Plethora of stock options including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, backup camera that beeps for moving vehicles, full power driver seat, leather and cloth seats, sun/moonroof, rear passenger air vents behind the front center console, fog lights, dual exhaust, black chrome front grille, trunk lip spoiler, 19" wheels, plenty of cargo and passenger space. Only thing missing are minor things like side mirror signal lights, no door panel lights, no glovebox light, no navigation... all things I could do without in order to own a 6 speed sport trim with that 2.0 turbocharged i-vetc engine. I will say the 19"wheels do create a bit of road noise and the sound system needs an upgrade, but the handling, the power and torque, the comfort is grade-A for a 32k price tag. if Honda can guarantee long-term reliability of the drive-train (CVT paired to 1.5T engine), then this could compel some Camry shoppers to switch.. But If I must have a 2019 Honda Accord it has to be the 2.0L T with 10 speed Auto and all the options that go with it. Great review.

Yeah I bought the lx for 21,000 I wanted the sport but it was 25,000. 3000 may not seem like a lot but the faster I pay it off and less loan the better lol the lx is plenty enough for anyone
Raiti I love your review! The Accord for me brings back memories and I love them. I drove a 94 Accord DX in high school. It was about 15 years old and I loved it. I’m 6’ tall as well and the 94 had plenty of headroom. I’m currently working on saving for a new car and wanna know how the headroom is for you? One more question, Do you think they’ll do a different taillight design soon?
Top of the line review like always, Raiti could make a death announcement seem exciting👍 I've seen both side by side and the Camry just looks too weird with all the cuts and slashes on the front end, the Accord just looks more high end outside and inside.
Sick of the CVT bashing. It is the smoothest driving experience available from an ICE car. And it the most efficient transmission. People, if you want shifts, grow a pair and get the manual.
Great review, Joe! I'm a self-described GM loyalist, but if I was in the market for a new midsize sedan, I would purchase a Honda Accord. Honda did an outstanding job on the new Accord, especially the interior design and interior quality. My only complaint about the interior is that, if my memory serves me correctly, the rear upper door panels are hard plastic as opposed to the front upper door panels, which are soft-touch plastic.
I bought the first 2018 Accord 2.0 Touring off the lot last year. Unfortunately I get hit pretty hard and my car was written off. I was able to walk out with bumps and bruises. Air bags saved my bacon. I can attest to it being safe in accidents. I liked it a lot. I have the option of looking around and I have, but iI will be going back to the Accord. It had everything I needed and more. I owned a Acura TL before this and loved that car. I test drove both and realized I liked the Accord better. I like the 9th Gen as well, but the shape and design of the new one works for me.
I know I'm coming late, but nice review. After checking out the Honda Insight, I noticed that the Accord LX is priced similarly. I find it interesting how they're so similar in price yet so radically different in every other way.
I appreciate your video. I really want this new accord but the Mazda 3 sedan has also caught my eye. This video helped proved that this is the best car for me’ Mazda’s back seats look SO tight!!
Honda, Toyota and other autos maker out there are experiment CVT transmission. My old honda with 350K miles still run smooth without any transmission and engine problems.
There was a time when the automatic transmission was experimental too. Gotta start somewhere. But the CVT has been around for ages. It's quickly gaining traction as the preferred transmission of choice. Manual transmission is gone from the Accord and step transmissions are falling out of favor with many automakers. Hold on to your "old Honda" since you hate the CVT.
I have a 2018 accord sport with the 1.5t and I have gotten it into the 40's for mpg!. My commute is on backroads a lot going around 45-50 mph for about 45 minutes, but believe me it's possible!
@@donkey3187sport and above has the 8 inch touchscreen but other than that it’s the same. i personally like the wheels of the lx better but it sucks not having carplay
Very fair review as are others of yours. Clicked like and finally subscribed. I went back and forth between the Accord and Camry, they're both such great choices! Motor Trend and most reviews pick the Accord over the Camry but I recently chose the 2019 Camry SE because I plan to keep the car ten years, driving in cold winters. Honda is having Direct Injection/oil dilution/contamination nightmares on this engine in cold climates like I live in. So far they admit it in the Civic and CR-V but I'm sure the Accord with the same 1.5L turbo engine is affected too. Not a big deal down South but we do a lot of short trips every day in freezing weather. Turbo seems to aggravate the problem but the Camry doesn't have that. Anyway, this isn't a huge issue unless you happen to live in the cold climates and make lots of short trips. I had to think about getting ten or more trouble free years out of a car in cold weather. Toyota and Ford use a dual direct and port gas injection that seems to resolve the DI only problem. We'll see as this story plays out over the years, heck there may be a horror story brewing for Toyota.
