if u want the story a bit different maybe try adding bits of differences of the personality of each character BTW just a suggestion from,eclipse ps. i'm seriously enjoying this. i particularly like the hunting segment and how the story takes time to breathe and show us how they get by day-by-day. but at the same time, its has purpose outside of that. the bit about tracking and catching the vulture helps us learn more about adamant and the family dynamic between the lionesses. theyre not always just sitting around talking, but doing animalistic things. it makes you appreciate them as anthropomorphized **animals,** NOT just human characters with the appearance of lions.
Damn I know that feel, the feel of having contradictory parents that expect two different things from you, then constantly verbally abuse you over not doing what they expect.
Absolutely loving these! I already read and adore the comic but this is such a nice little topping on the cake to add even more life to these characters in this world. Excited to see more! And certain characters/scenes :3c

Little nitpick: I like the presence Vicious’s voice carries, but it doesn’t seem like there’s much range in volume or tone, and there can be a biiit of over-annunciation at times. Just a bit of feedback.

This will never be compared to MP ever, this is so good and it is a comic not even animated. Also Viscous is a ablest bit&h but at least she keeps it consistent and does not change motives through the story.

Okay. So uhm. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. I may or may not be crying from how sad the last part was, and how heart-warming it was to see Clever call Hopeless, Hope.
Small nitpick to the artist at 7:20; vultures have extremely dull talons, as well as weak feet when it comes to grasping, not at all like eagles. They couldn't scratch like that if they wanted to. (Although I'm aware that's no fault of yours, you are the voice actor, not the artist.) One nitpick I have to the actual audio is that, also at 7:20, is that vultures are essentially silent animals; they can growl and hiss somewhat, but they can't 'caw' they way the crow sound effects placed in there would make one assume. Great work however, I'm already entrenched into this series :D
Honestly, I lost some respect after the My Pride creator kinda shrugged off any help for season 2 (Which to this day I'm still confused about. I think it was a pride -no pun intended- thing but the fans wanted to help so badly and were just kinda ignored?). I also felt the story start to go kinda everywhere. I feel I Hope So is a much more put together version, but yet it's own thing at the same time. This honestly is so refreshing and I'm loving it so much better.
