Great to see the good work. Fab to see Bugs back. Having spent 30 years on 24/7 shifts it still amazes me the number of people who just wake up and find that work like the roads being gritted / cleared etc and carry on without regard to people and effort required to work overnight and don’t understand the impact that it has on your body etc. We’re lucky in the UK that we don’t often get much deep snow despite being further North than much of the USA (jet stream helps in this regard) and our highways authorities pre grit primary and secondary level routes though often leave side roads and tertiary level routes untreated.

There are these guys in Vermont who run a John Deere tractor with a monster snowblower on it. It's a nice service that some people will pay more for to keep a blade off their driveways. And also doesn't make snowbanks It's a pretty neat concept.
I actually say this about 20 times a night when I help a guy push snow. This year I don’t even have to run a shovel so it’s super easy money! Hours can be lame but the equipment is nice and heated so I keep showing up
13:50 I had a giant Snow Dogg vplow and at a reserve center I did the snow removal, I could pull up to the side walks along the parking lot, straighten my plow and drop it and back drag the side walks off. Then come through and push the snow away from the side walks and go on with the rest of the lot. That was a pretty cool gig at that particular place. Had a trailer setup there with a snow blower and salt spreader and salt. Of all the places to plow, that was my favorite.
I never pre salt unless the customer pays extra for the service which is very rare. I feel the same way like I'm just wasting salt because you have to do it again anyways 🙃. Like the videos keep em coming

Nice to see buggs again 🙂❄️ This is how they do it over here and what i know: 🥶Sprinkle after clearing snow It is important to spread preventively instead of curatively, so before it becomes slippery. In this way, permanent road safety can be guaranteed and salt consumption can be kept under control: 1 kg of preventive spreading can save 5 kg of curative spreading.🥶 I hope it was some helpfull information for you
Same thing with Chicago lol. Especially at ohare airport where I work. Deicing is the best job in the world in my opinion. You make great content keep up the amazing work!!!!!
Sometimes they miss, you'll hear "several inches" and only get a couple. And I vividly remember once only calling for "one inch or less", wound up with over two feet. (February 1998)
We got 35 inches last week. 5 feet total in 2 weeks. We broke 5 plow trucks. And had to use skid loaders because the snow was too deep. Oh and we got 10 hrs of rain in the middle of it. So a huge layer of ice because it dropped into the teens right after. Great video as always!!!
Hey Ryan, I am gonna be starting my own Pressure Washing business but I live in Minnesnowta... so its only a seasonal business. I am looking into also starting a snow removal/salting business as well but dont know enough about it. Could you maybe sometime in the future make a video about equipment expenses, how you found your first customers and so on? Would be appreciated greatly! have an amazing New Year!
Only thing I presalt would be on Sidewalks. Waste of Salt on Driveways. Reason I do Sidewalks, while it wont Last thur a Winter storm or such. It just Helps early on when snow is just starting off, prevents the snow from sticking right away. So people still have a bit of clear path for abit.
Love the snowplowing content. My favorite thing to do is snowplowing. I have 18 accounts. 3 of them are commercial properties and the rest are residential. I salt 2 of the commercial properties.
Pre-salting helps make it easier to clear snow since it prevents it from sticking and icing but if the snow is too much I don't think there are any benefits. If you plow before the salt even disinegrates, you're picking up the snow and salt and would have to resalt so that's a waste. If you presalt and the snow begins coming down too fast the salt disinegrates and you have enough snow on the ground to the point it's time to shovel/plow and salt won't do anything. Postsalt has worked great. Good to see you working again.
No pre salt here ! Usually I stared out the window , then the weather channel. After the energy buzz wore off I would take a nap. Only to wake with a foot of snow down and I couldn't get up my drive way lol . After a few of them the boss wanted my on site a day before the snow lol. Great Content , good luck and keep them. Coming.
When I lived in North Georgia / Chattanooga Tennessee area they always missed the snow forecast. I now live in Maine, I am amazed at how accurate they are! If they say 10 inches starting Friday at 8:00am , it will snow at 8:00.
I do housing maintenance on a military base and its guys like you that make it so I can do my job, all private contractors, local guys, guys I went to school with. Side note its nice to see you didn't get hammered too bad, we got about a foot, foot and a half last night and of coarse I'm on call for urgents and emergencies lol.
Very nice! We had 8"-12" here in CT. last night... They were calling for 3" - 6" for the most part. Close only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades... and Weather Forecasting, I guess. Stay Safe Ryan!!! Nice video!!!
Hello Ryan, Glad to see some coin coming your way! The big yellow plow on the Bobcat is super cool. Heated cab, hydraulics, what more could you want? The weather people in the central Sierra have been getting a workout this year- almost as much as the plow operators. Guess there has been some snowfall when the ski resorts have to delay opening until they can shovel out the lifts. Saw some snow on a van the other day. That fills my quota of snow for the year. Do not really miss it a bit.
Good to see Bugs, not on his hands and knees for once. I'd love to try my hand at ploughing, with good equipment, and I've no problem watching it. Don't find it repetitive at all. The skidsteers are grat machines for that work, let you get right into places and start from the back. Must be much easier than a truck and much more accurate in tight spaces. As long a the heater, wipers and demister all work, I'd be quite happy. I suppose a few lights will help too.😁👍

