What's flavour like on these coils? When I bought a 5m roll of wire pre made alien wire it pretty much ruined the flavour so I've never messed with it. Any advice is much appreciated :)
Michael Butler any time you buy that premade Chinese wire garbage you get what you pay for. Prebuilt coils made by a local builder are totally different. And yes the flavor is amazing

I’ve been building coils for over a year. Just never made wire. Been using a drill to straighten all my wire since my first build. I’ve got loads of wire, just needed 36 gauge. Got a vice and most types of pliers. Very patient with this sort of stuff as well :) Keep up what you’re doing. Your content is amazing 😁
Put a drop of crappy eliquid on your tension fingers, and rip your drill at full speed, sounds like terrible advice, but it works great for me

I actually use a variation of this to space clapton ribbon stacks. It doesnt work flawless everytime unless I use 100% VG

I suppose a high VG liquid you ain't going to vape is better than doing it dry.
Yea vg works too if ur a diy. I just use shitty juice I'm not gonna vape ever. Works better than water because it doesn't evaporate as fast, and more surface tension one it

I have a big problem with the decore wire. He twisted extremely between the guiding hand and floor. It is really pain in the ass.
I'm talking about stretching method and decore wire 38 Gauge and less.(40, 42 Gauge ) Core Wire 3x 29-33 Gauge. Sometimes Fraliens .
Have you any Idea ? Please not the NO STRETCH METHOD.

fused claptons mit 42ga sind absolut kein thema aber bei diesen scheiss aliens wachsen mir bald noch weisse haare!

klaro, immer her damit. hab es ebe geschafft 4cm fehlerfrei hinzukriegen und dann hing der manteldraht an meiner jeans fest 😄
Nimm Deinen gestrechten Manteldraht und Wickel ihn locker auf eine Leerspule auf. Ich hatte noch eine von Zivipf , die schwarzen. Dann tust Du die Spule in einen Zipper Beutel ( z.B. von Toppits , Größe 150ml, hat genau die richtige Größe für die Zivipf Spule , die kann sich dann im Beutel noch frei mit drehen) . Den zipper Beutel machst Du dann soweit zu das die Rolle nicht raus kann. Der Draht muß natürlich raus und an Deine Seelen befestigen.Das ganze läßt Du dann zw.den Beinen auf dem Fußboden liegen. Das ganze , mit oben genannten Materialen ist schwer genug um den Draht nach unten hin gerade zu halten . Aber auch nicht zu schwer das es Dir Deinen Strech versaut, wenn der Beutel mal ein paar cm vom Boden abhebt bevor die Rolle wieder Draht nachgibt. Zumindest bei 0.1er . Habt gerade getestet und hat super geklappt. Nicht einmal verknotet.

tension will help, I normally run my wire from the drill to a swivel at the end of my desk clipped onto a c clamp even when using the daedalus coil jig, especially if I am going to clapton a 3 or 4 core clapton. Hope this helps
My biggest issue is the wire jumping when I Clapton but you wire is dead solid. What’s the trick?
tension. keep the drill pulled tight and make sure everything is centered
I honestly went through 90 feet of wire and 12 or so hours before building my first successful alien. Now I zip it with no issues.. happy building guys!!
Another little tip for everyone that watched this video that he didn’t mention. If your alien has the perfect S shape when your wrapping it, the alien wire will hold the cores together in a line making it so you don’t need a paperclip or anything else to keep your cores together.

Always keep my build at higher ohms because there is nothing I hate more than hot vapes. Hot vapes on a mech makes bad liquids worse, and since 2010 I've found maybe 5 liquids I like

thats going to make things harder. i definitely recommend a drill with clamps that close completely
What i meant was the drill i was using had the space in the middle cause it was an old ass drill. The new one i bought the day i commented on this had no space between the jawls

So those 3 cores are already claptoned that u made with the 26 n 36? How do u choose which ribbon alien size wire to use? Are most ribbon alien the same gauge?
Wish I had seen this video before I butchered some wire last night. Was my second time attempting alien wraps I would get a small section perfect then another as a mohawk. Gonna have to give this method a try next time. Keep up the great videos.