Thank you so much for your kind words and your support! I don't think anyone can fault you for going in the direction that you went it! I really appreciate you adding your input!
Toyota had three active recalls for pistons too large, fuel injectors, and fuel lines. Problems have also been reported with the transmission. People have posted videos of it.
@@czluver4338 Recalls - sound like Toyota is taking care of problems. Has Honda recalled these engines? Last I heard they say buy a block heater, change the oil often and don't drive short trips, instead of 5 miles drive 20! No wonder they're being sued. The future always is a gamble, we all place our bets, some win, some lose.
Oct. 8th...also I just bought this car tonight! Same colors and all. I test drove it and didnt realize I didn't even drive it in sport mode. Looking forward to it when I pick it up tomorrow! Lol
Excellent review. Looking at a used 2019 Accord to replace my 17 Malibu Premier that was recently totaled. Had a few Hondas in my day and loved every one.
I just bought a 2019 Honda Accord EX. It’s my second Accord, I used to own a 2005. I love the new car, however, there are a few disappointments: the sound system is just not that great; I also don’t like the way the engine idles, it seems very noisy to me for a Honda; and finally, this is my first time owning a car with a CVT and I’ve not read many positive reviews about it. I’ll have to wait and see how it does. Other than that, I love the car. I’ve had it about two weeks now.
Isaac, that’s the car I’m considering buying right now but I am also looking at the Toyota Camry XLE. I don’t know what to do. I like the interior design of the accord better though. I’m worried about reliability and the drive. But I really like that the Accord has the adaptable cruise control that lets you stop and go along with the car in front of you. The Camry will come to full stop but won’t keep going after the stopped car in front of you starts moving again. Any updates on your experience?
I just bought a 2019 Accord LX on Jan 31st 2020 for 20k all cash. Mine has dual exhaust. Drives like a acura tlx sha . The bluetooth software is horrible, you cant dial from steering wheel. Voice command software is stoneage compared to Ford. No touchscreen. Seats are super roomy and comfortable for a 300 lbs man. Kids love it. Trunk is huge.
The rear looks ugly and from the side it is wayyy too long. Honda needs a better designer. The toyota sedan looks better aside from the fake rear vents.
Turbos will put more stress on an engine period...oil consumption issues from previous generations of the Camry were addressed and hopefully fixed. People don't primarily buy Honda Accords or Toyota Camry's for small differences in handling and looks...its for reliability.
I have tested both cars, I like the Camry more, but that's my taste. like you said, no manual on Camry, on this one is looks and interior that I like more in the Camry, still both are great sellers and awesome cars. Great video Joe.
When you consider base price of a hair under 24grand it's a great bargain esp with all the standard features & plenty of hp, it's a no brainer because you can't beat honda reliability
Only the grill and taillights; everything else is better. The wheel size i hate on both the touring has 19 inch rims with low profile tires. I would like something with 55 aspect ratio. I hate that all the new vehicles have low profile tires.
I owned an accord for 11 years, just about 138K engine started burning oil, I went to Honda dealer, told him the issue that I have on my accord, dealer replied me by saying "I have same problem with my civic" . I like Honda better than Toyota but some Honda car's engine dies just about 130K.
Awesome review as always but when you step up into the sport you get 19 inch Factory machine at gloss black wheels also when you step into the EXL or 2.0 sport those are totally different animals same motor as the type are different ECU and different tuning the 200 sport has an option of a 10-speed automatic. Or a 6 speed manual. But what really makes the new Accord special is K Pro and hondata make tuning software to make both cars wake up you can get over 300 horsepower and 380 foot pounds of torque just with the K Pro and nothing else if you decide that's not enough you can run a PRL front pipe mid pipe downpipe change the front mount and what he 85 for well over 400 horsepower that's what makes the Accord superior to the Camry and the Mazda you cannot choose either of those cars you got that exhaust but you're very limited on improvements as far as horsepower and torque
@@RaitisRides They aren't great points. 19 inch wheels make the ride feel like herpes and the tire cost as well can be double over the Camry's 16/17 inch wheels.
No 6...pass on the Four...see Subaru 4x4. 8.5 ground clearance..no,turbo...I like the look but for 40K we'll equip Close to,50 with the kitchen sink. Sounds like a four....that iPad on the dash makes me laugh..wife owned accord 6..so I know Hondas ..she just bought two Subaru crosstreks for her and daughter...not a race car but quick..for most..Flat four well tested. and you can get a stick for fun...Honda is nice looking. But expensive in this economy
