Hi! I’m working with a similar configuration for both apps. One recommendation: in Todoist, if you don’t want to go back to the calendar to set the time you’ll be spending with a task, in the name you can just put the time in minutes between these -> […]. For example, you could add a task named “listen to filmed class #university tomorrow 14:00 [60m]”. That way google calendar will know it lasts 60 minutes and display it that way
@@ALifeofLearning In order for it to work, it must include a date. Whether it be tomorrow, today, in 2 days, Dec 25 etc. It just needs that in order for it to work. So for example: TASK tomorrow [90m] It doesn’t have to be in any specific order, and it’ll take 2-3 seconds to process.
Thank you so much for this video! For some reason, my tasks are showing up in the calendar as a dot versus a block bar. Do you know why and how I can change it to the bar? I cannot find an option in settings. Thank you!
I walked through this step by step because im a baby at all this, but once i got it set up and started viewing real-time changes on my ios devices and windows AT THE SAME TIME... I feel like a wizard
The most unacceptable thing about Google calendar is that users are not allowed to upload attachments from their phones, this problem made me switch to Outlook directly.
Wow... this is life-changing! I have been looking for a tool that will integrate with Google Calendar. Have tried several like asana, trello, clickup but couldn't figure them out. Your tutorial is amazing! I will be stuck with Todoist for a long long time :)
When I follow the steps as you suggest, Todoist does not give me the option to connect google calendar. Google calendar (legacy) only shows up but I can’t connect my google calendar.
Thanks for this! I’ve been using the Todoist/Gcal integration forever but coordinating it with different calendars and the color & time blocking is something I had never thought of. Love it!
This is exactly what I have been looking for! Thank you! I'm going to go implement this immediately. I like the way you presented the topic. Subscribed!
Hi Jaël! I really like your setup! I have tried different ways to organize tasks and to connect GC with Todoist. Looks like your solution is the best for me. Thanks a lot ❤
This was such a brilliant presentation - such clear steps, so easy to follow. This is a great system and I’ll be trying it out. Also subscribing to your channel!
Hey! Still using same setup after a year? (GCal with Todoist) I’ve watched your video when I started using Todoist and it helped me in integration! Now I’m back checking it. Wonder why it’s useful to use projects? (Plus we have labels). I personally have life non business things in apple reminders.
can someone explain the point of having the two separate calendars for "events" vs "tasks" - could you not just have a "personal" calendar and synch that with the personal "project" in ToDoist?
Hello... when you add a recurring task to the calendar via todoist, and then, when it is done, do you delete it. When you do this, will the next occurence of the task also get deleted.
Hi, great video. I have a question. Is it possible to also see your google calendar events in the Todoist app? I mean if its also working both ways. You add an event to google calendar and you would see it as a task/event for the day in the Todoist app. Thanks!
What an amazing system! I am a new subscriber, thank you so much for creating this video! It was very well made and I am so happy I finally found a system I actually like using both of these tools! You're the best!
Great Video Very Organized and clear. I have watched other vids on the same topic . Many of them are too quick and not as organized. Your speaking tempo was just right for me. I will be watching again to set this up. I really like Todoist but I feel syncing to my calendar is going to be a game changer Great smile too You seem to be a happy and positive person. Keep it up Glass is half full!! Thanks
Great idea. I really like that approach. But how do you sync sub-projects to google calendar? As far as i know TodoIst does not support this. I am really looking forward to your solution.
Exactly what I've just been wondering about. The lacking support makes it pretty complicated to combine GTD & Time Blocking, doesn't it? Have you found a workaround?
I got Todoist and my google calendar set up on my computer but does not seem to sync to my iPhone That is where I input most of my task and event scheduling since I am on the road a lot Any suggestions?
This video was super helpful and it is an almost perfect solution. But, when I add specific times for recurring daily tasks to place them in and time block them, they disappear from todoist at the time that was set. For instance walk the dog is set at 8am every morning, as soon as it hits 8:01 the task for the day removes itself from todoist as if it was checked complete even when it wasn't completed (or clicked) and it does not move it to the complete column, it just disappears. Rather than move itself to a past due, overdue, or incomplete column until it is completed. Is there a way to adjust that? The main reason I want the tasks to be organized like this is so they do not slip my mind and I am reminded of each one promptly but also reminded if I am finishing up something else and then go to check my list for the next item slightly later. If it disappears then it is kind of unhelpful. Thanks so much to anyone who may have an answer for this!
Hi, This is the best time blocking video using Gcal and Todoist! I've learnt a lot. May I know what is the advantage of having a separate G calendar for events for diff areas of your life vs having 1 G calendar for all events with diff color codes? I understand the having diff G calendars for tasks bcos it allows us to separate them into projects in Todoist easily. What about the events part? What's the pros and cons of having 1 G calendar for all events?
Honestly it’s mostly just an aesthetic choice, the standard GCal colours are just not to my taste at al! But it also automatizes the coloring for the different life areas 😊
I'm trying to build a second brain I love the idea behind that concept I have already created a zap to send my tasks from notion to todoist and now it's the perfect time to find a specific block in my calendar that's why I'll give it I try
Cool video! I've been using Calendar and Todoist a lot for a while and it has been extremely helpful. I wonder if the paid version of Todoist is worth it in any way? It seems that using the notifications of google calendar for the todoist tasks serve as a good replacement for the paid reminder feature 😅
I guess it is worth it if you want to use more than 5 colours for the colour blocking, but otherwise I have not felt hindered in any way by working with the free version in this way ☺️
Wow I had no idea you could have multiple calendars from Todoist! Even though this video is 2 years old I still haven't seen anybody discuss any of this as thoroughly! Also random but I love your hair!
Great video! Question: what are the benefits of having a for example personal events AND tasks. Why not just “Personal” and put events and tasks in there? Also: a recurring task/event once a week like “do the laundry.” For you personally, would that go in google calendar as an event, or entered via todoist as a task? Thanks!
@@twlvz4344 I did get it. If you have just for example “school” and enter an event in Google calendar, it will also add it as a task in todoist, which for me at least is not something I want. Hence the event and task being separate. I’ve used this setup now for a couple of weeks and it works nicely.
Hi! I tried to sync using integration. This step didn’t work for me. The screen to do this step doesn’t pop up. I checked my pop up blockers. No luck. Any suggestions?
Oh no! I have also been experiencing some issues with the sync from Google Calendar to Todoist (but not the other way around). I informed Todoist about the issue and hope it’s a bug they can fix soon bc this is really messing up this otherwise great system 🙁
