The way he did it is through preparation. Notice how he chose only odd numbers so it'd be impossible to land on specific cards, you'd get the gist of it if you watch it back one more time

(My guess) He only has one yellow card and tries to convince you that the entire deck is yellow by giving it a shuffle, but with a little sleight of hand, he keeps the yellow card on the top of the deck. After a selecting his four cards, he places them on the top of the yellow card and goes to work with the trick. The sleight of hand to keep the grip of the double card hidden is actually incredible and where the skill comes in.

15:17 this trick I saw the sleight of hand and saw you put it behind the 10 but what puzzled me is how you got it to the middle so quick and during the trick for a split second when you show off the cards the second time you can see the face down 9 of spades now the real question is how crazy is the sleight of hand to where you put it in the middle of the deck back to the bottom to do the swap
It’s actually funny because on the grid game part the first one he removed was kings and that is what I was on 😭
