I bough a set of Defender 2, I’m impressed how quiet and comfortable is the ride.
Very comprehensive. I picked up a set of defender twos because they’re quieter. Looking forward to receiving them
Thanks for the feedback, spartaleonidas641! The Defender 2's are indeed known for their quieter ride. Hope you have a great experience with them. Do keep us updated on how they perform for you.
I got 4 Defender 2's last week from a local tire shop. Low profile specs, but still very quiet.
Great comparison!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the comparison, very useful as I am lookin to purchase either from Costco. You mention that the X should last longer, but the UTQG ratings are the same between the two. I live in the Bay Area, minimal rain so perhaps the X is a better choice. Any idea which tire would provide better MPG?
That is correct, X is better here.
excellent video!!!
Thanks man
What is your best recommendation for wet traction and longevity for a 2007 honda accord
Well none of these tires are good enough for wet, TBH. You may want to check out Kinergy PT by Hankook instead.
I got confused by your video. Based on what I watched here, the Defender 2 is a better overall tire than the X Tour as2?
Well, then I recommend you checking out the article on our website, its pretty detailed.
Nice work guys!

@@comparethetire You're welcome!!! 👊
Got my defender 2s installed today and was blown away by the lack of sound. They are quiet!
Yup, standard touring at its finest.
How long last after using?
Depends on your usage, but generally they last great as they are standard touring tires. Defender 2 has better longevity btw off the two tires here.
Wet traction is the most important to me.
@noahmeme2
If wet traction is your priority, there are better options out there, than these two here.
Well, I believe Michelin made the CrossClimate 2s for better wet traction and it is supposedly a great tire. Plenty of comparisons on YT.
Both tires look like the Michelin X one tire of the late 90's
Interesting comparison! It’s cool to see how tire designs evolve over time, yet some features remain classic. What do you think about the performance of the newer tires compared to those Michelin X ones from the 90s?
@@comparethetire The Michelin X One was touted as 80,000 mile tire as well, but at that time the consumer was skeptical about that claim. Most Allseason tires of that Era were 40,000 to 50,000 miles, and that was considered great milage.
@@comparethetire As regards to performance The Michelin Pilot XGTV4 was hard to beat. Or the Bridgestone potenza SO2 Pole Position. These were absolutely astonishing tires for the time, and I would total put them up against anything we have today. Honorable mention to the Dunlap SP9000 ,and the Pirelli P Zero
I have the A/S almost to 100k miles
Nice
I think the Defender 2 wins
Yes, you can say that.
Tire squeal turned me off listening to this.
Sorry about the tire squeal. We'll take note and try to improve in future videos.
