- All New 2024 Toyota Stout Will Make The Maverick Obsolete!
-----------------------------
Toyota is making a new $23,000 pickup truck that will not only destroy the Ford Maverick but also put Ford out of the whole market.
Since Ford revived the compact truck market, every company wanted to join in, while Toyota kept things a secret until now, and the timing couldn’t have been any better. Why? Because Ford and Toyota have been locked in a tight race for decades, but lately Ford has been going through their own turmoil, and Toyota’s new Pickup will kill their one last true hope-their top seller the Maverick. And here is how they did it.

23k 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When the dealers get hold of them they will be 46k.
But it will have wheel open moldings, wheel locks and teflon wax
Yeah but the 46k is for people desperate to get their hands on one. Personally i would get a used Tundra. Lots of bang for your buck.
Exactly, the maverick was 20k originally what Ford put out, then the dealerships marked them all up 30k plus
I agree with you 💯 ! Why wouldn't They , seems like everything else They're trying to sell goes for that ,or , MORE !
I'll buy one for msrp nothing more
Fewer features is NOT a weakness. Mostly junk we don't need.
Eliminating unneeded "features" means LESS TO GO WRONG.
True. Less is actually more.
I agree. fewer features is less crap to break as well
Drove Brand new Ford F-250 and Chevy Pickups in rural north central Montana for years. One of the first things to break where the electric mirrors and doors. Rock took out the fuel pump twice and the evaporation boxes part of the smog broke all the time. Fixed this problem by fabricating a skid plate for it.
True. And many mechanics say these manufacturers are putting the electronic modules where they are hard to get to instead of in a central location like fuses are. That costs thousands more in labor sometimes. They say the dealers lost so much service income by cheating customers who then go elsewhere that they need those service calls badly now to stay afloat after their thousands in add ons killed their market.
Very true
I call BS on any Toyota truck that will sell, new for only $23,000 in USA
But deep down you hope it’s true. I hope so too
The companies themselves need to open their store dealerships again. it went wrong in the early 80s when car lots merged and went basically rogue. I won't buy anything from a place that sells diff brands and mean other businesses... It seemed even Home Depot is just became another fink. They R now just being one notch over Harbor Freight gaga junk these days..
I agree, as a Maverick owner(which I love) I would love to see more compact trucks on the market. If the Toyota can come out cheaper I think that would be great! I have no complaints about the Maverick and the fuel economy is fantastic as well as the towing capacity.
You can never find the base model on showrooms. It's going to be more like 27k is what the typical price.
@@jaimefish173I’d buy one as long as the Stealerships don’t price it into the Tacoma/Ranger price range. If it’s priced over 30k it’ll be a failure because at that price point customers will just get a mid size truck instead.
Keep it basic! Manual window, door locks, mirrors, etc. We dont need a computer screen telling us where we are.
Two door, extra-cab and 6 foot bed.
and 4 wheel drive
Amen, remember the SR-5 trucks from the 1980's. Quality, simplicity, at an affordable price.
I'll 2nd that. We need a basic working man's truck that's easy on gas and park in the city. Not a soccer mom hatchless SUV.
And stick shift
Yeeesss .. don't forget the stick shift or I'm out
Nothing means nothing until they’re on the lot for sale, which they ain’t.
2027 is the soonest it might be released
Nobody really believes any Toyota dealer in America will ever sell this truck that cheap. What the hell do they do with all of the Tundras, Tacos & such that haven't sold but are more expensive older model trucks??
You seem to be talking about Ford. The Dealership has made offers to buy back my 2019 Tacoma TRD special Edition. Toyota is doing just fine. Ford, not so much.
It's a well-established fact that Toyota is a more reliable brand than Ford.
According to the 2023 Consumer Reports top reliable brands, Toyota is the number one most reliable brand, while Honda is number five. And the most reliable vehicle, according to the same report, was the Toyota Corolla Hybrid.
Ford is the second-largest U.S.-based automaker (behind General Motors) and the sixth-largest in the world (behind Toyota, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai Motor Group, Stellantis, and General Motors) based on 2022 vehicle production.
What car is ranked #1 in reliability?
