In the book for Daniel it says there wont be any sacrifices for 70 years, however, it does not say anything about remission of sins... Can you please clarify for me? I like to fully understand... So I wondered if that could be because it can't be done? Or maybe only though marriage? I've heard of the odd Hollywood celebrities convert to marry a Jewish spouse.
@@sashsash6679 you are 100% correct.In Judaism the rule is very specific and a convert has to agree to a heavy commitment of keeping all the laws which are very detailed.A convert cannot convert just to marry a Jewish boy/girl friend either.They're very strict,basicly try to weed out the men from the boys,no exchanges,no returns,so you have to be pretty committed to do this.And... who likes commitment....?
Because, in Judaism, you don't need to become Jewish. We believe nonjews have a role to play, and G-d made a covenant with them just as He did with Jews, starting with the descendants of Noah for nonjews.
Also, converting isn't easy and takes over a year. The reason why is because the rabbi is actually protecting you. If you become a Jew, you have the rules of a Jew, not the rules of a nonjew, and Jews have 613 rules to follow, rather than 7 sets of rules for the nonjew. If you become Jewish, G-d will also punish you as a Jew, which can be harsher if you don't keep all 613 mitzvot.
So because they don't try to convert people, Judaism isn't everywhere in the world like Christianity and Islam is. You don't see a billion Jews. So it's harder to find synagogues and Rabbi's in some countries and cities because of this, and many western and middle eastern countries, really any country with Christians and Muslims, have historically and currently have people that hate Jews, making it harder to find them in many places.
Places like Japan don't have anti-Semitism because their culture wasn't influenced by Christianity or Islam, but there also aren't many Jews in these places for that same reason: western peoples haven't really moved over to these places, so that means many Jews haven't either.
