So Future Liz watching this vlog in 2023 because I want to learn about DVC just out of interest. It’s not for us at this time of our lives but I like to be informed! You got a great deal for sure and I’m so happy you did. We might buy DVC points just for one vacation maybe because the one bed with a kitchenette look so fab. For me my favourite Hotel is Wilderness Lodge so I would probably go for Copper Creek if I was to do that. So far I only managed to stay there 2 nights but it’s made me want to go back for longer!
I also wanted to say as Future Liz in 2023 that RIP to the Magical Express Free transport from the Airport to any Disney Resort! Also it’s freaky that you made this Vlog at the start of 2020 before we knew anything about Covid. OMG it’s a good job we didn’t know what was coming!

Hi. Thanks for commenting. No, we didn't use a notary. If you buy through a resale agency (as we did) they do EVERYTHING for you. They tell you what to do and when. It was so much easier than we expected it to be.
Very informative video. How are you being affected by the 50% borrowing rule for next year? We are/have been and need to reassess where we are staying as it was a big family trip that needed about 550 points for a week!

We are hoping that the 50% borrowing rule will be reduced by the time we book (Nov 2020), but if not we'll try to book OKW 7 months out to try and get the most from our points :)
@@thefinlayadventure we are looking at a 3 bed grand villa at AKL but we are now looking at OKW 3 bed and it's less than 400 points. When you considered buying DVC did you take in to account the developer points that disney give you on a new resort? We did the sums and with these points and the year we got but weren't going to use and the extra yrs on the contract (we rented those out and paid it off the capital)it worked out a better deal for us. (30 yrs for an extra $5k plus all the dining and merchandise discounts it was a no brainer)
@@Disneydan864 we own at Akl and have stayed in value rooms plenty of times and are great but for our trip next years trip they dont do 3 bed values 😞 I have never seen 2 or 3 weeks available in AKL value studios at 7 months it's hard enough to get them at 11 months!

Welcome home, I currently own Direct with Copper Creek, looking to add some extra points on. my question is how hard was it to do all the paper work from the UK with resale??
Hi - and thanks for watching! We hope it was a useful video. Honestly, the company that we used (linked in the description) were amazing. As soon as we found a contract that suited us, they told us the process and WHAT needed to be completed and WHEN. They literally did all of the chasing/leg-work for us and sent through papers to sign/look over really quickly and all by email. Being in the UK didn't slow down the process at all :)
I'm still trying to decide whether to buy direct or resale - how long did it take you to finalise the whole thing via resale? Was it pretty straight forward - or did you run into any issues being from the UK? Lol, wish I had bought it back then - it's so much more money now, even via resale!!
Hi Nat. Thanks for the comment. Honestly, being from the UK we would ALWAYS recommend resale over direct purchase as the price difference is massive and the minimal perks you get from direct just aren't worth the extra cost. We fully expected the sale to be a difficult process but it was so easy. The company that we purchased through did everything for us - they told us what to sign, when and how to pay. We fully recommend them (their link is in the video description). Funnily enough, we were only saying today that we purchased at the right time as prices have gone up so much. We only joined DVC in March 2020 - we were staying at Caribbean Beach resort and signed up with DVC just before lockdown (we had to fly back early with Virgin as vacation cut short 😢)...Riviera Resort is our home resort and we have booked our first proper DVC vacation this Christmas (fingers crossed that flights to USA resume by December). Hope you have a great DVC trip there in 2021. Have subscribed to your channel - do check our channel out too. I read with resale you also don’t get the discount off of park tickets orthe 20% discount off at Disney restaurants and stores. Is that correct?
Hi - thanks for commenting. Yes, that is correct. Discount on merch and park tickets is only for people who buy direct through Disney
But from the UK we can get 14 days Park tickets for the pice of 7 which is actually a better discount than 20% off park tickets anyway!