Consumer Reports released its annual ranking of most reliable cars and brands. Toyota and Lexus top the list. Not a single American company ranked in the top 10. Dec 16, 2023
The expected price keeps climbing by $1000+ every week. Started at $10,000 and now up to $23,000. By the time it hits the showroom it will be $40,000+.
Toyota Stealerships will take their massive cut...
That $10,000 truck was a totally different vehicle.
I think the one you think of as starting as $10k is the Hilux Champ/Rangga which is different from this Stout it seems. The Hilux Champ/Rangga reportedly is already going on sale in some countries for around $13k-15k right now
Our dollar, remember it?
It's a few weeks from becoming toilet paper.
When you allow crooked politicians to print all the money they want it loses its value.
Soon we will have $600 bread.
I hope people are smart enough not to blame the bread.
The price of everything in our lives is about to double and triple in price and it's not the goods trying to rip them off, it's the money and you have already been ripped off, you are just to stupid to know it.
They won’t let them the $10,000 truck in the US. Emissions standards and safety equipment.
Like the US is the only country doing all that crap and we’re having to pay a LOT MORE !
Every one that goes out the door for $23k comes with your choice of a Unicorn or Leprechaun.
You’re right: Dealer markup will easily be $5,000 to $10,000 over MSRP.
Stop talking about it and Do It
What is sad is that the dealers will never allow it to be sold at under thirty thousand.
The Ford Maverick was supposed to have a base price of around 20k, but the dealers got greedy and artificially jacked the price up.
Let's remember that in a primarily market driven economy, sellers can **ask** whatever price they want, but consumers decide whether they'll pay that price. So, if they ask too much, and we refuse to buy... they'll have to ask less or sell nothing. It's generally the people who are more in it for ego who 'buy early' to be 'first on the block', etc., that ruin it for the rest of us. So, if this truck appears with too high a price tag, **just say no** and wait, or buy something else. We have more power than we think we do.
@@RichardHarlos You missed the point.
@RichardHarlos no because some Americans like buying expensive shit just to say they got the new thing. I grew up in the 90s and I would definitely buy a new reliable vehicle with crank windows and simple stereo. 20k area sounds perfect
@@RichardHarloslike the $100k Broncos 😂 fools!
$23,000 is the dealer markup not the out the door price.
Bring back the 90s hilux and no other vehicle will ever be sold again!
Hopefully not an oil eater like my 1985 Hilux. 2.5 qts of oil every 3K. Myself and two friends had them. Toyota said "within specs." We talked to one of the techs. he said Toyota had a run of bad rings that didn't hug the cylinder walls a enough letting oil into the combustion chamber.
You see Putin is trying really hard at that by initiating a war, but I guess as long as the US keeps pumping money into the war, there can always be a Humvee over Hilux.
when i was deployed to Iraq, we had a toyota hilux. I think they still make them in the middle east? it was absolutely great! they can take a beating.
One of the biggest problems with Ford, Dodge and Chevy is that they overcharge for a sub par vehicle. The vehicles break often and rust quickly. The main reason Honda, Toyota and Subaru are making more sales. When I buy something with my hard earned money I expect it to last.
My '98 Dak is still chugging along. Maintain 'em!
Facts rt there. We have a 2001 Rav 4 with almost 400,000 miles original engine and transmission. Just regular maintenance. We've enjoyed it so much that in April of 2023 we bought a 2023 Rav TRD. The realiability is unmatched.
RUST, YES RUST! The General seems to think that his/hers units are worth more than anything else even when they start showing rust sometime after the third tank full! Been there, had enough. Imports forever now.
My ' 73Toyota Landcruiser was a rust bucket same as my '85 Hilux and I'm in SoCal.
Keep it simple, and I'll buy one. Vehicles today have too much garbage installed, do we really need switches wires actuators to engage a transfer case, when a simple lever will do.
Until they get rid of all the needless electronics and computer enhancements, I won’t be buying any new vehicles.
The salesman laughed at me when I said I would like manual windows at least on my '98 Dak. I think only one model of truck still had them then. I got the least bling bling as I could on it.
Won't happen, so take good care of what you have.
Exactly
Genuinely curious: which features are you specifically talking about here?
