Hey thank you for a great detailed tutorial. I can especially appreciate the patience that you displayed when finding out the camera was upside down. You laughed it off like it was no big deal. I can picture myself editing out all the cuss words and yelling, as well as throwing my phone onto the ground and crying like a two year-old lol. Thanks again my man!
You’re welcome, Jeffrey. I was shocked to see my camera was upside down. I was so detailed on how to insert the camera to the unit. I give myself plenty of time when I do install projects. When things go wrong I can only laugh. I knew it was an easy fix. Thanks for watching and your comment. Cheers, JC.
Hi Dashiki, it's a solid unit. No fading or chipping of any kind. The only issue I've had with it. When it rains a lot, water fogs the camera. (By the next day, the camera is cleared) For this reason, I would suggest getting a tire delete with a hood over the camera. There was nothing in the market with a hood over the camera when I purchased this unit.
Hi Doug, thank you. Sorry for replying so late. This tire delete holds up to the elements. How ever when it rains the camera gets wet. Under heavy rain the comers gets foggy. That is a flaw with this unit. I suggest getting a tire delete with a hood over the camera. I saw this one at Jeep Beach 2023. TeraFlex Alpha HD. I’ll leave a link below. The Artec video instructions on You-Tube are WRONG on camera orientation. The single tab on the camera must be pointed DOWN not UP as the manufacturers video instructs. I've been telling them to fix it for four years.
Great video man! So hey I got a question and this is actually going to help you as well. On your plate, there are two additional holes on it. They are on the left and right side above the top two license plate holes. They don’t have any purpose. Do you know what they are for? Rain and mud could get in there. When you go to artec website, they have pics with these plates with the two additional holes and some pics without the holes. I’m confused. I didn’t order the license plate light kit so why did we get the ones with the two additional holes?
Lmaooooo if I was doing that video, I would’ve had to edit out probably five minutes worth of swearing and yelling because I put the camera upside down. Great display of patience, right?
Hi JL392, the shop where I purchased my tires installed the tire adapter. I know you can purchase them here: www.Quadratec.com Thanks for watching and your question. Cheers, JC.
Hi El Duro, I use the Reese Pro 49903 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit with Sway Control. It’s what they had at the dealer where I purchased the camper. It’s easy to use and it works great. Hi, Brett. Yes, There is an option to buy the light kit along with the plate. I did not purchase the light since my license plate is on the bumper with its OEM light. Thanks for watching and your questions. Cheers, JC.
@@Ultracon I still have it on I feel safer with the bracket like no one will bump into my backside lol...no spare though it definitely lost weight without plus I couldn't lift the spare had I needed it.
@@WimpyWorkouts Rebbys, the truth is I loved the look of my 35” tire on the rack. I invested in the rim and tire. I had to take out the tire since I tow a camper trailer.
