@@timefficient I wouldn't say Jones is an amateur, that was a poor choice of words. He's clearly the greatest fighter of all time. But just because you're great overall doesn't mean skills aren't missing. For example Khabib... One of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, his striking is very limited and amateurish. But he doesn't need it to be amazing, his grappling patches a lot of those holes in his game.

I strongly believe that unless your own accomplishments outshine the individual you are talking about then you should shut your mouth. Individuals that have put years of hardwork and dedication into their career and have become very successful should be given their due respect. Lots of people who have long reaches and/or taller than Jones who haven’t accomplished half as much. Jones is just a perfect storm, born physically gifted and talented fighter.

@@Battosuie if this was boxing I would count that against him but MMA in my opinion is the dirtiest sport in the world. I would say over 80% of the fighters are using something illegal. St Pierre had HGH gut in one of his training videos and midway through his career his body frame grew twice in size. Khabib & many Russian fighters fight like they use EPO. Can cut tons of weight without hurting their stamina and endurance. Khabib was hospitalized multiple times for bad weight cuts but when he actually fights, you wouldn’t be able to tell he struggles cutting weight.

Bobby's right. Jones toughest fights were with larger strikers that could rush past his one-trick defense. Jones is very defensively responsible, but he lacks head movement, often retreats in a straight line, and was most exposed when he was forced to exchange strikes rather than snipe from a distance or brutalize them in a clinch. The difference between Jones and Green is that Jones has so many weapons that he doesn't need the best striking to win. Also even though Jones has holes in his defense, when he's in danger that guard is ALWAYS up. Green drops his guards constantly and it shows in his record.
