These jokes were actually cheesy but all of their acting and reactions combined make it funny. The actors around her reacted more realistically to someone being that ditsy all the time lol so it made it funnier
Nowadays comedy show has bad acting... Most of them always have same reaction and when other character talk, other characters doesn't know what to do. They stand and wait for their line

@@waikeonglim7703 she didn’t. She was ridiculously dumb in seasons 3 and 4 and very far-removed from the quirky voice of reason/occasional ditz she was in the first season-and-a-half.

I haven't watched _That's So Raven_ as a kid, but from the few episodes I've seen I think Chels was smarter than London, she even had moments of being smarter than _Raven._
@@rogue7723 Chelsea wasn’t even dumb in the first season. She had her quirks and her fair share of ditz moments but she was actually fairly intelligent (more than Raven and Eddie). Don’t forget she probably kept up a higher GPA than Raven and Eddie.
@@Anonymous_Anon882 An excellent point. I gotta admit though I never watched _That's So Raven_ when it was airing. I caught maybe a few minutes of certain episodes but that's the extent of it.

I noticed it too! Same thing with London Tipton , she was normal and stuck up at first and they made her grow dumber
@@jaykay5086 I think everyone noticed how dumbed-down she got compared to how she was in the beginning. Even season 2 Chelsea wasn’t that bad but from the first episode of season 3 to the end she was written as a near-complete moron with no common sense. She went from being a (relatively) normal character with ditzy quirks to a dunce in the space of one episode. I noticed it more when I rewatched the seasons.
Agreed. This was always a common thing with earlier sitcom characters. Like Eric from Boy Meets World. Theyre not necessarily dumb, but they were funny at first then as the series got popular they made them the gag of each joke and never had any story for them.

Writers never know how to write these characters over a long period of time. They always dumb them down to the point of ridiculousness.

To be fair she was always book-smart, even in seasons 3 and 4. She was never a complete idiot. She ‘just’ became incredibly ditzy.

Atleast in the earlier seasons she was ditsy but very smart in her own way and witty and they just made her dumb as a post from season 3. So annoying when rewatching the older ones the change is really jarring and obvious

Chelsea was actually a great character. But it is a shame, her character actually gotten dumbed down, and made her increasingly dumber and ditzy as the show went on. Because in early episodes, she was fairly smart.