@@davidhungerford3473 I'd keep electronic ignition, injection, and O2 sensor ( catalytic converters were the only significant advancement for emissions). WiFi for radio, cruise control, and airbags. maybe ABS for 4×4 traction control
Things I'd drop; lane assist, variable valve timing, electronic shifting, seat memory/occupant sensor, CAN buss system and associated micro processors( some cars have close to 40 of these damned things all talking to each other so it only takes one failing to screw things up), electric parking brake, active suspension, evap system/all electronic valves for vacuum and HVAC system, driving modes, integrated coils, multiple coil packs, electric water pumps, collision warning systems, backup cameras, steering wheel buttons horn only, auto headlights, idiot lights give me gauges, tire pressure monitors, infotainment screens, integrated lights, aluminum wheel rims, electric steps, inverters, electric/ automatic chokes, auto windows, outside air temp, electronics in rear view mirror, heated mirrors, electric window defrost,heated/cooled seats, air adjustable seats, paddle shifters, auto park, fluid level monitors excluding gas guage, keypad locks, electric latches, turbos,gps/internet/ subscription fees I have a cell phone for that, robot driving
It won't kill the Maverick even if you try to convince everyone it will. I live how you said that ICE engines are dying when in fact it's electric sales that are way down. 😂
Cheap and reliable and tough without electric windows electric brake even central locking and certainly no leather then that's for me. Give me a Toyota over a Ford any day.
Agreed, and all those damn sensors too.
I’ll take one. Manual everything with no bells and whistles. Just a reliable truck.
We won’t friggin get it!
I lock and unlock the passenger door on my Silverado standard with my walking cane. eBay sells power window kits for hundreds of dollars less than a manufacturer charges.
@@gmundenatand Bells. I can do without that
It will sell for over $30k in the US.
After dealer markups ... we bet more like low $40,000.oo. Wake up. Toyota dealers are Mark Up experts. Stop dreaming people.... This is Toyota.... not a Ramler Dealer.
I won't consider it unless I can get one with a manual transmission and 16 inch wheels no matter the price. Ps. I have no use for an infotainment system which only costs money I don't want to spend.
Ford y did that shit with the Maverick
Never mind they'll be 60 grand in the EU
If it even makes it to the US
Bring 🔙 Back The Basics Of Simplicity And Reliability.
Get What Was Available In 1980s To Early 1990s.
The Maverick isn't a truck. It's a four door sedan with an open air trunk.
As a visiting Brit, when I drove a Maverick in 1976, it was a basic compact sedan.
Doesn't sound near big enough for my ex mother inlaw tied up or in her cage.... I'll pass.
Looks to me like this Toyota is the same genre: RAV4 style unibody.
still better than anything from toyota right now... even the tundra is garbage. the 56k ranger raptor is even better than the Tundra pro... lol
My friend's full size Tundra has a smooth powerful drivetrain but a cheap mono chromatic interior. The doors are tinny compared to my 2007 Ram Cummins.@@unavailable291
Maverick is selling above the MSRP. Would be nice to see Toyota puts an end to this.
Toyota easily could but they are busy picking their nose delaying their release... They will release a competitor but by the time they do. Maverick and santacruz are probably gonna be the same size as current f150's again
Ford doesn't need Toyota to kill them , there doing a good job on that all on there own lol !
Precisely. An idiot CEO, DEI, ESG, getting rid of the Fusion, ugly Mach-E and trucks that cost the same price as a fully loaded Mercedes S-580 what is not to love about Ford? :-)
*they're
*their
Better be a 23k truck. Watch the markup on these..
It won't be and dealers will.
23k is the base model, you rarely see the base model. It more like the 27k models you will see.
I'm still running my '95 pre tacoma 4x4 5-spd with the 22re, bought it for 2700.00 16 years ago. No way the Stout will be 23k, bare minimum it'll be 40k+...
I stopped buying g GM years ago after two bad experiences. Since then I’ve bought a new Corolla, Camry, Highlander, and Tundra. Had no issues with any of them. Still have the Tundra, but certainly would consider a Stout as a second vehicle (or third if I include my wife’s car).