I am surprised that everyone says the Camry is the Accords competition. I went this past weekend and drove and bought the better car. I expected to end up with the Toyota. I drove the Accord sport first and was off to drive the Camry. I couldn’t believe the differences. That car wasn’t even close. After few miles of driving told sales lady that i was sorry for wasting her time. Went back to honda and bought my accord sport. Hands down it’s a much nicer car for same money
23+ minutes in, still no discussion yet of comparison to Camry until 23:15. And even then the only comparison is to say Camry offers no 6MT but Accord does. Title suggests 2019 Accord/Camry comparison. Title should be 2019 Accord LX Sedan review.
I like the styling of the 2013 - 2017 9th gen accord. This one I'm not crazy about, the front end drops straight down and has that big black snout, the fastback is ok , back of 9th gen looks better than this one IMO. This may be a better car but not on board with the styling. That tablet screen looks like an afterthought. Maybe they can eventually integrate it into the dash instead of it sticking up, would look much better. Good review thanks.
The Accord is clearly more of a driver's car than the Camry. Better handling and performance. I have an 18 EX Accord that I bought a year and now has 15k miles. No mechanical problems whatsoever!!! The fuel economy is superb. I know that people have mixed feelings about the styling. I actually like the radical design. Overall, the engineers at Honda did a great job on the new design!! There's a reason why the Accord has been named as one of best sedans for over 30 years! Toyota can't say that! Toyota had their issues year with a recall due to the accelerator sticking which caused fatal accidents!! The oil dilution only occurs in very cold climates and has been an issue in the CRV. If you step up to the 2.0 platform on the Accord you really have a true sports sedan!! Kudos to Honda!!
If shopping a base your expectations are kind low going in so either option (Accord/Camry) should simply come down to looks. IMO you can't go wrong as both are well built cars and offer decent standard equipment. Base model wheels are perfect for the folks looking in this price range p.s. I voted with my money and got the SPORT 2.0 with a 6 speed. Nice review !
If I wanted to get a 4 door sedan/hatchback bigger than the Honda Civic Sport/Subaru Impreza Sport, I would definitely make the new Honda Accord Sport 2.0L, maybe even the 1.5L, since it had more juice/power than the Civic version of that engine. The Camry would be a consideration if the put Android Auto in the new Toyotas instead of Amazon Alexia. But I saw the 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD, that looks really nice if you want perfomance, style, and can afford it, and wait for it. I'm not sure if the automatic on the Accord 2.0 is a CVT, but the problem with the manual transmission versions is they are hard to find. And I believe for the non Si/Type T manual has a lot of travel for the shifter, though there are aftermarket short throw kits, but are kind of involved to install. If I go with the manual for reliability and durability, it must have a decently shorter throw, like you mentioned on the Impreza Sport previously.
@@andersonrodriguez8258 Yeah, the 2.0L Accord Sport is the gem, anyway. I wanted the Honda Civic Sport Hatchback, but probably going to opt for the Sport Sedan with the non turbo 2.0L, that had keyless entry, pu se button start, and the updated/upgraded stereo.
jjacob25101 yes stick to the 2.0 but try finding a manual Honda auto transmission not gonna last like a Toyota one so if u get the Honda get the manual
@@orionv.13 I'm test driving both tomorrow... I heard the Accord isn't as reliable as they once were. The 2.7 liter Twin turbo Ecoboost AWD is a beast and pretty reliable.
I believe the Accord is a better quality car than the Camry. My Gf drives a 2004 Accord EX and I drive a Camry. i’m just always impressed by the quality of her car build and features in comparison to mind. You can find the small details where the engineers actually put though into it where as in Toyota skips out on these base models and give you bare minimum with cheap interior parts.
chenzy4200 They still found a way to screw me . The LX is one amazing car even base trim , but no apple car play on the LX is just inexcusable. My Elantra I had before had apple car play . I’m just hoping there are aftermarket radio options for the 2018 at some point.
I had my 2016 Altima totaled last week, was going to replace it with a new Altima until I started reading the reviews. The crazy thing is the new Accord with all these features are much cheaper than the Altima. I loved the Altima never had a problem, just the Honda seems to be a much better value. I just got a quote 21,500 for a new Honda Accord!!
just terrified of the turbo into a 1.5L tiny engine, WITH potential oil dilution issues, combined with a CVT where we don't really have a great sample size of long-term reliability. 3 risks, compared to Camry's weird 8-speed auto risk. Camry's headlights are also better than Accord. I prefer the Accord's seats/driving position, but Camry is more quiet inside. Accord LX handles better than Camry L (discontinued for 21) and LE, but SE is a tough call. I though the LX was more nimble, and SE feeling a little heavier. CVT is nice never having to search for the right gear.. but 8-speed is nice simply having gears, though it isn't the smoothest. I'm saying after test driving LX, LE and SE 3x in the past 2 weeks and doing extensive research.
Thanks for reviewing this entry level.

