@Vollhirni The dyno software automatically makes corrections based on temperature and other factors. If you've changed the stock muffler on your 525 to a less restrictive one then rejetting will definitely improve your power. Thanks!
I was really surprised that jetting leaner inconjunction with the desmog and muffler made such a difference. I reckon 9 out of 10 people would say that with you would expect to go richer on the jets BUT going from a 180 - 160 changes my thinking. I've put new cam and headers on my XR650L, and the big is running way rich...which I couldn't understand - this vid convinces me that going down on jets will still produce the power - thx :-)
@vivianmorresey The stock main jet is a 180 and we replace it with a 160. We also replace the stock needle (which is the size of a No.2 pencil) with a needle that has a more slender profile. Hope that helps.
@phoenix1925 Yup. 37hp stock! We dyno'd the bike as delivered from the factory, the only exception is that we fitted a street rear tire for proper dyno readings.
@phranquesaloan The polished stainless steel connector tube will turn a golden amber color after extended use (just like the stock head pipe will), which is normal.
Ok great. What elevation are you at? I will also need to know if you would recommend the same OCEMN needle. I ran the Two Bros CF on my CBR 600RR and I'm happy to see that you make one for my KTM. I will be purchasing soon. Cheers!
I recon that's uncorrected rear-wheel power? just wondering. I have a 2005 Beta 525, wich is a KTM 525 engine in italian frame, not so well known. Would you think I could gain power by jetting it? it's stock jetting afaik, with an open can (= race absortion damper). sounds awesome and really pulls better than with the stock exhaust, but still ... :-D. thanx for your time, and great video!!! Keep up the good work. cheer, greetings from germany, Jens
Are you just using keihin main jet and jet pilote ? The ocemn needle, where can we find one? What altitude are you guys at and is the setup good for cold temperatures such as 0deg celcius and under. Is the jetting ok with oem muffler ? Thx in advance, great job and video, very well done explaining step by step and very good quality
What elevation are you at? I ask because I ride 3500 and 4500 Ft. and I would like to know if this jetting would be correct for my application. Regards.
Sorry to bother you again but can I put these jets in and still run my stock pipe.I know I may not gain much but I hope the bike will run a little better. Thanks for your time TAKE CARE.
Get a jd jet kit it comes with more than a pilot, main and needle, it comes with a piece to shorten the stroke of the fuel pump and an o-ring that acts as an elasting band to increase throttle response, stock pipe is gay and heavy no matter what you do with it
@thereal2brothers Thanks for the quick response I will give it a try.I dont have a shop I do all my own work.Look for the guy on the road legal 530 ktm on the PRO line at the UNADILLA GNCC that will be me.take care and thanks again.
Nice video although a quick run through which I get. I have a 2007 525exc and when I first bought it it would hardly stay idling it was jetted so lean. Then it wouldn't even start. I got on the forums and read that the street legal bikes from the factory, which mine is one, are jetted very lean so that they meet DOT emissions requirements. I had the bike jetted rich and it has run like a dream ever since. You would think the KTM salesman would have clued me in. Oh well.

Joel explains the exact jets and needle used, starting at 1:18 into the video. Thanks for asking!
That's our Elite Series and can be ordered for most all of our exhaust applications. Thanks for asking.

Two Brothers pipes rock. That look is so sick on keep up the good work!

HUGE improvement!

you make the bike breath a lot better but how come You are downsizing the carburator parts?

@duceswild85 You'll want to go down at least one main jet size as a good place to start.
@michael970 It wouldn't hurt to try. Ask your shop for their advice since they are most familiar with your situation.
@patrikk777 The bike is KTM's "Champion Edition"

530 has only 37 stock horsepower?
@thereal2brothers thanx for the info-interesting!
