@@gameshows5973 that makes ZERO sense. Blackberry had 32 points and Strawberry was the #1 answer. It could have easily been 38 or higher and that would have been 200 points and the win.
@@batsonelectronics They intentionally make it so that it is impossible for the first person to get to 200. There are several episodes where Steve said the first person got all the number one answers after the second person won for them
@@krfan5459 if you logically think thru the problem, there are questions where there could be 2 or 3 good answers and a few not as good that would divide up the 100 as 35 or less for each answer. If the question ( like which food ending in "berry" ) has only 2 or 3 total answers, the likelihood of the 1st answer being ~50 is much more likely. In this episode I would be surprised if the #1 answer was not 6+ points ahead of her answer as I would have said blueberry myself and not in a million years thought blackberry, yet blackberry was almost enough to reach 200. It may be that the questions asked have too many possible answers and that brings the highest 2 answers down to
@@batsonelectronics I'm not saying that you are wrong. Your logic makes total sense. In fact, back in the day, the first person could win all by themselves. All I'm saying is that they intentionally choose questions based on the #1 answer's point values so that, in today's Family Feud, the first person cannot win on their own. They pick a variety of questions where the number of points the #1 gets vary greatly. Some #1 answers may get low 20's, where others will get 50 or more. I might also add that there has been a time where the second person got 0 points.
This family is calm, cool, and collected.

The amazing thing is the second person on the first answer covered the difference. Usually when the first person does so well the second person struggles to get points because the first answer is the obvious one. She just nailed it.
These girls killed it. Would have probably got 250+ of they played it out. Top notch answers.

I don’t think so, Ayesha curry once had 4 number 1 answers and she was at 194 points. Steph curry had answered the correct last #1 answer she was missing and it was just a one point different, therefore I think the max is 195 for the first round
@@BruhThereYouGo not all max points are the same in the first round. Some first rounds are more difficult than others. 200 is possible sometimes and not possible others

I have no idea why "blackberry" was also the first answer that popped into my head, even though strawberry is far more common.

Even before I saw the video, I knew the answer was "no." Since Steve started hosting, it's questions are categorized so that even five number ones won't total 200 or more. However, I do remember one instance of it happening in the Ray Combs era.
May be with strawberry as number 1 insted of black berry could have maken the 200

@@johnanderson9765 no, im saying not every number one answer has many points... so you may have seen a few examples when it just doesnt add up... but this time she got 194 points with 4 number one answers... so chances are vey high that she could have maken 200 with 5...
It can still be done but 2 things have to be in play for it to happen:
1. The first player gets all #1 answers (which has been done)
2. At least 1, maybe 2 of those answers are absolute slam dunk #1 answers (45 points or more)
You've had situations where 1 or 2 have been in play, but the stars haven't aligned for both to happen in 1 run on Fast Money

Many times, when the first person gives all really good answers, the second person bombs/runs out of time because they duplicate.

The first was in 2014 when Tim scored 182 points. Anna Sass, then, scored all zeroes after repeating three of Tim's answers and one of the answers she gave should've received points.
There was a similar situation in 2020, except the second player scored 5 points rather than all zeroes.
Before it was possible to score 200 on the first go. Now it’s meant to go 199 or lower :/ such a shame
I know it’s meant for the other player to give it a shot him/herself but still. Give them their 20k now instead of waiting lol

Nope, it will never happen in the current FF run even though it happened multiple times in Richard Dawson and Ray combs era. The first known instance of solo win happen was on 3/2/78.

There is an episode on UA-cam from when Ray Combs was the host. The first person got the 200 points, so Ray pranked the second person by asking stupid, nonsensical questions. It was hilarious.

Sometimes 200 points are available on the left hand side, sometimes not. If you watch Fast Money and keep track of the points and whether or not the answers on the left or right side are number one answers, sometimes you can tell if 200 points could have been had on the left side but if the number one answers for one or more questions nevertheless only score in the 20s or 30s, it's going to be hard to get to 200. I don't think the producers would put up a question set where 200 points can't be had no matter what and it wouldn't surprise me if they don't have some algorithm to get the maximum number of available points within a certain range over 200.
The cotton candy getting points was the surprising thing.

It's hard to go second when you know you have to deal with the buzzer and have two answers for most everything. Not saying six points is hard but it can hard to get 40-50 in that scenario. Good for both of them.

200 has definitely happened before. I think twice. The host improvised different questions for the 2nd player. There are (or used to be) clips of it somewhere on YT.

I always try to play along... the only answer I got the same as Tracy was the first one (well, apparently my automatic answer for the last one - "nose hairs" - would have counted the same.)

I don't think that Tracy could possibly have gotten 200 points because I frankly believe that the Family Fued coordinators use a combination of surveys that never equal more than 199 points.
There was one episode... don't remember the host...where the first contestant got over 200 points all by herself. When the second contestant came out, the host gave the second contestant BS questions for all five questions. In other words, YES, the answers could easily add up to 200 for just one contestant. Because it's happened before.

The question n the title is, "Can Tracy score 200 points on her own??" and I believe the answer is "NO!". Not anymore. It used to be possible but I'm pretty sure currently the producers purposely make it impossible by making sure the total points of the number one answers to the five questions add up to just under 200. Therefore it CANNOT be done anymore. And personally I think it's good policy. It's more interesting to me if both players have to contribute on some level. I also like that the time allowed used to be 15 & 20 seconds, now it's 20/25. I think that's a good way to compensate for requiring both players to contribute.
there should be an extra bonus price, if they reach over 300!

As I said in another comment, it takes not only getting all #1 answers, but at least 2 of them have to be slam dunks (45 points or more) I'd have to go back and watch, but the 198 score I think only had 1 of those 2 scenarios in play

Wow we can only wonder had she said Strawberry. What woulda, coulda, or shoulda happened. It all depends on how many people said Strawberry. Blackberry had 32 people, which adding her other answers gave her 194, had Strawberry been worth 36 points she still would not have gotten to 200. She would have been shy 2 points. Now of course they don’t ever tell us what the remaining answers are worth or what the #1 answer that was not given is worth. Strawberry could’ve been worth anywhere from 33-68 points. Remember 100 people were surveyed we already know 32 people gave BlackBerry as an answer that leaves 68 people. But considering they had so many other choices who knows what the remaining 68 people gave as an answer.