I don’t want a powerful engine. I want a basic no frills 2.3 Liter, 2WD, Five (5) speed manual transmission, roll up windows, no A/C, AM radio
Wouldn't that be nice to get your "basic" truck for standard truck use😊
That ship sailed 35 years ago. They were crap. Besides, you're not even being rational. There is no reason an FM /AM radio is less reliable, and roll up windows, just wait till they fail and t hen you have no parts availability because it's such a rare option.
I hate dealers. I've never purchased an RV from a dealer. I 've only gone direct from the factory. It's too bad the big auto industry doesn't work the same way. Dealers just add cost and no or little value. Just wait for the obscene dealer mark-ups on this new truck.
Toyota has actually been looking at direct buying from factory and not using dealers for that reason.
Dealership = STEALERship
I think that's the direction like Tesla. Fixed price no haggling.
I hope it's like my 1989 sr-5 4 wheel that had 200,000,on it!!🥰
If you can't fill up the bed with 4 X 8 sheets of drywall and shut the tailgate, it's really not a truck. It's might be good for picking up groceries.
That's what a bed rack is for. At least these days or maybe a small trailer. I spent 25 years in residential construction getting close to finishing another 30 in the manufacturing half of IT. You can actually haul everything you need to build a house with a pickup if you need to but I don't think it is the best solution to the problem. I drove Rabbit Pickups For as long as I could because I wanted to haul the tools I needed and not materials. BTW I currently have a 2002 2500HD Duramax and a newly acquired 2013 base Tacoma as well as an overbuilt 5x10' tilted homebuilt trailer sitting in my driveway and I mastered my first stick at 14 in a '46 GMC.
I agree on the width between the wheel wells part, but a 6foot bed is plenty long for most truck needs, even in construction (unless you are a drywaller, or maybe a framer).
If someone needs 8ft long sheets or boards of something, just lay down the gate & use straps IMO, easy-peasy
Kind of dumb thing to think, considering most people who do need a truck, don't haul 8x4' lumber or drywall enough to care, especially if all they have to do is flip the tailgate open.
More intelligent people realize that a truck is about load capacity, towing capacity (including torque) and for old timers, whether it has a proper frame instead of being unibody. That still matters quite a lot to people in the snow belt who don't give a rat's arse about the claimed rigidity improvements in a unibody suspension when new, rather they care about whether it is safe to drive after 20 years of salted roads, when a real frame makes all the difference.
23K? Yeah, right.... This will be 30K outta-da-box once the dealers get through with it!
Toyota hit the nail on the head. We don’t need all the junk in the car. We need reliability four wheels and the steering wheel that’s all we need.
Ford, build a BASIC (simple) Maverick with rear wheel drive, a reliable normally aspirated internal combustion engine and even offer a manual transmission at a competitive price point and I promise to buy one.
It will break down every month, get a toyota and you will never look back
New base mavericks are five grand more today than the cost of the first base mavericks.
@@andywells397 I just posted about a guy I work with went out and spent 67K on what we called his Ego Boost. Not long after he had it his ego got a real boost out on I-81 it crapped out in the hammer lane. Seconds after he bailed out along came 2 semi trucks that tag teamed it for several hundred yards on down the hiway. A few months later a line boss bought a King Rancher I think they are called. that caught fire at home in the drive way. it scorched his wifes car melted the siding and garage doors... Wouldn't you really have a Ford they say.... Me personally I stay as far away from fords as i can... Ford ain't made a decent truck since the 70's & 80's..
Crew cabs are stupid. I want bed length and manual transmission!
Not stupid at all if you want better protection from theft, or an additional vehicle where you can put the kids in the 2nd row. For all the times that most people need an 8' bed, I mean that few, can just use a trailer. That # of times is going to be a lot less than the amount of time the 2nd row is useful.
Someone needs to make a truck like my little ranger. No BS, just a little truck that does what I need it to do. Manual locks and windows, no cruise, no AC, rubber floor mat, no giant TV screen, no leather. Just a vehicle with a pickup bed.
I’m going to keep that little thing running as long as possible.
Last week it was $10,000
what happened
The $10,000 one is not the same as this truck.
