    Its a very good and high quality rod. I use 7 wt 10 ft for seatrout fishing in sweden. It can stand the wind and casts great with rio coastal seatrout line. The only drawbacks are the weight and swing weight which are on the heavy side despite the name "ultralight"

    Honest and useful opinions on gear in this space are hard to come by. Thanks again.

    Love this rod - seems to love the amplitude mpx line too! Fished in high winds here in the uk and was able to get a line out - not as stiff as the sage igniter or the Orvis Helios 3D. Very happy with my purchase

      The MPX is a great line pairing, for sure. Thanks for watching!

    I know you were not a fan of the method but I love it for long distance casting from the boat. How does this X stack up to the method or igniter?

    • @Tridentflyfishing

      A little bit better feel and fishability in-close

    Great review Ben. Out of the Ultralite and Ultralite X, which do you think would be a better choice for a dedicated stillwater rod, fishing from the bank?

    • @Tridentflyfishing
      @Tridentflyfishing  2 роки тому +1

      Stillwater only... I'd go for more distance and get the X

    In the uk or Britain hardy are the top and most exclusive fishing name the quality will b spot on but ur paying for rayan warrants and history of what Hardy stands for to us brits hardy would be rolls Royce orvis don’t come close but ovs over there it would b orvis

    • @Thwarptide
      @Thwarptide 2 роки тому

      Sorry, but nobody in the USA considers the likes of Orvis or even Redding comparable to a Rolls. For the most part Orvis and Redding are regarded for their entry level and intermediate offerings. Yeah they have some expensive models, but not many folks prefer them over the likes of Sage. Orvis and Redding try (and fail) to make their product lines here in the USA, but its mostly just hit or miss. Sage is 100% American made as Hardy is 100% British.

    Don’t buy a Hardy rod their customer service is atrocious.

      I've only found the exact opposite to be fair. I've always had fantastic service from them. What I don't like, and they are all the same. Sage, Hardy, Scott, Winston etc... The 'Lifetime' warranty, is not your lifetime. Only the lifetime of the range. As soon as its out the catalogue, after a few months it's obsolete, so if you break it, tough.
