What's the difference with a polysynth with portamento? I mean, just write 2 chords 'touching' each other with portamento and should be the same, am I wrong?
In real time mode, can you glide without using the pitch wheel? As in laying a chord, then pressing the sustain pedal, laying a new chord and then releasing and repressing the pedal. Will it transition then?
@@pisupport2151 You should definitely add this feature to the plugin in your next update or version. I would want to use that exact feature a lot instead of always relying on the pitch wheel for it. I was nearly going to buy this plugin on Plugin Boutique and then I came here and scoured the comments for criticisms like this one. Glad I did. Would definitely purchase if you made this upgrade!

Such a shame there's no Pro Tools version when you guys are actually making native pro tools midi plugins as per latest PT release! Surely you could make an AAX of this or even a native midi version?

In Fluid Chords, you can have any type of chord bend to any type of chord. In Fluid Pitch, you can play any type of chord and the destination chord it can bend to depends on the scale that is selected.
I bought this plugin before realising that I needed an MPE keyboard, which I don't have - but I *do* own the Ableton Push 1; does anybody know whether Fluid Chords can be controlled satisfactorily via the Ableton Push?
Generally an original effect. And it sounds very atmospheric and captivating with matching chords and arrangements. But it requires a harmonic connectivity/sequence of the chords and their structure. Otherwise the effect seems too inharmonic and distracting or even out of place. Especially if the transitions follow each other too quickly/closely. A sensible use is comparable to the visual effect morphing (e.g. from face to mask OK, but not from face to lawnmower).
Hi Peter, can you please make sure that the polarity of your sustain pedal is set accordingly so that, 1. pressing the sustain pedal should send a CC 64 message with a value less that 64 2. releasing the sustain pedal should send a CC 64 message with a value more than 64 ?
@@pisupport2151 I switched to another sustain pedal, and that seemed to do the trick. Strange, as I have not had any problems with it on any other plugin, but I guess that polarity thing had something to do with it...
Hi Jonny, no unfortunately. Shall I ask why would you want this feature for? You can actually save the chords as a chords preset file and recall them later
@@pisupport2151 it would be easier to have that feature as you can drag and drop into any DAW/VST, also you can change the midi information if need be, so you should implement that if you want more customers. just an fyi
I mean, if your controller has a pitch wheel, you can already achieve that. Is there no 'pitch wheel' within the plugin itself? Why not? This walkthrough seems flawed.
no friend, without this plugin u can bend your chord just equally by semitones, which can lead just to a chord with the same amount of notes, with Fluid chord u can bend (for ex) from a triade to a 5 notes chord or viceversa...Impossible with just the pitch bend...
Got it to work. Went to Ableton Options/Preferences/MIDI and set Fluid Chords Standalone to transmit MPE. It defaulted to off. Not sure how to do it with the VST but this works if I want all the MPE data.
It's all nice and stuff, but.. who's gonna core produce such a flow in real life? It can occur sometimes, but to buy a complete VST for it? Not for me, sorry. No offence tho... just IMHO :)

Hi Harzack, Which MPE synths do you have? We have factory sound presets for Vital, Surge XT, Pigments, etc. You can also design your own sounds and save them as user sound presets.
I can access any MPE sound on my synths by hitting the double square next to the chosen synth. I even downloaded Surge XT just to have some more. Looks like it might only have 9 but I have thousands from other synths.
@@Remelox Hi Remelox, you can insert Surge XT's "01. Start Here(MPE Init)" and choose any of the presets inside the "Surge XT". The inbuilt sounds that come it is huge.

Hi Peter, this sounds like a nice idea. But this is not how it works as of now, you do have to move the pitchwheel to glide to the new chord.

They're way over exaggerating it for the purpose of this demo. You can use it in a way more subtle musical way than what they're demonstrating.

Im having trouble recording the MPE data from fluid chords into Ableton. Any tips?
Same issue with me. Maybe I need to get a sustain pedal and try real time mode. I'd like to have more power over the result.

Ah, right, there are 9 listed under the MPE category in Surge XT. There may be more but that was what I was seeing.
