It’s a great licence to hold. If you use it!! I was in tankers & I loved tanker work & then into field. Money is probably best in the business no nights out for me on tankers. I can’t wait to get back to tankers.
I did my ADR and it was a great choice. I do Class 1 ADR Tramping now and love it. Earn good money but regardless of that it is another string to the bow. From watching your videos you have done a variety of work so this will only add to that and give you even more choices going forward
I’ve got my full adr license 2 months ago, also been offered fuel tanker job but didn’t take it as I’m happy with my current job. Can still use in the future if I want to change job…
Good luck billy I did my ADR As you know I went into tanker work Money no better for massive responsibility remember its only a 5 year ticket I'm sure you will do well I no longer use it Paul
Hi Billy, I'd like to do my ADR. I've only been driving hgv's for less then 2 months but when I have 1 or 2 years experience I think I will do it. Last guy I spoke to with ADR was on 55k.
Hi billy Just started doing my class 1 , Iv had my psv license for 13years so I’m completely fine with the size of the vehicle plus I used to drive the bendy buses around London when they was about in 2006 , it training is costly £3650 out of my own pocket! I’m worried about getting employed im hearing lots of horror stories about 2 years experience required ect any companies you could recommend about the Essex area ?
Are you doing ADR in tanks as well as in packages?? When you pass look for a company who makes and transports chemicals. That’s what I did 8 years ago and have never liked back since. Ignore this lot who say it’s no use, they havnt got a clue. Good luck Billy !
Billy I’m just about to take my class 1 training however all these horror stories of companies not taken new pass drivers on , I’m funding the training myself £3650 I watch your videos a lot and noticed you are around the Dartford area any advice on this please
Go for it buddy… I little advice would be. “Do not listen to everything you hear. Some will say negative things and some will say positive. Just pass, keep your head down, and do your job. There are very badly run companies but you’ll need to get your experience some how. There are also great companies out there to 👍
I am currently considering obtaining my HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence and would appreciate your advice on this matter. I have spoken to several drivers who are already in the industry and have received mixed feedback regarding the value and benefits of pursuing this qualification. Some have suggested that it is not worth the effort and investment. Given your experience and insight, I would greatly appreciate your perspective on whether obtaining an HGV licence is a worthwhile endeavour. Any guidance or information you could provide would be incredibly helpful in making an informed decision. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Good vid mate, I have had a full ADR for years including radioactives and Bang and tanks to be honest with you its not worth it, I earn alot more per hour working for a large parcel firm . when you consider the extra risks you are taking. I have done tankers for an extra £1 ph but you have to work day/nights and weekends. So in my humble option its nor worth the cost of the course.
After 20 years off ADR it’s not worth it You get told the answers in the course it’s a BIG N0 NO NO unless you do tankers then your have to take the course on tankers aswell as ADR As I said before you do nights out tramping is where your away for weeks even months
Hey Billy. Best of luck with the ADR course its super easy to pass. I did the course last month as a new pass with no HGV experience just so that i had another ticket to show on my CV now that im driving Class 1 its a relief that ive got the ticket (even thoguh im currently not using it) plus it lasts you for 5 years so who knows what opportunities may present themselves in the future. If your current company is not doing ADR work at the moment it'll be unlikely it will in the future ... too much hassle to retrofit the safety equipment to the cabs. Its a shame you've paid for the course yourself, the goverment are offering the course for free as a bootcamp but i dont think you'll qualify for the funding. Your just a talker you mate, you have a new job every other week, you’ve got no chance of landing a good ADR job and even if you do you’d leave after 4 weeks 💤😴

More hassle than it's worth. My own I let it run out.