Thank you Edgar for your awesome support! I have never received a compliment like that before! lol
Sick of the CVT bashing. It is the smoothest driving experience available from an ICE car. And it the most efficient transmission. People, if you want shifts, grow a pair and get the manual.
Thanks for taking the time to share your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Thank you Daniel for saying that! Thank you so much for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Honda Accord.....the greatest car ever made...best price to performance...best resale value...best reliability....!
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for sharing that crazy experience that you had! I am so glad that things worked out well for you and that you are okay. What are you in now?

No glove box light. 😳

I know I'm coming late, but nice review. After checking out the Honda Insight, I noticed that the Accord LX is priced similarly. I find it interesting how they're so similar in price yet so radically different in every other way.
I just bought a gray EX yesterday. It came with extra upgrades(bought demo car). I love it so far.
I love how you give full details in ur videos I have subscribed 😊 I love to see ur contents! ❤
Thank you for sharing that amazing story about your experience!
Honda has been using the CVT for years as far back as the 90s
There was a time when the automatic transmission was experimental too. Gotta start somewhere. But the CVT has been around for ages. It's quickly gaining traction as the preferred transmission of choice. Manual transmission is gone from the Accord and step transmissions are falling out of favor with many automakers. Hold on to your "old Honda" since you hate the CVT.
Only issue I think in long terms are the turbos which causes too much heat that will cause the engine to mess up
That is an excellent point!
Henry Navarrete that’s why I ended up with a Camry
Just not sure if that 1.5 turbo can go 200k plus miles
Love the infotainment screen, at least it doesn't look like the iPad glued to the dash like the Mercedes C series.
That is a very good point!
I have a 2018 accord sport with the 1.5t and I have gotten it into the 40's for mpg!. My commute is on backroads a lot going around 45-50 mph for about 45 minutes, but believe me it's possible!
I was surprised to see an absence of a rear center armrest. Joe decided not to zonk it. Nice review! Thanks!
Thanks Josh for sharing your input on the rear armrest. I concur with your zonk! Thanks for watching!
Honest to goodness review! I just wanted to see the basic model Accord, good work!

I totally agree with you!

Excellent review. Looking at a used 2019 Accord to replace my 17 Malibu Premier that was recently totaled. Had a few Hondas in my day and loved every one.
Thank you for letting me share it with you!
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!

Both Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are better buys over the European junk cars.

The rear looks ugly and from the side it is wayyy too long. Honda needs a better designer. The toyota sedan looks better aside from the fake rear vents.

CVT Transmissions are here to stay 🤷♂️
I'm not a fan of them but it is what it is.
That is a ver good point!
No they’re not. Drive any Mazda. Crisp and fuel efficient 6 speed auto.
David Sparling there's talk of them switching over to the CVT in a future model years.
Turbos will put more stress on an engine period...oil consumption issues from previous generations of the Camry were addressed and hopefully fixed. People don't primarily buy Honda Accords or Toyota Camry's for small differences in handling and looks...its for reliability.
42SVB that’s why I bought a Camry.
I just don’t know if you can get 200-300k miles on a turbo charged engine.
@@txtchjmb29 There are some naturally aspirated engines that won't make it to 200 to 300k miles either.

This is a hard answer i mean they are both reliable, but i do think that Honda Accord 2017 looks a little better than 2018 design.
This is so very true!
Only the grill and taillights; everything else is better. The wheel size i hate on both the touring has 19 inch rims with low profile tires. I would like something with 55 aspect ratio. I hate that all the new vehicles have low profile tires.

BANGLA TV 4 cylinder or v6
BANGLA TV oh I have v6 and I have to replace the timing belt soon and that shit is EXPENSIVE!!!
BANGLA TV uh 4 cylinder doesn’t have belt it has chain
Thank you so much Alex for sharing those really great points!
@@RaitisRides They aren't great points. 19 inch wheels make the ride feel like herpes and the tire cost as well can be double over the Camry's 16/17 inch wheels.

Thanks William for sharing your thoughts on this one!
How is the seat comfort, though? I’m interested in the LX and Sports trims. Thanks in advance.
23+ minutes in, still no discussion yet of comparison to Camry until 23:15. And even then the only comparison is to say Camry offers no 6MT but Accord does. Title suggests 2019 Accord/Camry comparison. Title should be 2019 Accord LX Sedan review.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
And you still managed to survive a whole year! You're stronger than you think!
You have some really great input Ken! Thanks for sharing!
Very well said! Thank you so much for sharing those great points! I hope I can track down a Honda Sport 2.0 6 speed soon to review!
If I go with the manual for reliability and durability, it must have a decently shorter throw, like you mentioned on the Impreza Sport previously.
jjacob25101 don’t get the 1.5 has some major issues in general engine has problems haven’t being recalls yet

My Gf drives a 2004 Accord EX and I drive a Camry. i’m just always impressed by the quality of her car build and features in comparison to mind. You can find the small details where the engineers actually put though into it where as in Toyota skips out on these base models and give you bare minimum with cheap interior parts.

just terrified of the turbo into a 1.5L tiny engine, WITH potential oil dilution issues, combined with a CVT where we don't really have a great sample size of long-term reliability.
