The band was led by lead vocalist and guitarist Shakin' Stevens, who went on to become a successful solo artist in the 1980s. The other members of the band included Rockin' Louie, Mickey Gee, and John "Drum Machine" Watson.
    The band's sound was heavily influenced by 1950s rock and roll and rockabilly, and they quickly gained a following in the UK. They had a string of hits in the 1970s, including "Rockin' and Shakin'", "Sweet Little Rock and Roller", and "Hot Dog".
