As a newbie myself, I say great job! I have one soaking in the paint remover now. It turned out great until I went to fast. 😮

Great video for us beginners. I made every mistake you said NOT to make. Bought the cordless rechargeable one and it was a mistake, as after a few weeks I had issues with it. Which ever airbrush with a compressor you buy, make sure you can buy replacement parts, needles, nozzles, o-rings, etc... You can not for most of the rechargeable ones. Ended up getting a kit on Amazon at a great price, after researching it and making sure they had replacements parts, etc... I really like it as I was not going to spent a ton, till I knew I would like it and enjoy learning, which I do now. Practice, practice, practice, I do this on White copy paper and even printed out some of the practice sheets. I learned the hard way, never paint the item first, try your airbrush and paint on paper, cardboard, whatever, you'll be glad you did :) This should be a great series for all us newbies. I'll be following along to learn more. I use Vallejo Model Air cause I mainly paint aircraft. I need to try thinning it once to see how I do? And clean, clean, clean that airbrush, you'll be glad you did. I also practice with water during cleaning and when clean, spray it against my other hand to see how the flow is. Good luck everyone in the newbie airbrush crowd. Even my worst airbrushed items are most of the time much better then my sloppy paint brushing I have done. Don't throw those brushes away, sometimes you need them for small parts, etc... Looking forward to our next lesson :)

Well-said, I'm about ready to airbrush my next build, and I've been taking Terry Adams' suggestions to heart, next build should be even better than the Willys. I do like the Vallejo paints, I did a 2:1 paint/thinner ratio, and I'll plan on using them for flat details. And definitely can't say it enough about cleaning. I've practiced the teardown and cleaning a few times and that way I know I won't miss anything. Take care and would like to see some of your aircraft builds!

@@ceezdaday Thanks for the reply, just click my YT name and it will take you to my channel where you can check out some of my newbie builds and airbrushing. I'm getting better at airbrushing each time I use it for a plastic model aircraft kit. Looking forward to your next airbrush build. Hope it is soon :)

Very nice for a first spray. I think the hardest thing for me is getting the mixture correct of paint and thinner. I've picked up some ScaleFinishes paints and look forward to spraying that soon.

I am going to be ordering some Scale Finishes as well this week, I already have some MCW paints but I need to thin them, where I believe the Scale Finishes are prethinned. I'll try both to see which ones work best for me. Take care!
