Been following you on UA-cam for years and appreciate all you do to advance the art of Theramin. Just now listening again to your rendition of Rachmaninov’s Vocalise and once again I’m transported. Thanks!
This is one of those few performances that make me tear up at the sheer, awe-inspiring beauty of human expression through music. Thank you for sharing your passion for music with us, Carolina.
I wonder how many tries and how much effort it took to get this performance this perfect, along with the years of training and self-improvement of control of the instrument. As a piano player and hope-to-be-thereminist, this was not only beautiful but also stunning.
Nowan Ilfideme as an amateur thereminist of a few years (not quite the level of the performer here but I can play a few things that don't sound awful and I could probably learn this piece with a lot of determination), the theremin is easy to learn but difficult to master. Try it! You can only learn by practice, and people are impressed by it even if you're not that good lmao
Carolina Eyck Hello Carolina, do you have a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? The Son of God. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Romans 10:9
@@conradinhawaii7856 well Conrad you can speak from your own experience but I have accepted Jesus Christ and I have been living with him and my heart since I was 5 years old believe it or not. I'm 70 this year. And I can tell you throughout the years then my Lord and my God has interacted with me on a spiritual level and a miraculous level that I think no one can deny. And your entitled to your opinion.
Carolina, through your performance, I (Russian, 50 yrs old) have discovered Rachmaninoff for myself as a genius melodist, whom I could hardly suspect before. Danke schon! Cheers! ))
Another marvelous performance. Each time you play I'm compelled to learn how to play the theremin myself. Thank you for your passion and love of the instrument and the art and dedication it takes to master it.
In the 1960's my Dad bought a 5 or 6 disc set of records by various composers, and VOCALISE was one of the shorter pieces included in it. When I first heard it I thought it was BEAUTIFUL! My Mom thought that it was too sad sounding, but, I've loved it all my life. This performance of it is DEFINITELY a MASTERPIECE!!! Carolina is AMAZING!!!! FUNNY THING IS: OF ALL OF THE RECORDINGS I'VE HEARD OF IT, ONLY ONE WAS DONE AS RACHMANINOFF had intended, having it SUNG, rather than played on instruments, AND I DIDN'T CARE FOR IT! THIS ONE, I LOVE!!!!!!!
This is surpassingly beautiful. Carolina's artistic sense is surpassed only by her technical abilities. This really is one of the most amazing performances on this instrument ever.
This is so lovely. I am impressed by the combination of precision and emotion... I did not expect both simultaneously from a Theremin performance. As a composer, I am now confronted with rethinking my ideas of the use of this stunning instrument... most of my previous impressions were from classic monster movies and "Good Vibrations," neither of which I found particularly inspiring. Kudos!
To be fair, the instrument on Good Vibrations isn't technically a theremin. It's actually an Electro-Theremin: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro-Theremin
imo A superior musician can get beauty from an inferior instrument. An inferior musician can't get beauty from a superior instrument. Or some such hoo-ha. In this case, both the musician and the instrument are superior. imo
As somebody from the Good Good Vibrations era, being an old geezer now, also a guitarist and pianist / organist..... I was absolutely Blown Away by this performance. the accuracy of the young lady on her instrument was spectacular considering how much muscle memory was needed, as there are almost no reference points. So I'm assuming you must have a really good ear for this. I have what's called relational pitch. My brother has perfect pitch. He can even tell me what key my car is idling in. But this lady is absolutely amazing. And not to leave him out, this pianist was Flawless as well and his touch was very much a reflection of the emotion / feeling that was in this piece. I'm so glad you folks chose to do classical.
At first I thought she was humming and miming, but it's a real instrument. My perfect pitch would do me no good at all in this instance. Physical skills far beyond my capabilities are required.
Carolina, how does it feel to be the best theremin player alive? Except for one boy from Paris, no one commands this instrument like you. Thanks for your postings. Best Eddie Paul
Wow! This performance is just flawless! I never tried to play a theremin, but I can imagine that it's extremely hard, because you don't get any haptic feedback from it.
You have really worked hard. I know it takes years of years of continuous practice, determination and motivation to achieve such a great success. It's amazing!
Wow! Your Theremin can almost sound like an Opera Singer in this piece. I think you should defiantly get a Talking Machine for this theremin! Beautiful Piece!
...I love Rachmaninov! Symphony no.2 op27 is my favorite one. It may can be an intput for you, what to do next, 'cause i think, i can speek for everyone, who commented here, that 'we' want to hear more of you!
I really wanted to learn how to play this instrument, but in my region the price is very high and I can't afford to buy one right now, would you happen to have one for beginners that you could lend me so I can learn? 😁, wow, it would be incredible and an honor to be able to play an instrument you learned.
Damn. She's the first person I've seen (in a video or otherwise) that can actually play Theremin at a level I'd consider worthy of being called music... And the instrument is still a gimmick.

Take that stuff somewhere else. Doesn't belong here, and neither do you.
Maybe they're hiring Bible thumpers at Crystal Cathedral.

Best theremin playing I've ever heard. Perfect intonation without all that long sliding into notes. And it almost sounds like a human voice.
Thanks, Timothy

How can this get any thumbs down? The skill this required is enough to earn respect for her talent and at least a thumbs up! Well done Carolina!

Kevin: do it! Don't forget to take advantage of the theremin's natural sound, the glissando and its huge five-octave range.
Honestly, Eyck is the best theremin performer I've ever heard -- precision, seemingly effortless (heh), and great musical spirit.
Thank you!
Living, I assume you meant...
Listen to Lydia Kavina.
Listen Clara Rockmore, PLEASE.....❣

Brilliant. Thank you for sharing your art.
L'instrument de musique de l'homme invisible ! Véritablement impressionnant ! Merci de ce partage.
Wonderful performance. Incredible dynamics.
Love it. Absolutely amazing phrasing, as a classical pianist this makes me want to learn to play theremin!
So beautiful.. I'm listenig to this on a lopp again and again... Thanks for music so great.
Beautiful performance. I'm getting teary-eyed over here!
Incredibly beautiful, perfect performance, Carolina.
Absolutely outstanding - thanks, that was a beautiful piece of music made ethereal by two accomplished musicians. Wonderful.
Just wonderful!! As usual...
It's a great honor to see that the legacy of a great mind lives and sounds so brilliant with your tender hands, Carolina. Спасибо!

Well, it IS magic.
Magnificent. Simply magnificent.
Браво, Каролина!!!!!!!!
Ich habe das Theremin als ernsthaftes Musikinstrument nie verstanden - jetzt hat es "klick" gemacht. Wunderbar!
Wow! This performance is just flawless! I never tried to play a theremin, but I can imagine that it's extremely hard, because you don't get any haptic feedback from it.
My fav piece for theremin!!

I enjoy this musical perform.

Wow! Your Theremin can almost sound like an Opera Singer in this piece. I think you should defiantly get a Talking Machine for this theremin!

How delicate
how is volume controlled?
ua-cam.com/video/MJACNHHuGp0/v-deo.html
It's controlled by the left hand. The higher the left hand is raised, the louder the volume.
The theremin shied away from the C# tho hahahaha but good performance. This probably how a tenor would sound like singing this piece.
😞😔🥺
SergeY =) RachmaninoV SergeY SidoroV =) ов=ov оф=of
Exceptional performance but poor sound recording. Shame the playing is lovely.
Imagine playing this on acid
