Infinity blade 2 expands on the lore, adds a story, characters and dialogue and makes this clear as well. Only thing that annoyed me was they switched to english. I hoped they would keep that weird language they spoke in the first one for world building. Honestly extremely fun games for mobile. Back then this was AAA quality in mobile
In the first game its your actual bloodline each character is a new one that's why it says 22 years later then after the first game that leads into how you comeback in the second one
That’s awesome! It was such a great game to introduce a lot of us to fantasy and lore in larger games. It was perfect for mobile and excellent at the time!!
I played all three games back in the day, and what I distinctively remember to this day are three things. 1) The replayability: Infinity blade 1 was the shortstack on this, as there were few enemies, but as you got higher levels and replayed the bloodline enemies got faster, and up to a certain point it contributed raising the skill ceiling in such a way as to make the gameplay entertaining after the 10th or 11th run. And in the second and third games they managed to understand how to expand on the core structure with few but extremely well thought changes, that allowed for a very rejuvenating replayability when compared to the previous games. Basically a new game was an actually new game, despite the simple formula. 2) The art style: aesthetically everything in the game was perfect. The graphics weren't top tier, but used perfectly what they had both with colour and designs, with animations, visual effects, and most importantly MUSIC. To this day I listen to the whole Infinity Blade soundtrack as it was something extremely unique, also managing to keep up it's peculiarty through the second and third title. I strongly suggest everyone to go and listen to at least some of it, possibly also listening to the one in the second game 3) The story and lore. In the first game they made the whole experience look like a full fantasy setting. Only to shock you at the end of the game with a revelation that actually there was super advanced technology, that only the powerful deathless people had access to and knew of, and from then on the developers managed to expand on this sci-fi/fantasy type of lore that didn't collide at all with the gameplay being the exact same. Plus, as the games went on, new characters were introduced and expanded on, even though not as much as I would have wanted to. All in all, I really would have wanted to replay the game, too bad Epic Games removed it from the app store...
I owned all 3 games bought and paid for, then one day they disappeared. Looking back reminds me of how important physical copies are because when it’s digital you don’t own crap.
That’s a great note about mobile games and games in general! I have a few games from way back when that I can’t play anymore because you can’t get the game anywhere :(
I was happy to be a part of the original forums, so many great people and memories. We used to set challenges for each other, one was the God King challenge. You had to max all your equipment and get the GK to Level 1150.
Hi Gr00veh0lmes, now that’s a blast from the past lol. I am SolsticeLady, was also on the original forums. Yeah, those challenges were fun, still remember my 5:1 Raidriar qualification fight for the God King Club in IB2 😊 Those were the days…miss those games and the community
i always enjoyed the idea of being locked into a fight or forced to restart bloodline cuz u couldnt move past them yet. i remember in the sequel it was way less linear, ina way, and so many different pathnings that made it fun to restart a bloodline
It definitely wouldn't translate well to other platforms. IB was made with the core consideration that if the game would be fun to play with a controller or mock joystick controls, they were designing it wrong. That's not to say it couldn't be ported for that reason, I just don't see it happening in general. IB was delisted from the App Store due to those concerns about optimization, and I think they still stand. For the effort it would take Epic to remaster IB to their standards, they could put that into Fortnite and be more likely to make their money back. Most impactful of all, Donald Mustard, former CCO of Epic, was the creative director on IB. He's since retired and so I don't see them bringing back the series without him.
PC port actually plays pretty great on Steam Deck with the swipes mapped to the trackpads using a mouse region. With the increased popularity of the steam deck and other pc/console handhelds, I think these types of games with really specific control schemes could make a resurgence. I really wish they'd port Infinity Blade II as well
I’m praying that somehow an IB2 port happens, but I’ve read that it’s actually impossible because the porter can’t recover a critical system for the game 🙃
I used cydia jailbreak with Iap purchases to buy coins for free and i made my self overpowered from early game, such a nostalgia Ps: i remember when protagonist says : father i will get my revenge or something like that
Live near Epic... Want to go protest just seeing this video... Edit: think you should really ivestigate why the game isnt avalible any more. The entire game series was removed from my purchase history which doesnt happen simply becaise of firmware compatibility.
I played the two rounds or so and then I dropped it, but I'm just not a mobile gamer at all. The controls are far too simplistic to be enjoyable, and by extension I game on my PC where games are not simplified so much (dumbed down seems so derogatory and I don't want to talk down on people who enjoy this title). If you enjoy it then that's of course amazing. Don't let me, or anyone else, tell you what to enjoy.
I totally think the story could be great on pc, but the controls would have to totally change because they are so simple (great word). It worked great for the time, but I can see how it would be way more rewarding to play a more difficult combat system!
What do you think about the so said remade infinity blade 1 on pc, is it a virus or something? I want to play this series again so much and it is so stressful to not be able to T_T
Please tell me how you played this on PC, I only ever got to play the demo on my fathers really old iPad that unfortunately no longer works, I'd love to play this again, I loved it so much. Edit: I really hope I didn't sound rude at all or anything, I'm just very excited to see this game and know it's playable in modern times. Very detailed video though! You do a really good job of explaining everything!
You didn’t sound rude at all!! You just got to google “infinity blade port reddit” and it should be the first result to pop up :D Thanks for the compliment!
I think a bigger audience will be a good thing! Plus, if there’s no projection for making money, they won’t do it in the first place. Not sure how people being “woke” will affect that 🤔
@@itsajoll true candy crush has made it this far, it offers cheap prices that players choose to buy, it’s not pay to play, Infinite Blade has peaked my interest.
The character is actually a clone that keeps reviving in a chamber every time he is killed. I read a book way back
Sick! I’m pretty sure that gets explained in the end of the first game too but I was NOT paying attention 😅