My problem when I first started was getting the angle right I was not far enough my biggest advice would be to with a big angle when your first starting so you at least get a coil then as you learn you can get better with the angle

Sherlock Hohms it took me three attempts before I got it good enough to get two coils out of 18 inches of wire I did get a coil out of my first 3 attempts maybe took me ten attempts to do a whole stick with no fuck ups now I can just go thru them, I do need better swivels I just build for me so I don't have to buy coils so I'm kinda cheap so the swivels I had were ok but need to invest in some better ones

hi I wanted to ask where should I buy the wires and what brands?
Ive built coils for a year now and this coil is one I still cannot get right, whether I stretch or not I always get the same bad results. I know ive wasted 2 spools of 38g just practicing and I can only get maybe an inch or less of alien then I get stacked/bunched wraps, loose wraps, or gapped. Never get enough even to make a single coil. (So frustrating) Even trying a dual core using 26g Ni-80, still get the same results. Haaalp!
Learn with 36. Its much more forgiving
I think the biggest revelation for most people watching this will be that the first clapton wrapped wire you make is the springy looking wire that eventually makes the alien wrap around the regular round wires.
Sois he vjust wrapping 36 ribbon around 26 core wires or is he making 3 Clapton's(26-36) then using ribbon around already claptoned wire? Thats where he lost me..Thank you so much 😊👌
@@michaelcard9382 he’s not using ribbon wire at all. It’s round wire wrapping in this build. If you use ribbon wire to wrap like an alien-style it’s called “tsuka”.

I was having the hardest time getting aliens down cause I had my swivels mounted to a flimsy make shift 2x4 post, once I mounted my swivels to a sturdy set up I got them down quickly

The thing that made it "click" for me was when I realized not only how import the angle is, but also the speed… somehow, at higher rpm, I get a way more consistent result, maybe because it stretches the decore more consistently… Only after speeding up did I manage to get larger stretches of perfect alien wraps

Isn't a 2 core easyer? Whatever I do, 2 cores is the limit when using the Drill. 3 cores ALWAYS form a Triangle.
clapton it up a 1/2-1 inch the use nylon tip plyers to flatten the cores out, usually keeps the rest of the build good for me

No sound so no way to describe your actions. I never really got the way to determine how to adjust the tension, in other words how fast and easy the wire spools out and how to make it have some resistance.

When you're wrapping your decore does it matter what end you start with? Meaning are you starting with the end you left the tail on in the drill? Hope this makes sense

You can't beat a 3core stainless alien. 24/26 x 36/38/40
if I'm into flavor & decent cloud, what system is right for me, RTA, RDA or RDTA?
If you can build go with rda or rta I'd stay away from the rdta. They can be pretty finicky

I build aliens more than anything , I've never got that high of a resistance .. I use ss 34 or 36 and n80 34 or 36 and they vary between .11 and .13 .. I've never got .2 out of a 6 wrap .. the only difference i can think of is your leg length ... nice video though .. I subscribed
in my own exp, when making coil, successed or failure depend mostly at preparation works (set up,straightening wires,pick the right drill,bit,set the right spd,right angle.....) ,i would say 80% how ur coil turn out , 20% left is everything else.

i do actually have a tip doe people if they struggle to clap the wire to the swivels, use hot glue. if you don't have a gun just gab a hot glue stick and a lighter and just a touch to stick your wire to itself around the swivel works wonders even on the drill side instead of bending lips for the chuck, put some glue on it and then clap it into the chuck when the glue is hard might work for you might not
What you do not show is attaching the alien wire to the core, your video starts back with an inch already wrapped... would be more beneficial to show attaching the alien wire to the drill or core

How do u put that lip or l bend in ur coils? ..i wrap my own from wire i buy and i have the engine 2 which leads need to be at same height so they need that perfect bend!

So for the no stretch you stretch a small section, wrap around the part sticking out of the chuck and the tension on the decore from your fingers will wrap itself? So keep applying tension until the wraps align?

What gets me about the no stretch, is where I pinch pressure on the de-core in my finger tips, creeps backwards as the drill spins it out my hand, then shortly after the de-core jolts and the wire bundles on the cores! 😡
I can do no stretch for dual core 24 aliens but for 3 x 26 cores i usually way understretch a bit so i can put less tension on the wire. I use lego for support. Ill need to try paperclips

Nichrome is so much easier to work with, I had a hell of a time learning with Kanthal but I got it down then i tried Nichrome and they come out flawless compared to Kanthal

I find claptoning an under stretch wire vertically(around 80 degrees from your body) instead of horizontally works better and easier

You guys should check out the dual tool from www.usaohmmeters.com it goes into your drill and holds the cores.
