I'm so fed up of people debating whether Saka should be playing. He should be first on the team sheet. 11 man of the match performances in his last 38 England games. He always has something in him, unlike any of the other 9 outfield players. At Arsenal we know how good he is. He is the first name on the team sheet.

Start Shaw at LWB, and Saka on the right.. because he's our best option there without a doubt...
Then around 70-75 mins when Shaw's blowing out of his ar5e, bring on Cole Palmer for Shaw, switch Saka to the left, which allows us to play both Saka and palmer on either side, switching it up too if you like, or leave Palmer on the left and keep Saka on the right, but it's a win win either way.

One of the few players in recent times to transfer club form to the England side and justify his continual inclusion. People weren't saying drop Saka. They were rightly saying to move Saka to the left and play Palmer because Foden was poor. Foden just got in the way of both Kane and Bellingham. Saka on the left was a perfectly reasonable suggestion to balance up the team. Saka on the left stretches that side enabling space for Bellingham. Palmer progresses the ball at a higher rate than any of the 3 and has more shot creating actions so you have him feeding the ball into the box from the right. When we did play this way our team balance was significantly better.

Palmer needs to start ahead of Foden or Bellingham. If anyone should start ahead of Saka on the wing, it would be a winger - Jarod Bowen. Palmer isn't a winger, he is a No.10. Bowen isn't as good a player as Saka, but his style of play would serve Harry Kane with more chances. And certainly, Gordon should have more time on the left. Southgate have not awoken to the fact yet that this tournament is for your younger unknown players. Look at Spain and Turkey. Even Mainoo is bossing it. Play Gordon and Palmer. Lastly, Ezri Konsa bosses it more than Guehi did.