That was an oversized golf cart. This is just a rebadged RAV4 with a bed.
I WANT ONE!
But please keep it simple as the original.
Dealers are the bane of the industry. $23k is a joke. It'll never happen.
In Canada there are no new Toyotas available, all new cars and trucks are ordered and you have to pay what they ask.
Pretty sure the dealers will not be ordering any sub $30 k vehicles.
You can't go to the US for one either.
As soon as I see one I will get one.
I am not an import fan at all to be clear.
However with the big 3 wanting 70 to iver 100k for a freeking truck is insanity.
I hope Toyota makes it a front engine rear wheel drive.
There is nothing worse then throwing on an accessory drive belt with 5MM of clearance after removing the inner fender.
Someone needs to make a compact truck with cab forward so it can have a decent sized bed in a Crew Cab. Cab forward crew cab similar to older vans then two rows of seats and at least a 6.5’ bed. Use the same engines as the Rav4 both conventional and hybrid.
Meh, no. The center of gravity is higher, working on the engine tends to be a hassle, and what fool thinks a two row seater with at least a 6.5' bed, is going to be desirable with a rav4 undersized engine in it? You are essentially talking about making a crapmobile that is only popular in 2nd/3rd world countries.
At the same time, I could see a similar shape but not cab forward because not ICE, rather EV with rear motor drive, being the better option.
Ford Maverick will be just fine.
To funny $75k in australia hands down flogged with taxes
But will the Stout come to the US ? Even if it does will I be able to get one with a manual transmission and 16 inch wheels ?
No, because if it has 16" wheels, all the review sizes will whine that it doesn't stop as fast due to the required smaller rotors.
Toyota Trucks are and always have been Affordable, Functional, Quality, Durability. I don't want to pay huge $$$$ for electronic gadgets that I don't want, don't need, will never use, and don't want to pay for!
Affordable maybe not
Yeah tacos are now 50Gs. That’s just as bad as the rest of them.
Yikes. 50 grand?@@maxtoll8290
If it has a hybrid under 30,000 looking forward to it, Ford unions and lack of leadership Drive me crazy love my maverick but looking forward to the next gen
I have owned 4 Toyota's. The Toyota Camry, The 4 wheel drive basic model Tacoma truck, the Toyota Tacoma 4x4 extended cab, and currently the Tacoma 4x4 crew cab. I have only one complaint about the 3 trucks, all of them needed to have their frames replaced due to rust. They need to fix this.
The reason I bought my Ford Maverick is because I wanted the hybrid fuel economy. I could have picked up a Santa Cruz for a few thousand more and had about 23 MPG combined city / highway. I wasn't interested in just a small pickup, I was interested in a fuel efficient pickup. In my Maverick I'm getting 40+ MPG interstate driving in the mountains (just runs electric downhill), 32-35 MPG flat interstate at 75-80 mph, and depending on errands 35-80+ mpg city (sometimes much higher). Towing my 1,100 pound pop-up camper on state highways (55 mph) I still get 30-35 mpg. We'll see about long term reliability, but the truck is quiet, comfortable, and affordable (I paid sticker on the base 2023, no markup). Had the Toyota been on the market at the supposed $23,000 price (unlikely price BTW), I would have still gone for the Ford for the fuel economy. BTW, the ECVT in the Ford is a licensed Toyota design, and it's amazing.
In the US the dealer profit margin will be 100% so its never what it starts out to be, the intentions get defeated.
Dealers are Ford's biggest problem. If the Maverick's price had been consistent instead of inflated, we would have bought one. Hopefully Toyota will be true the their word and keep the Stout reasonable. We are looking, but we're not desperate!
Those look really nice. I'm currently driving a '22 Tacoma. Would probably buy a Stout.
As a Ford stock holder I can say that, nah AI video maker person. The headlines about Ford are great, especially the one about exceeding last quarter's estimated profits and giving an extra large dividend. All this shade thrown at Ford but they still the most selling in America and everybody is trying to take them down. rofl.
The maverick used to be under 20k base trim, that was its original MRSP price when they launched it. It was the greedy stealerships and banks that drove it up well over 27k for that same base model. They will do the same with this truck
Can we purchase directly from the manufacturer like i heard we can with bmw? I dont mind paying shipping. How does that work?
