Unfortunately I haven't tested dairy free alternatives. Have you tried my white wine sauce? You can make that and substitute capers for red pepper. Enjoy!
Capers are captivating..I lived my whole life never seeing them nowadays I could eat a whole jar!

Made it tonight, was a hit. How do you keep from curdling? Low heat?
Yes, low and slow will help prevent curdling :)
you can also try adding just a touch of starchy pasta water to prevent curdling.