You can unlock this “twist” at the end…
In the first game its your actual bloodline each character is a new one that's why it says 22 years later then after the first game that leads into how you comeback in the second one
I grew up beating all the infinity blades over and over and I attribute my love for fantasy and lore to it

Just a master class on making a game with insane longevity!! Thanks for the great insight :D
I want someone to remake the game in like UE or something, i legit know every single easter egg and location of the exo skeleton outfit.
that would be sick!
Core memory unlocked
When i figured out the port was available online, i had to take a second because it was like a huge wave of nostalgia 😭
What i wouldn't give to play that goat trilogy again
What im saying
shout out to the infinity blade community for infinity blading all over the place
bruh
Infinity Blade, back when mobile gaming was good
I owned all 3 games bought and paid for, then one day they disappeared. Looking back reminds me of how important physical copies are because when it’s digital you don’t own crap.

I still have the first one installed on my 2012 iPad. Great game. I also read the books.
Idk how or why this is on my recommended, but great vid!
Thanks for checking it out!! Maybe you’ll see me in your recommended again some day….🤔
Bro my childhood 😭😩
I know right! I was so happy to play through it again!!
HOLY!!! I've finally found the game from my childhood😭, thank you so much😭😭
hope you get to play it🫡🫡
The only mobile game I ever spent a lot of money on for upgrades, etc. Those were awesome and I really miss playing them

i remember seeing a preview and thinking it looked like a neat remake of crossed swords
I can totally see that they pulled inspo from that game! Kinda uncanny lmao

Makes sense that it’s best as mobile game!! Love your channel, btw!!
I played this game for ages as a teen too, honestly its stealing to take it away from paying customers

The PC port lets you map swipes to keys. Makes it playable. Also gotta take advantage of negative bloodlines and new game+. endless fun.
I remember how heartbroken I was when I realized I couldn’t download any of the games anymore.
I used cydia jailbreak with Iap purchases to buy coins for free and i made my self overpowered from early game, such a nostalgia
Ps: i remember when protagonist says : father i will get my revenge or something like that
W long form video. I remember this game! I liked it a lot when it first came out.
It was sooo sick, hate that you can’t really play it in it’s true form any more
WHY DID EPIC GAMES DELETE IT-
This was the ONLY mobile game besides True Skate and Vector that I actually enjoyed playing.
As the IB 1 was recently ported on PC, I hope IB 2 and 3 get there as well
I remember seeing this on my cousin Iphone.
@ajoll love the video, my favorite game on my dads phone when I was a young guy, used to be obsessed with this game 😂
Is there anyway we could get epic games to bring this back 🥺😢
Part of the reason it will never be remastered is likely the epic vs apple lawsuit.
Yeah, that's definitely an extenuating circumstance that'll probably forever bar it from being remade besides anything else :(
there are a lot of IB clones have you tried them out?
I haven’t yet! I’ll be looking into that 🫡

thats sad..
Phenomenal game. Ton of wasted potential.
You had me until you said "mobile game"
😭😭😭
I never heard of it but if it comes back the woke weirdos will come especially if it’s made by the same people who made Fortnite a popular game.

@caselleknowiv589 I agree! If it comes back it can't be super micro-transactiony like fortnite. Has to be the same as it once was. Good point!
yeah, we're finally at a point where zoomers are feeling nostalgia over generic mobile trash
