I've got 24 years this March with the Fire Dept. I can retire in 1 year. I told my wife to expect it, cancer gets us all. Did your department have the Heart and Lung bill? Interestingly enough I also enjoy leather work. I grew up as a missionary kid in Spain. Glad to hear you know where you will spend eternity. Trust me, Ill pray for you my friend.

Alexis, My family and I will pray for you and your family until you come though this. My father was diagnosed the same as you. He became a vegetarian and swore off processed sugar and it changed his life. MD Anderson in Houston was a game changer for him. This will not be easy, there is pain and frustration coming, but the power of faith will prevail. Find someone you trust that you can talk to and VENT, it is cathartic. WE ALL LOVE YOU and are praying for you. When you need help, reach out to the house we will be there for you and your family. If I can cut out and assemble your DIY kits for you, say the word and it will be done!

I stumbled upon your channel about two years ago and through this platform you have been an inspiration and influence for me and I’m sure tons of others out there. Not just in the leather working world but also as a man. Your constant strive to perfect your work and put out the best product. Attention the smallest subtle details because you know it makes a difference. Even your choice of the tools and materials you use and how you maintain them because you know they’re worth it. However the biggest inspiration is your value on family. It’s how you share and teach this sense of value and commitment to your boys. I’m sure that there are plenty of other lessons they have and will learn from you but I know these are definitely some that they will always remember. Prayers from my family to you and yours.