It is important to spread preventively instead of curatively, so before it becomes slippery. In this way, permanent road safety can be guaranteed and salt consumption can be kept under control: 1 kg of preventive spreading can save 5 kg of curative spreading.🥶
I hope it was some helpfull information for you
Same thing with Chicago lol.
I love this channel, also need more becons on your truck.
You can also get a boiler setup for your pressure washer and do ice dames
Love the videos man keep up the awesome work you do
Thank you
Only thing I presalt would be on Sidewalks. Waste of Salt on Driveways. Reason I do Sidewalks, while it wont Last thur a Winter storm or such. It just Helps early on when snow is just starting off, prevents the snow from sticking right away. So people still have a bit of clear path for abit.
I remember these days in Boston but not much snow in Florida I do miss the season changes it refreshes the soul !
Of course salt helps, but the amount of salt you waste for that little bit of help isn’t worth your time and money
I should have sent you back with a MATCO ratchet Ryan! Haha, just playing nice video brother!
That’s cool Ryan really liking the ploughing 👌🏻
Awesome video. Please show us more snow plowing content. I'm jealous down here in florida. Thanks Ryan. Stay safe.
Brilliant job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I find it satisfying to watch snow get plowed or shoveled even if you didn’t speed it up I would still enjoy it 💪🏼 I know I’m not the only one
Very nice! We had 8"-12" here in CT. last night... They were calling for 3" - 6" for the most part. Close only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades... and Weather Forecasting, I guess. Stay Safe Ryan!!! Nice video!!!
They also said we were going to have light powdery snow. And I can tell you for a fact that it was not. 😭 I was in the Hartford area
Ryan your the guy a bunch of kids or even 1 could ask for.
It's amazing
I totally agree with u on the cold being harder to do stuff
I hope MrBOBBY is Safe and warm in his nice to see BUG out in the Snow.Have a prosperous new year Rynn.Trev Barnsley South Yorkshire England 🏴.
Motorhome 🙂.
Loved the video! Your #1 fan
You’re a inspiration Ryan
Good to see Bugs, not on his hands and knees for once. I'd love to try my hand at ploughing, with good equipment, and I've no problem watching it. Don't find it repetitive at all. The skidsteers are grat machines for that work, let you get right into places and start from the back. Must be much easier than a truck and much more accurate in tight spaces.
As long a the heater, wipers and demister all work, I'd be quite happy. I suppose a few lights will help too.😁👍
Cool video!! I love seeing snow get out in its place, lol . Looks like Easy Money!!!! Have a good one, say hi to Bugs. Blessings
That truck you run is a beast
Love the editing and the notes when time lapsing! Kinda
Amazed your allowed to run a skid loader on the streets, we can't do that here in NJ. Wish we could, would make the job so much easier.
