Question- can you major in businesses as an undergraduate and then go to dental school after or do you have to major in chemistry or biology and why?
Yes, you can study business. Just research the requirements for the graduate program and the class requirements. Perhaps you might have to take calculus and general chemistry. Once you do the requirements, you will know.

Im dying to know. How does bite stay after orthtodontist said we can stop wearing the elastic. We all know that not compliant wearing your elastic at all time will not make ur bite into correct position, but i always wonder what if after the bite has corrected and we no longer asked to wear the elastic, how will the bite stay like that.

Do rubber bands always fix small over bites?
So I have an overjet, but my orthodontist is making me wear my bands from my back top teeth to my front lower teeth, which doesn’t make sense to me. Surely that would make the overjet worse?

My name is Sarah Sebastian I have my braces for above 8 months . The orthodontist just removed my bite blocks at my last visit. But my overbite or overjet is still over. The told going to need rubber bands in my treatment plan. My question do they hurt and how long into your treatment do start wearing them.

I don’t know where I fit in these. I was told at my orthodontic evaluation that I had a deep bite. I started braces in February 2021 and my upper teeth shifted nicely. My bite is no longer deep. I was recently placed in elastics that go from my upper canines to back molars, down to the bottom canines and first premolars. “Trapezoid” as I was told. What does this shape target? I forgot to ask at my appointment.

I’m slowly every yr getting teeth worn down from reflux and grinding built up with Crowns. My dentist says it’s too complicated, I’ll need surgery. My bottom teeth are out in front off my top. I had braces as a kid that were supposed to put my front teeth over my bottoms to keep them from coming forward. It didn’t seem to do that. He says I’ll likely need jaw surgery? I really want to correct this underbite. I’m 50 now, but get issues with my nose, with sleep apnea. I think this is a major reason. I get TMJ. I wonder if thus is more seeing my Doctor to see about surgery?

I have overjet i have got my rubber band but now i feel I can’t close my lips .
Also my lip philtrum looks more roundy because my teeth located under there and copy it shape
does it matter which order you apply the elastics for a over-jet or overbite ? top to bottom or bottom to top?

Hi Dr. Nate, thanks for the great videos! I have an overjet of 7 mm and went to 3 orthodontists and all of them say I need to get braces for a couple of years and surgery. I had braces when I was a teen but don't know if I had an overjet then and why they didn't fix it at that point. Why do some patients with an overjet don't need surgery? The surgery really scares me :( the orthodontists say its either braces and surgery or nothing

Surgery corrects the jaw, whereas braces typically just correct teeth. If you're bottom jaw is too far back compared to your top, braces is likely not going to fully correct your problem :(
I have braces with an edge to edge/slight underbite bite right now. My western dental ortho put elastics on in the class 3 underbite configuration, however its been 4 weeks and I see ZERO change after wearing my elastics religiously every day. when should I expect to see any change?
You may need stronger rubber bands.

Hi I have a personal question be honest do dental school or jobs for dental when you have to choose between 2 students all have the same history of education but one only speaks English and the other is bilingual do jobs/dental school look for diversity? Like do they have a higher chance to get in than others
Any trait you can have that makes you more desirable hire helps. Being bilingual definitely helps but nothing is more important than personality.
