  • With the double track in full operation and Brightline running a full schedule of test trains while they await final FRA approval the rails are a busy place between West Palm and Ft Lauderdale. In about an hour I caught five trains -- Brightred and Brightgreen both in each direction and FEC's hotshot train 101.

Very cool! Just something about watching a passenger train at night. The clouds lit by the city lights made for a nice backdrop. 👍

Awesome! Is it me, or was that BrightPink rather than Red? Also, at 1:57, that isn't BrightGreen.

Finally the brightline is doing 79mph! I cant wait to see how it compares to 120mph and the JR line shinkansen in Teksas

are there any areas where brightline goes through its maximum speed or it's just the hypothetical speed of the charger?

In the areas where they are currently operating, they are restricted to 79mph. In areas in the future they will get up to 125mph.

hate to say it but just a matter of time until some bozo gets hit at a crossing and train goes flying off tracks. too many crossings. then u will hear I told u so

David Anderson we seem to manage okay in europe. Perhaps if US federal rail standards mandated fences and crossings that consist of little more than a couple of planks of wood with fairy lights on, crossing deaths might be reduced.
In the UK, our last rail accident passenger death was 11 years ago, our little 2 and 3 car multiple units operate up to 100mph and our mainlines 125mph.
US railways can at best be compared with Indian Railways in terms of safety (although even they seem to have better luck keeping their trains from falling off the track).

It's a Federal Regulation that the horn be used.

It's a normal thing here in the United States. I assume they do that because of the many accidents we have here.

óScar Averio It's to warn drivers who all to common in the US go around the railroad crossing barriers when active.

Considering the fact 2 people already died from getting hit by Brightline in 6 days you would think people would here the horn
