After spending hundreds of hours watching Tim's videos, I swear his voice is as recognizable to me as my own mother's.
Word!
Probably the most recognized voice in fly fishing!
Tim is the bell, and we are Pavlov's dog.
Hey Brian, thanks for having Tim on, he is always a wealth of insightful information. Not only that but what a real down to earth guy. Wish more were like him and yourself, thanks again love the content ☕️☕️
Thanks so much for being here!
Great video guys - thanks for sharing this! As a kid and through my 20's, I fished super ultralight spinning gear, size 16 dry fly hooks embedded into a salmon egg and typically one "B" shot. Incredibly sensitive rig and seems to be what I see today called "high sticking" and "tight-lining". We did what worked! I'm giving this setup Tim shared a "go" and see how it works for me. Appreciate y'all!
Thanks for watching. Tight lining has been done for years and years…..the kids just call it “Euro Nymphing” now!
@@Madriveroutfitters Yes - and this might be a muscle memory thing for me so I'm excited to try it! Appreciate ya and your content! Thanks again!
By the way we(Europeans) found out that this type of fishing is called euro nymphing by watching US colleagues on the UA-cam 😅
That is really, really hilarious.....and true!
Excellent video. The SA markers you're showing are phenomenal for adjusting sighters quickly and they wipe off easily with an alcohol pad. As an avid euro angler (non competition), I've been using 40 feet of 6lb Maxima Chameleon-> 2-3 feet of sighter -> tippet ring -> tippet. No knots through my guides and very sensitive with 6x-7x tippet. It's an awesome way to fish trout.
Thanks for being here.
Tim is always such a wealth of knowledge and does an excellent job of explaining the subject matter in an easy to follow manner. Great job.
Thanks for watching.
Nice to hear the comforting words that it’s not so difficult and the barriers to entry are not high. I have stayed in the same hotel as the French national team and observed some of them fishing yet I’m a dry fly guy and soldier on looking for fish that’ll rise.. Maybe I’ll give it a bash. My last trip was to South Tirol and the volume of water made it really tough to fish the dry fly but I soldiered on there too I’m sure some Czech\French\Euro nymphing would have brought more success but I like to see them take the fly…. Great video, great advice thanks for the continued creation of the content.
Thanks for being here!
I Love Tim’s 10 + 10 leader design. Brilliant.
Thanks for watching!
Great video!! I could listen to Tim talk for hours.
We agree!
Been using Sakura Pens for many years .10ft of tippet is way excessive to me.But he adds his Sakura paint marks at different depths.Work's for Tim.
Thanks for watching.
Thank you. Nerding like this is awesome, keep it going i would watch for another 9 hours if u keep deep diving into it all.
Thanks for watching. As long as folks keep supporting the shop, we'll keep diving into it all.
I'm loving the Irony that 3 days ago Brian posted a video with Kelly G talking about streamers, and now a video with Tim F on the Euro game. Certainly its not a secret that Kelly is not a fan of the Euro deal, and will probably not be a named sponsor of the US National team as it heads overseas for the next round of International competition.
Brian, does Kelly know you are being courted by the Dark Side? As Master Yoda said "Once you start down the Dark Path, forever it will dominate your destiny."
No knock on Kelly or Tim for Brian. Certainly 3 of the most knowledgeable guys and informative channels on The Tube. I, for one, have learned a ton from all 3 of you. Just loving the timing and the juxtaposition of the back to back videos, made me chuckle a little bit.
Kelly was discussing actually using nymphs not long ago hahahaha
Variety is the spice of life. Thanks for being here and watching!
thanks, Tand B great info as always
Thanks for being here.
I grew up in southern OH, I’m a fly fishing guide in western NC. I tell people Nymphing is like Walleye fishing with jigs, just lighter equipment& smaller jigs. 🎣
Thanks for being here.
great tutorial
Thanks for watching.
Small creek nymphing is very 'Euro.' But, I'm vintage, pretty much everything before Jack Dennis, Western Trout Fly Tying Manual II.
I appreciate your leader design. Is Maxima the easiest to mono to straighten off of a reel on a cold windy day?
Thanks for watching. Please send any and all questions directly to Brian or the folks at the shop and they will be happy to help. That's what they do! You can e-mail or call.
Cool video but I'm pretty sure that the fly only sections here in PA require that the fly be cast by the weight of the line. Is an .020" fly line and a heavily weighted fly really going to do that? I'll have to re-read the regulations posted next time I think of it.
Haven't heard of that but may well be?
Tom Rosenbauer is also extremely identifiable….lol
Thanks for watching.
Where does Tim live?
New Jersey?
Tim's a great guy! Love to see him on here!!! But just know, if you hire him as a guide, he really ties sh!ty knots!!! 😂😂😂 Sorry, inside joke!
Thanks for watching......will pass along to Tim.
@@Madriveroutfitters - Oh, he knows! 🤣👍
Tim's formula is a micro leader, very hard to cast, especially in the wind. If you are just trying euro nymping don't try his formula. Like he said buy a shorty line and leader.
Thanks for watching.
That link you have...from (at)Tightline doesn't take you to Tim's vids...
Thanks for the heads up! Fixed.