Ford, as well as the other auto manufacturing companies ALL took nosedives with their EV debuts. At least Toyota waited until some of the bloodbath was over before jumping on the EV pitfall bandwagon themselves. Stout?? I'll believe it when I see it - and it's been just "talk" for 2 years now.
No way Toyota dealers leave this truck at mrsp...this truck will be $30k plus ttl
Just start making 1965 150s with a 300 straight 6 and a 4sp granny gear transmission. A heater and a radio are plenty accessories. 😊
When the ford Mavericks came out, they said they would sell for $22,000, I went to the dealer to buy one and they said it would be $32,000, for the base model, Ford can scratch my heinie, will never by any Ford period.
Toyota builds the most reliable vehicles. And a simple compact pickup is perfect for what I need.
Every Toyota dealer will be adding $10k to MSRP, because that’s what Toyota dealers do
Yeah, but how big of a trailer can I tow though. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It won’t pull my RV.
Ford Maverick? 😂😂😂😂
As the owner of a 98 Tacoma 2.7L 4X4, this is well received news. All the pickups today suffer from massive “bloat.”
Things every new car has that I don't care about: infotainment screen, leather interior, power seats, automatic windows, automatic transmission, 5.1 surround sound, etc.... all I want is a body on frame with a 6.5 foot bed that can tow 5000lbs and doesn't require a f*cking second mortgage. Maybe this is it, but I doubt that price is even close to the actual selling price.
I have a newer 3/4 ton 4 door GMC, but for traveling the wife and I still drive the old 74 chevy. It's been all across the nation, including a 3900 mile vacation to Yellowstone from Arkansas. It is basic with manual windows and AC. I added XM radio, and have all extra parts in the toolbox to repair on the roadside. After 320k miles of traveling with an old school engine it has never left us stranded. Less is definitely more sometimes. Some want luxury, some want reliability and don't care about the fancy stuff.
Went to a Ford dealership this past weekend and the average Maverick price on the sticker was somewhere between $35,000 and $40,000 for a compact pick up truck it’s no wonder Ford can’t sell anything who is going to drop 40 grand on a compact pick up truck
That's largely because dealers are greedy and are taking loaded vehicles because they don't understand the market. They are paying dearly once it's not the latest hot thing and inventory sits with interest piling up. No pity for them.
What car is ranked #1 in reliability?
Consumer Reports released its annual ranking of most reliable cars and brands. Toyota and Lexus top the list. Not a single American company ranked in the top 10. Dec 16, 2023
Everybody wanted to join in. Shows a Honda Ridgeline 😂.
‘Stout’ in my language means naughty that fits perfect within our culture.
The term is mostly used when little kids are doing things like taking cookies or candy without permission and have an absolute mindset of their own
I’ll buy this truck but I love the Mazda b2300 4 cylinder automatic with 8 spark plugs old school hard times Mississippi 😊
A $23k Toyota?
When pigs fly.
I have a 2023 Ford Maverick. It gets 42 MPG mixed and up to 48 MPG on the highway on cruise control. Cost was $25,000 out the door. Dream on Toyota.
Where do they assemble it?
Power steering and power brakes are the only powered things that should be included in a truly reliable truck. Manual windows, manual transmission, manual transfer case and manual locking hubs. Keep all of the CANBUS digital crap out of it and then you have a truly reliable vehicle. For that matter... go back to points and condenser ignition! I still have my Sunpro RPM, Dwell, Tach and Voltage meter from the 1970's. Keeping an old school distributor ignition happy is EASY if you are willing to do it. Everyone HAS to check the tire pressure once a month. Adding this SIMPLE ignition check and/or adjustment into your monthly routine only takes an additional 15 minutes to half an hour depending on what it needs. Operating a Cel phone has more intricacies and variables than a simple tune-up only you don't have to get your fingers dirty.... Boo-Hoo! (soap and water).
I’ve owned 4 Ford products in my 66 years, and the only one that was dependable was the first:,a 1974 Pinto! The other 3 were low quality dogs, and the last was a joy to drive but not dependable. I’ve owned Toyotas ever since, and my daily driver now is 16 years old and still going strong. Even the paint has held up great, and it’s never been garaged.
