the fact that this was a split decision and that the scoring was so close shows how much Chavez had the judges in his pocket. We already knew that from the Whitaker fight.
i remember this fight. It was embarrassing they called it a split decision. we all knew what they were trying to do. calling the whitaker fight a draw with sulaiman telling the official "you see, this way, nobody loses." boxing is some shit.

This has to be one of the biggest upsets in boxing. Imagine been one of the biggest attractions in boxing and losing your long lasting unbeaten record to a journeyman…
Not really. Pernell Whitaker had already thoroughly whipped JCC's ass and won almost every round in an absolute robbery of a draw.
Textbook right hand wow. Floyd Mayweather mentioned Frankie Randall beating Chavez and how he used to hang out with Frankie Randall when he was a teenager Frankie Randall bought him his first Versace glasses used to let him drive his cars they were really tight, so I came to this fight so glad I did didn't see it when I was young cat Floyd keeps giving 👍🏻.
Chavez was never as great as people thought he was. Fought a bunch of nobodies to get that record. He had power and a chin. Salvador Sanchez and Canelo were much better as they both displayed skill and power, they actually boxed. Frankie Randall very much deserved win right here. Showed that skill actually plays a part in a fight.
The judges working with Chavez were so dirty, that was not a split decision victory, Randell clearly won that fight, but dirty judges don't care, they would give the fight to Chavez no matter what. Like, when they scored a draw with Pernell Whitaker. Now, they do it with Canelo.
Always liked Chavez but was so mad at how the judges robbed Sweet Pea Whitaker in their fight I rooted for Frankie the surgeon that night. I somehow felt vindicated watching this fight. RIP Sweet Pea.🙏🏾
Nobody robbed Whitaker, the entire world voted Chavez, from the UK, to the Analyst, Commentators to the Judges. You need to engage in punches to win and Sweat Pea spent too much time evading. The sad part is, he COULD have easily won, had he just engaged a little bit more.

The excesses were beginning to take their toll on Chavez. He was no longer so focused on his career, he thought he would continue without repercussions.
They almost stole this fight from Frankie. 🤦
Well deserved win for the Surgeon. Chavez is my all time favorite boxer and I felt that loss watching it live on PPV at only 11 years old with my dad who is Mexican.
Edad???? 😆😆😆😆😆
Pero Randall era mayor que Chávez xd
Estás si son peleas no costales d papás Arriba julio César Chaves ..
the fact that this was a split decision and that the scoring was so close shows how much Chavez had the judges in his pocket. We already knew that from the Whitaker fight.
he had the hispanic judges in his pocket. The fair judges got sick of him getting fake decisions.
What a shame Chavez also lost the 2nd fight against Randall too they gave it to Chavez to fight de la hoya
i remember this fight. It was embarrassing they called it a split decision. we all knew what they were trying to do. calling the whitaker fight a draw with sulaiman telling the official "you see, this way, nobody loses." boxing is some shit.
First official loss. Sweet pea whitaker exposed Chavez when they fought judges scored the fight for Chavez. Randell got the job done
Qué buena pelea, un saludo
Any way you can upload Chavez-Randall II ? There’s a bunch of videos on UA-cam on their first fight but really nothing on their rematch

This has to be one of the biggest upsets in boxing. Imagine been one of the biggest attractions in boxing and losing your long lasting unbeaten record to a journeyman…
Pernell was saying at that time Floyd Mayweather Jr was beating Franky in sparring.
That’s wild to think about that
Not really. Pernell Whitaker had already thoroughly whipped JCC's ass and won almost every round in an absolute robbery of a draw.
The judges in this bout were even gonna rob Frankie of his rightful win except that the knockdown and 2 pts taken away for low blows forced the one cheating judge to give Randall a 1 point win.

I'm a big fan of Chavez, I think he was the best of his time but if you look deep into his record he fought a lot of no name guys who had really bad records, it doesn't take away from how special he was but his record was inflated
Es correcto, lo mismo que el canelo
He did have an outstanding number of fights, but when he did fight someone with a significant career, Chavez still delivered a fight. It doesn’t matter that he fought 4 “Tijuana Cab Drivers”, when he fought Taylor, Randall, Mayweather, Camacho; Cesar showed us a good fight
Yes but go yourself fight 100+ fights going toe to toe never backing up from anyone

CHAVEZ SHOULD HAVE RETIRED A LONG TIME AGO ,HE BEEN BROKE MARCINO RECORD! Yet he stayed around and kept fighting . Heart of a LION 🦁 ! What I can't understand is how CHAVEZ wasn't RESPECTED when he been broke ROCK record and got no ACCOLADES like FLOYD! And he kept fighting not SCARED OF LOSING!
Simples. Chavez mexicano. O outro americano , de quem eles vão pagar pau.👍😎

@@michaelfoster5168 you summed up boxing in a whole. Great point.
The Surgeon came out of know where to win this fight. He was a great technician with good speed and power. Chavez lost a lot of energy chasing him, and as a result, Frankie outboxed him. Too, the point deductions were the tipping points for the loss as well. All around, a bad night for Chavez. 😬
Chasing him lol foh he was in his face most of the night foh!!
Superior Frankie Randall merecido Triunfo muera el rey viva el rey

Very entertaining
Ran into a tomato can that he couldn’t beat. Whoever that judge was that saw Chavez win must have been senile.

This is what happens when you don't take your opponent seriously.

Majority of those wins are in Mexico and against cab drivers. Like Haneys start of his career
Cesar Chave!
The judges working with Chavez were so dirty, that was not a split decision victory, Randell clearly won that fight, but dirty judges don't care, they would give the fight to Chavez no matter what. Like, when they scored a draw with Pernell Whitaker. Now, they do it with Canelo.
Chávez was pushing him back the whole fight

Always liked Chavez but was so mad at how the judges robbed Sweet Pea Whitaker in their fight I rooted for Frankie the surgeon that night. I somehow felt vindicated watching this fight. RIP Sweet Pea.🙏🏾
Nobody robbed Whitaker, the entire world voted Chavez, from the UK, to the Analyst, Commentators to the Judges. You need to engage in punches to win and Sweat Pea spent too much time evading. The sad part is, he COULD have easily won, had he just engaged a little bit more.
When you don’t fight a plumber
