I love the part about assuming good intentions....to help the conversation along. Tools for my toolbox. Also, "You'd better be as aesthetically and aromatically sensually romantic as possible.....the chickens out on pasture are so attractively magnetic that people resonate with it.....good farming should smell and look good."
Sounds like you need some rv/camp grounds in the area to provide accomodations. Then build a complete local co-op food production system. Become a self sufficient community. Be the blueprint.
Lol. Ive been circumventing giving consent to the beast or participating with it my whole life. Im really enjoying this convo, its the way Ive always thought. I was 10 when I decided I would not conform, but would live self sufficiently.
Increasing agricultural productivity without undermining the integrity of the Earth’s environmental systems, such as soil water balance, is important to ensure food security for an increasing global population in rainfed agriculture. Therefore, understanding the drivers promoting ecosystem stability is crucial for mitigating adverse climate change effects. The identified mechanisms by which tree species richness stabilizes agroforest productivity emphasize the importance of diverse, mixed species to adapt to climate change.
I totally agree, and have been saying forever, the forests, which are mostly PUBLIC LANDS, should be cleaned up and maintained, and all the refuse used to compost for local farms. I lived in the forests full time camping for the last several years. The us forest service is a fraud against the public..
I want to get into ranching. I am 39 years old with a wife and 4 boys. The problem I am having is that I don't have 3 to 4 millions dollars to buy a small ranch to get started and no one is willing to pay enough for me to feed and house family.
Ranching seems like a great first step but it can be costly. Might be best to start small, find a small bit of land and build from one cow, or work for someone for a while to learn the trade. Best of luck!
joel salatin bears a light in the dark and evil world of greedy and inhumane farming. really makes one wonder just what we are missing out on, nutrients wise. Just how deep does the rabbit hole go, has the way we raise food made us sedentary, dumber, angrier, sicker, and fuller of hormones like the animals we eat?
Joel I agree with everything you said except forest care. Please remember these are forests not gardens they need to stay forest. They do need care but a forest can take care of itself for the most part in its own system. Have you ever seen seen a tree grow or several trees growing up out of a fallen mature tree. These fallen trees are the woum of the forest. They create the compost of the forest. Please learn the symbiotic relationship of all the species that grow in the forest. We need forest. Dont change them into farms.
I dont buy any gmo, non organic, manufactured products. It's taken years to refine my diet. The grocery store is the scariest place. Ive spent my life looking for a farming community that has created a local retail industry too
People don't "want" cheap food. We need to understand this. But cheap is all they can afford. Look at the economic rules - it always favors the bad thing. I love Joel's ideas but they have to be converted to small scale so that farms are distributed all over the place not just one big huge farm. I mean that can be present too but we need to decentralize, it's actually of crucial importance to decentralize everything.
Let's return that cropland to native pasture and plant perennial crops like nut and fruit trees instead. Hemp is no more sustainable as a monoculture than corn or soy.

I've followed Joel for years. It is great to hear all his greatest hits coming back around!
For real! I was trying not to geek out over the fact that I was actually talking to him!
Thank you both for pushing this content. We need to continue to spread the word
Thank you so much for watching! Joel is the man!
❤ Joel Salatin
Exactly, build a parallel system, let the consumer choose.
I just learned of Joel Salatin from Patara at Appalachia's Homestead and I'm hooked!

I hear you Guys... I don’t want government nor regulatory anything anywhere near my horizontal nor vertical smiles!
Watching from Philippines, I love your concept of farming. I wish I could build my farm too
HI! Thank you so much for watching the video! Maybe one day you'll be able to. It's never to late to start planning!
We the People should have control of our basic survival.

Getting government OUT of every aspect of your life is the first order of business. They do not serve the people, they serve themselves. 🇺🇸

@FarmTraveler Thank you. The small properties I have been finding are developments land for houses. Hope you find land very soon to start.
To expand on getting into some land. Start small with a fixer upper and trade up. AS YOU go learn as much as you can!

Freedom to voluntarily interact as adults: entirely foreign concept in America 2023

What part of the Florida panhandle? We’re in Pensacola
Panama City! Love Pensacola!

The first thing to be secure from societal collapse is not being dependent on the beast system.

1000% agree! The less centralized farms are, the cheaper, and more accessible food will be!
@@FarmTraveler Glad you think so. Do you know how we go about it? I do if you're interested.
Wouldn't that create jobs to clean the forest?
Bad Assumption: Government regulations protect our health
Lets return to hemp fields replacing chemical fertilized corn and soy gmo crops.

I like your pronouns, lol!
We need our original constitution back under the Republic, and unincorporate our country.