Ford and GM could have done likewise a long time ago, but they choose not to.
That’s why I choose Toyota.
23k sticker 32k after dealer mark ups. Valiant effort Toyota but unless you reinstate the Scion buying practice not many will be able to acquire for anywhere near sticker
Ford: Sells out every single 2024 Maverick that is in production for the entire year in January, with most selling 5-10k above MSRP
This goober: Ford is going to die, there's no way people want their trucks
Their ev is garbage.
@@aphrodite7194 Who cares.mm Yes, their EV is garbage... But 95% plus of truck buyers in the US don't want an EV.
Does it seat five and get +35mpg with a useful bed? GREAT!
Do the long-term repairs on it mean that you don't blow $3000 on a water pump because it was integrated into the timing chain loop? GREAT!
Give me my fuel efficiency but let's also make sure that repairs 3, 4, 10yrs down the road aren't overly complex or costly - KISS!
Any Dealer putting an additional markup should lose it's franchise.
Im in Ct . Where do I buy one??????
Got to have a single or preferably extended cab to be a truly practical option
23K for a stripped down, steel wheels, single cab, vinyl floored, no option fleet truck. IF you're lucky.
You will never see this truck on the market. There is not a dealership in America that will sell this truck. Dream on people
They have to get rid of dealerships!!
Pickups aren’t my thing but if I ever need one Toyota would be my only consideration. My wife’s Sienna is our first Toyota and it’s the best vehicle, overall, I’ve ever owned. What lies under the pretty skin is what’s important. Something called attention to detail and follow through. A concept Ford needs to learn if they want to stay competitive.
A few months ago they claimed a $10,000 base price. Anyway, hope it doesn’t take forever to be sold in the US.
Put my Maverick Hybrid order in 2022, still waiting on mine but its in route. Something tells me if this thing ever comes out and has decent mpg, going to take a long time for people's orders to get fulfilled which will cause dealers to add extra cost to the ones they get from people who declined their orders causing the price to be way over msrp just like what happened to the Maverick.
Sounds like something the Canadian market isn't going to see
Are rusty frames included?
After dealership markups of I'd say an extra 7000 to at least 12000. I bought a Renegade and they added an extra 6000 or 7000. A 2020 model that had been sitting there almost 2 years.
That is exactly why I will never own a Jeep.
LOTS OF REASONS NOT TO OWN A JEEP@@hopcat500
I dont need a supercomputer to drive to work. Good move by Toyota.
They give this truck hybrid option... Game over for the rest who try. They made the Prius forever. Now that tech is in all hybrid models. Adding this technology to the truck would be easier. The Hybrid version of the RAV4 gained 500lbs more towing capacity which would help this truck even further im guessing.
Only if they sell direct and keep this out of the clutches of the dirty dealers.
You give me a small, reliable truck, I do not need bells and whistles. I prefer it without, honestly. Can I also have a manual transmission please?
There is absolutely no chance this Toyota will sell for anything close to $23k.
its already gone up 3k in 7 days. Scotty kilmer said 20k a week ago.
I’m happy with my Tundra, but I might try a small truck, add it to the fleet!
I was looking to upgrade my Santa cruz to maybe a Colorado or ranger, if this has a 6 ft bed will be a massive player!
In N California, a Corolla Cross hybrid might be listed for $2000 over MSRP. A Prius might be $5,000 over. And so on. Toyota still has trouble meeting demand, so Ford has no worries.
Bring it, and keep that price down!
Bypass those awful Toyota dealers!
@gmundenat I don't plan to buy through a dealer -- at least not directly. I hope I can buy through the dealer network set up by a father/son team in NJ. You may have seen their videos. Yes, they add yet another middleman, but they seem to set up some good deals without the usual hokey add-on charges. The father was a car salesman for many years, so he knows the games dealers play. Of course, if Toyota offers direct sales, I'd prefer that.
Is it me or does every time the price of this new wonder truck gets mentioned, the price creeps up by several thousands of dollars.
Thats the Toyota IMV 0.😁
