Yes and no. Yes he can 100% do what Mark said and have a easy and good life, but if he wants to make the huge $ he would need to mass produce and sell a lot. The easy safe way is what Mark said
@@douglastaylor43 idk i thought he meant make the product more valuable thats more risky than making it affordable. If he goes the expensive route he will get less sells from ordinary people but might get celebrity / wealthy peoples attention because its value will be higher. If it doesnt get noticed by a celebrity his business will go down fast but thats the only way i can see him becoming rich from this product.
His onesie suit is currently $75, and the thong is $35. Personally, I'm glad he didn't overprice his stuff. I agree that the best way for him to make money is mass production. Unless he's regularly selling each item for at least $1,000 like Mark said, he's not going to make a reasonable income, and I personally don't think any of his items are going to rake in that kind of dough.
Well, if that's true, he lowered them again. His onesie suit is currently $75, and the thong is $35. Must not have worked out in his favor. I didn't think $1,000 for a onesie would work. It would be great if a famous person bought his stuff and helped him break into making custom clothes for Hollywood celebrities, but I'd wager that's a business you only break into if you know someone. I think the rest of the sharks had the right idea about mass production at a cheaper cost and lower time investment
Mark was on point! People see a big price and they know it's exclusive, hand made, unique and so on. So they buy it. People don't really care how much it costs when they get to a certain point, that's why people buy skins in games that are worth thousands. It's exclusivity, you can have the best looking skin in a game, if everyone else has it you won't use it because it's not exclusive.
That's not how things work. If I put a "hand made" loaf of bread on Etsy and price it at $5,000, I'm almost certainly not going to have someone buy it just to be exclusive. If I put hand carved pencils out there priced at $10,000 per pencil, with custom messages engraved into each, they aren't going to sell. Brand, reputation, and image are necessary. And don't get me wrong, between Shark Tank + extra support given to members of LGBTQ right now just for the sake of being LGBTQ, he's got a shot at that. But I doubt it. I always love being proved wrong, and I love seeing artists become successful while they're still alive, but I just don't see his crocheted onesie selling for $1,000 just because it's $1,000. For that to work out, he'd be best served making fashion items for celebrities walking the red carpet, and for _that_ to work out he'd have to know someone
That guy radiates positivity. He didn't got disappointed but took the advice. Mark gave great advice and Kevin pointed out major missing areas. Nice pitch this was.
I would never wear this but I actually love the product, concept, and overall look of it and mark is absolutely right and this guy is going places he just needs to get the proper business mentality to sell this stuff.
Watching Robert's reactions and comments just makes me bust out laughing everytime. He's like the sweet soccermom that is so encouraging and goofy. So cute.
Exactly what Mark had said, putting the valuation at a higher credibility. I also would call the brand “Von Schmitt” with losing the “Lord” in the title, but using that as a form of social advertising on your personal platform. Presenting the clothing with more seriousness will also add more structure for the price tag. The synergistic attributes of a carefree look but with a serious price tag and presentation will bring a strong wow factor to a new eye. This just my two cents on how I would personably market to be, but I believe there is strong potential with marketability this product brings to the clothing industry ✌️
This is premium niche market, it will never be mass produced when the interest does not exist. Mark was completely right, he should hand make them and sell them for over a thousand each or more
I agree. If he ever wants to mass produce he should hit up a chain like H&M and do some kind of collab where he can do all of the artwork and designing and let them figure out the logistics.
I can definitely seeing him making it. Investment ain't only in money. Word of encouragement and great advice can be worth way more to the point money becomes just want and not need.
Love the parasols. So... I get out my sewing machine, an old afghan from when my kids were little, and an umbrella for $8. Ta da! Done. Could probably sell it on Etsy too.
@@MetubeUA-cam The point I was trying to make is that his designs can be made by someone with crocheting/sewing/crafting skills at substantial savings. Etsy has several listings of patterns to crochet parasols. He has had an Etsy shop since at least 2010. This is a good platform for his work. Broader application through a Shark's investment though? 🤔 Anyone who crochets can make shorts, pants, etc. out of brightly colored yarns.
Slow fashion because it’s small carbon footprint + made by recycled crochet blanket. BUT it’s outsourced in another country’s factory where the clothes have to be SHIPPED meaning there is a large carbon footprint. I’m out. Lol
Mark Cuban knows how to make millionaires. I mean, I'm just seconds away from believing that he is the one who advised all those painters to sell their art for millions of dollars, those artists, you know, who just make like a red paint line on a white canvas.
So, he buys used crochet afghans from thrift shops and cuts them up, and creates clothing. A wonderful idea but when he cuts them up how does he keep them from raveling? (I've done a lot of crocheting in my life since I was a teenager and I am really impressed by this guy's ingenuity.)
