I had a wedding video business in San Diego in the 90s. I was lucky enough to get into the Samoan community and do many weddings for the Samoans. JR actually approached me at a reception after one of the weddings I was doing. We briefly spoke about football. He then turned to leave where I was standing and said that he wanted a picture with me. I had my big camera and the photographer took our picture together. I asked JR if it was ok for me to put the picture in my office? He said yes but he wanted me to take a video of him doing a traditional Samoan dance. I agreed and one afternoon we were both free and met in a park in Carlsbad and him and 3 others did a traditional dance for his grandmother’s birthday. Down to earth guy and was definitely loved by San Diego.

Dang, taking photos or film can show the way a person is in real life. A lot of suicides or passed away people seem to appear partially obscured, in the back, or just not the main focus. Thanks for sharing your story that he was in your footage, and may you feel better, there is nothing wrong with you, or your ability to put the weaknesses of other in center stage. You are a professional, and so was he.

As a native Californian than loves and adores our samoa 🇼🇸 community, I felt this lost so deep as he was my family. I started watching the NFL as a minor just to see him play. This one stung. Due to his transition, the NFL started to go into head injuries and made better helmets since then. You'll forever be missed Junior 🙏🏾❤❤❤❤❤.

I remember that day , it was all over the news, such a sad day. They actually did an autopsy and analyzed his brain and discovered that his brain was so damaged from those hard blows to the head .He probably didn't know that his depression and mood swings was the result of those concussions. Imagine how bad your depression was to decide suicide was the answer to stop hurting.

Having a 20 year nfl career as a defensive player is amazing. Mainly because as you get older, you're more likely to get injured , especially as a defender. Kickers and qbs can last long because they're usually not getting clobbered every play. When Jr passed away, we all felt like we lost a brother. Even though we didn't know him, he always had that smile on his face that made us feel like we did know him personally. Rip to the legend Jr Seau

I've known the Seau ohana for years. When Junior was little, he was such a rascal. Mrs. Seau goes to see him every Sunday. I can remember one Sunday that she was putting beautiful white roses there, we started talking and she was telling me how people were taking things that herself and her family would put on his grave. It just broke my heart seeing how sad it made here. So I told her to report it to security and she did. Nothings been taken since.

He was a top college prospect when I was a senior in HS. I can still picture his smiling face on the cover of a magazine in my coach’s office.
    Such a sad ending

I met Junior Seau in 1996 on Mission Beach in San Diego when I was 12. As soon as I saw him I knew it was him, I dropped my boogie board and ran up to him and said "Hey man are you Junior Seau??!!!", his reply was "Yea Man". He gave me dap and we went about our way. I couldn't get an autograph because it was at the beach. Him and Ron Simmons are the only two famous people I've met.

ESPN did really good on covering Seau on there 30 for 30 doc series that I would highly recommend watching just really going over his life and his career as well as certain events that lead up to his death... Rest In Paradise Seau

I love watching the ocean waves. Sounds corny to some but in Illinois there are mostly corn and soybean fields. I don't know anything about football, but I am so sorry that this man felt the need to leave this world. May he and his family RIP.

junior seau was a force, a tackling machine who was very intense. the steelers had a player just like him, troy polamalu, who i would call junior seau jr. junior played 20 seasons and troy, 12. for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction; give a big hit and receive one in the doing. junior had 8 years more of those big hits than troy. troy wisely retired after 12. troy is doing very well. rip junior seau

That's why he did it in the chest so his head could be examined. I remember them talking about it when I was in school

I'm guessing as a linebacker, he was actually probably more like 240, 250lbs. He was too quick to be 270 plus. Gettin your head smacked in every week for 20 years takes a toll. He even shot himself in the chest so they could study his brain. Junior, you're a legend and will always be missed. 🙏

Maybe you could come to Florida again in the near future. My town I live in has a Trial going on about a Babysitter leaving a little 10 month old in her car in the summer of 2023. It's on UA-cam now. 133 Degree in the car.
